Lets take your figures for a second... Tejas got operational in 2001... in 23 years India has not been able to sell a single jet to any country... Indian airforce doesn't rely on it. It got only one serious offer by USA to use it as disposible testing air craft in its navy ( A big insult). Which also didn't materialize. Well its time to give Tejas to a Circus for free. Atleast kids will enjoy the rides.

Pakis can be happy thinking IAF don't trust Tejas. But look at the order book.. it's clear that Tejas is going to stay and India can build upon the experience gained during this period. Tejas has high indigenous content. Pakis can't even make a safety pin on their own and only depend on China . Chinese fighters also look good on paper but are not battle tested. The Indian took a long time to build Tejas ..no doubt. But it's always good to be self reliant. We have other fighters also to support Tejas. It is definitely not a failure.

@@naveed6797 Tejas was always given last minute major changes for years by our own bureaucrat so we can import jet's from other nations and they get their part . That's why it took so long . Talking about exports , all of those nations who rejected it were wither too broke to afford it or too rich to consider more expensive aircrafts over Tejas . Our own Air force couldn't induct more as the reason i gave and US Navy wasn't considering them as 'disposal testing' but as advanced training aircraft (they already have older F 16's and F 15's for that) . And for most of exports deal , it was always 1st runner up like in Argentina and in Malaysia . Our own Air force waited patiently for mk1A before ramping up production so we can get overall better aircraft and don't end up like Pak who has huge pile of Jf 17 block 1&2 .

0s have no value, but it's only if there are no digits to its left. But I guess they don't teach that at a madrasa. IAF has 40 already, 80 are under production orders and orders are being placed for 97 more. So it's more like 200.

40 Tejas Mk1 in service and order for 200 more Mk1a aircraft. Start using Google for something useful.
