Enjoy camping, skiing and other outdoor activites. Join this recently retired camper as I travel throughout Wisconsin and beyond in my 2019 Tab 400 by NuCamp RV. I'll explore state and county parks, hiking trails, places of interest and whatever else happens to come along. And i'll undoubtedly toast a beer or two,. I'll also post educational type videos about camping in a tiny trailer and whatever else might strike me as worthy of talking about. Cheers!

Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed it
As a recent retiree, we really enjoy your videos. We spend our vacations between national parks and traveling in Japan. Good luck with your channel!
@@adventureswithmarkandsonoko thank you for your kind comments and thank you for watching. Cheers!
Really beautiful park.
@@poodleprofessor its amazing. Need to back to hike other areas.
Another great video man! I am really enjoying following along with you on your trip. The music being so much louder than your voice was a bit of a bummer listing with headphones. But it's totally worth it lol.
I hear ya, I'll try to balance the audio better in the next video.
Great job on the hiking 🥾. It all looks amazing thanks for sharing your journey with us all. Thanks From Wisconsin
Our pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Nice Video Very well done Thanks for the tour
Ha ha. I drive so fast I stay above the ruts. And I drive in from the north on 287 over Union Pass. Go down there to backpack and kayak. Wyoming isn't for everyone.
Rut flying is a technique I use with my RZR 1000 side by side but I didn't think it would work with my camper. LOL. It's a. harsh, but beautiful state, that's for sure.
Thanks for this.. I was wondering about what Ive heard about the road and was wondering if its worth it. I don’t know if I would be more anxious about going home and doing the ride 2x and more possible damage. If I was worried.. i may not enjoy the stay
Honestly, I think it depends on what type of rig you have. I would definitely say to not go in all the way in any type of larger rig. I think a rig that's smaller and lighter than mine (18 feet, 3,500lbs fully loaded) is doable, or one specifically built for rugged terrain. On the other hand, there are plenty of spots along the Green River before you get too far in, and then you can drive to the lakes. Slow, but not too bad if you're not towing anything. Regardless, it's worth seeing IMHO. Thanks for watching! Cheers
Been to this park on both sides, (Mn/Wisc) love these parks!
Thank you for sharing. These are types of camp spots we prefer! A little pain for a great reward, and it keeps the number of travelers down. We also stay for at least a week, especially if the fishing good!!
It's hard to argue with that kind of logic!
Videos do not do these runs justice the end of bitterroot is extremely steep
Yes it is. Rather expected as well!
Worst 26 miles of road I've ever been on to one of the most beautiful places we've ever been to. Even worse is doing it year after year.
Haha. You’re a glutton for punishment!
Great channel. Keep up the amazing work. ❤❤❤
Much appreciated. Thanks!
Great video. Glad to see they fixed the road since were were there in Sept. 2023! Locals said the road was worse than usual due to flooding that spring. We were lucky and left our camper in MN and stayed at a vrbo in nearby Cora Wyoming. From there we hauled our kayaks to Green River Lakes for some epic paddling. Like you, don't know if we'll ever get back. We were surperised to find a wedding party in full western garb getting married while we were there. Guess those cowboys and girls are just tougher than us flatlanders.! On your next trip to Pinedale, check out camping at Fremont Lake, only a few paved miles uphill from town. Nice campground, scenic, and handy to tour other areas after dropping trailer.
Those folks out there are a different breed of cat for sure. It is majestic and magical there. If the road was worse the year before I’m sure I would have turned around. Thanks for watching!
That road is no better than last year or the year before. We are out there every year. Wouldn't buy a used car if they told me they drove it on that road either.
@@allendks45 good advice for sure!
As a T@b 400 owner, I was hoping you were going to video the "reveal" of what got loose in the back after the 3 hour rattling. You did not disappoint. Thx
You bet. What I didn't include (because the video was too poor) was going underneath the trailer to make sure the frame was not cracked or bent and the axles were still functional.
Wow’s what a trip. Yes the view was amazing but I think I would drive in for the day and camp 🏕️ out farther. Looks like you guys are having amazing trip. Thanks From Wisconsin
What an adventure!!!TU for sharing.
That bald eagle on that tree is either Eddy or Edwina, they oversee this part of these waters
I didn't realize that. Thanks!
Really incredible video and thanks for sharing more of the adventure. Safe travels.
Thanks for watching!
I'm from there, we used to take our high-school football pictures there
it's such a cool place. Thanks for watching.
@oldcootcamper of course! If you're in that neighborhood again check out sitting bull falls
Mount Rushmore at night is spectacular. I hope you got there in time to see the presentation that they do. The night we were there was 911 and they had all of the veterans come up on stage. It was very heartwarming. The needles is a fun driveand you’re right it’s not a good idea to pull your camper through. We didn’t have time to do the hike, but it looked amazing. Thanks for taking us along. Thanks for Wisconsin.
Alas we missed the presentation but the monument at night was something to see
That’s how old people break bones!
haha. There's a fair amount of truth to that!
Rode through Custer on a number of occasions on the Harley. Brings back good memories.
It has been a very long time that we have been to Custer N.P. Brought back memories, Thanks for the trip.
Our pleasure!
That’s awesome park and those are two great hikes. Sad that the first one was closed it’s actually just as amazing. Can’t imagine what you guys did next. Thanks From Wisconsin
More to come!
lol. Love the bison under the sign.
Very nice video. Brings back great memories of our numerous times on the Harley heading to the Sturgis rally.
Your video is truly impressive. Each historical detail shown during the journey was presented beautifully, and your storytelling style feels so natural. The content is outstanding. If video-making is more than just a hobby for you, focusing on creating strong hooks and professional brand thumbnails could really help. These elements can boost your click-through rate and average view duration, which ultimately drives chanel gro'wth. I have experience working with these strategies, so feel free to check out if you’re ever interested. Best wishes!
Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for watching!
On our way to Yellowstone we opted to stop a the Charlie green giant in Minnesota and passed on the corn palace. If I knew it was that close we would have definitely stop in Clear Lake Iowa to see the crash site of Buddy Holly. Hope you’re having a great time. Thanks From Wisconsin
A few places to add to my list. Thanks!
Another good video. Thanks for the ride.
Prefer voice without distracting music. Maybe would be okay during long pauses as a filler.
You are indeed the 2nd person to mention that, so that's how I'll do it going forward on these types of videos. Thank you.
That’ll be a great trip!
Good Luck! Happy Trails
Now that is an epic adventure for the old coot.
There’s some life in these old bones yet!
We got as far as the dry waterfall and could not get through. We thought maybe we were lost so we backtracked all the way through. We got to see everything twice.
@@run4cmt I hope you enjoyed it all the same. FYI if you have AllTrails you can download their maps and it tracks you via GPS. It’s a great way to stay on track - well most of the time anyway.
North WEST WI.
Does this park allow pets?
Yes, pets are allowed. Lots of people. have them there. However, they are not allowed in the picnic area by the beach and when hiking, pets must be on a leash. Thanks for watching.
The 2024 Boondock model doesn’t have the microwave. Thats the only thing it’s missing, I wondered if the previous models had one and yes, evidently they do!
I believe the microwave is an option on all models, but I could be wrong about that! Cheers and thanks for watching.
Is this Utah or Colorado?
This is Beaver Creek Resort, right outside Avon Colorado - also close to Vail.
Have you been to Black River Harbor? Nice series of waterfalls there. Also Gabbro Falls is like 100 feet from a road near Black River Basin ski resort (formally Blackjack Ski Resort). That's a cool one.
I have not been to either falls, although I have skied Blackjack and Indianhead (before they merged under what I think is something called Snowriver Mountain Resort. I'll have to check out both the falls and the combined resorts one of these days. Thanks for watching!
@oldcootcamper yeah they were bought by the people who own Lutsen in Minnesota. It's like twice or more than twice the price now. Unless you can get some kind of deal I recommend the Porkies or Bohemia (they don't groom at Bohemia, lots of trees, cool place, gets a lot of skiers on good snow days but lift lines are really not long) but also spend your money the way you want to spend it. Oh yeah, Powderhorn might be cheaper too. I grew up going to Blackjack, and Indianhead a little less, only been to Powderhorn a few times, I saw they at least have way better deals for locals when I checked last year (I got into backcountry XC skiing 5 years ago and find as much enjoyment in that as I did snowboarding so I don't really ever feel like I need to spend money to ski somewhere anymore) Though definitely check those falls out next time you're in the area. Whitecap mountain was cool the two times I skied it 20 years ago as well, it's a little further out for me though. (They had maybe the scariest chairlift in existence, i dont think it's in use anymore)
Another great video. And that meal looked pretty good too.
It was! Thanks for watching.
Good job. We did Wagon Trail up in Door County last weekend for our first trip of the season. Hartman Creek is one of our favorites too 😊 Thanks From Wisconsin
I'm booked at Wagon Trail June 27-30. It looks like a pretty cool place. Thanks for watching.
I need to get my Alde flushed, but $700 is a lot! Guess I need to bite the bullet and do it.
I swallowed hard - and paid about $900. $700 seems like a deal! LOL
There are a couple how to's on this, one uses an electric pump from amazon (under 20 bucks) and you just buy the fluid, which is fairly expensive. I haven't done it myself yet, but I aim to as I am not spending 900 bones to change some fluid. lol
@@couerl I’ve watched them, but it looks a little tricky.
@@couerl let me know how it goes and if it works, i'll try it next time.
