This just shows how diverse the music was in the 70s 80s and 90s. In the 80s Billy Joel did everything from rock tunes to ballads to acapella.

If this isn't the best Billy Joel concert on the Internet, it's certainly a finalist. Anyone who was there was very fortunate.

I admire him since 40 years and never stopped loving his music. This energy, perfect playing and perfect voice! Living in Vienna, I had few opportunities to see him live. But in my youth, I ran after every new record that came out to get it. These videos from that time are a joy for me! Thank you very much!

“What’s the hurry about?, you better cool it off before you burn it out” also hits hardcore deep because I try so hard to be book smart but it just isn’t my thing. I’m a piece of shit with subjects like math, science and biology. Then I’m so good at other subjects, but oh well since I’m bad at math and biology then I must be a dumbass right? I think I am a dumbass by trying to fit in so fucking hard with the school system. Why do they treat the booksmart kids as if they were Albert Einstein and then they see the streetmart kids as children with no future. When we are the ones that take advantage of every oportunity and most of the time we end way better than the booksmart kids.

“But then if you’re so smart tell me, why are you still so afraid?” hits deep because I know I’m capable of so many things but I don’t know how to use them in a school system that is so close minded with their concept of “smart”.

ok normally I don't talk about my personal life here, normally I just thank matthew for posting and that the song is great! while yes that's the truth, i just thought i'd leave this here: about a month ago, i was going through a lot of really bad depression, i won't get into the details, but it was horrible. anyways, it got to the point where I felt like i couldn't be happy anymore- as if it was a distant memory that couldn't be felt- just remembered. so i (was not thinking straight of course) grabbed a whole bottle of ibuprofen and almost ate the whole thing, before my step dad called me (we're pretty close, we've bonded over billy joel and the beatles), and asked me if I was okay. and i immediately broke down into tears and admitted i wasn't at all, and i felt like there was nothing left for me. anyways, i get sent to a mental hospital, and a couple of days later, i get let out with therapy sessions planned for me. but then, after a couple of hours, i check my phone, and my step dad sent me these lyrics, "slow down, you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile, but if you're so smart, tell me why are still so afraid?" and I smiled for what felt like an eternity! and so i listen to 'vienna' on a daily basis at this point. im doing so much better now! i don't think I can thank my step dad and billy enough for the inspiration and the hope I've received. moral of the story: vienna has helped so many souls- including mine. so, "slow down, you crazy child, and take the phone off the hook and dissappear for a while. it's alright, you can afford to lose a day or two! when will you realize, vienna waits for you?" (sorry if this sounds corny, lol)

This is not from the 80s. Freddie had this hairstyle shown at the beginning when he's at the piano in the late 70s. From 81 on he will have his short hair and moustache. Lovely music.

So glad he brought this one back for a while in the early 80s
