Demo: Update Deployment With RAUC and hawkBit Using the 'rauc-hawkbit' Client
The demo shows interaction between the RAUC update framework and a hawkBit deployment server using the python-based rauc-hawkbit client.

We use 6 Raspberry PI 3 with PiTFT displays having a standard rootfs built with Yocto or PTXdist. They have the RAUC update client running and a demo application based on the rauc-hawkbit client (see link above) interfacing with RAUC via D-Bus on one side and with a hawkBit Server instance via DDI API on the other side.
In the sequence you see manual update deployment via hawkBit UI to 2 out of the 6 RPIs. The update starts after the rauc-hawkbit client has downloaded the artifacts. During the update, the hawkBit client pushes progress information received from RAUC to hawkBit (as you can see in the UI) and finally tells if updating was successful or not. Then the freshly updated devices restart to come back with the new firmware.
