A pheasantry is a place or facility used for captive breeding and rearing pheasants, peafowls and other related birds, which may or may not be confined with enclosures such as aviaries. This Channel is for those of you who enjoy birds, from aviculture, depth of knowledge, and/or of course for just the entertainment of these magnificent creatures.

It is so hard to get a good Lady Amherst and a good Red Golden, because there are morons out there that want to crossbreed them. This was an issue in the 80s when I was a kid and had them. People are still doing it, it's ridiculous. I don't agree with culling, but honestly male and female hybrids should not be allowed to mate! Not all stock is breeding stock! I haven't had one of these in years but this issue still makes me crazy! Thanks for drawing attention to this issue!
@@franknberry333 That's my intention. To bring attention to the problem. I've been working with Lady Ams for years and still believe their beauty is unmatched in its purest form. It only takes one bad seed to produce a bunch of irreversible undesired traits. Thank you for recognizing the issue. Something I feel strongly about 👍

Thanks for the tips! As you said, chicken wire will keep birds in, but it won't keep predators out. Unfortunately, welded wire won't keep out snakes, rats, mice, or other small varmits.
@@Patricia.StoneCreekHobbyFarm No problem here with snakes,rats or mice. I believe I have the free rangers to thank for that. Now if only I could get rid of those damn gophers and voles😡🤣

I used to have a pair of these when I was a kid, they're very skittish but beautiful and their tails are so long!!
I'm hoping this guy gets a good length of tail, or at least in his second molt. His tail was really rough when I got him. But he's still really young too

He's beautiful, but videos and photos don't do these guys justice, you have see them in in real life to really appreciate them. I had one as a kid, he was my favourite pheasant, but man was he mean!

@@splittintrackspheasantry Yes please! When I got my lot I was completely lost! Especially since every keeper in my country seem to be gamekeepers that breed ringed pheasants by the hundreds for shooting. There is very little out there for ornamentals/small keepers/pets. I love the content! :)
