I love it when my chickies make those contented sounds. You can get a shallow "mud mixing tray" or "concrete mixing tray" in the concrete section at Home Depot. You just fill it with tepid water and gently place them in it. My girls have a spa day every once in awhile on hot days. They love it.
Heat + humidity makes things worse as well as encouraging infections. A bundt cake pan filled with cucumbers, zucchini & other veg & the occasional banana & frozen in water is a great treat for them on hot days. (Cucumbers & zucchini have a cooling effect when eaten).
