Dont use Hornady match 123 ELD , zero expansion on my 3 deer but great for Bob Cat kills them with tiny holes. I have a fancy 1-4 x 32 Firefield on mine with a lighted horse shoe reticle. Cost was $79 and came with a red dot to boot. My farthest deer is only 103 yards with it.

Really nice action on the Icon BFS rods. Medium taper and almost parabolic, they transfer vibration to the handle very well, you can feel what the fish is doing underwater. And, they are light, your reel doesn’t have to be very heavy to balance the outfit. Only gripe I have is the handle grip should be a little longer, so the heel of your palm doesn’t hang over the edge when you are casting - but, nearly every split handle grip among bait casting rods on the market have this problem.

Knowing what I know now…. We can sling lead that far if the gunner isn’t shaking…. (Nate 😬)

Here’s a long shot: I have two homeschooled boys (5 and 7) and we’re from Colorado. My boys are intrigued by harvesting clams and oysters and so I’m researching before we spend all of November near Murrells Inlet. Any chance there’s anyone willing to show us the ropes so they can experience this?

Sweet rifle for sure. Mine should get in on Wednesday. Very similar build but with a 22" barrel. I do also have a 28" Saturn barrel I wanna try out.

A hornady sst need above 1900 feet per second to expand and that's not full the 6.5 123 falls below that after 450 yards you might can hit a target shooting way up out at 1000 but I pray your joking about trying to kill a deer at that distance I love 6.5 grendel but you really don't need to shoot anything past 300 yards maybe a coyote or something

i was down 2 weeks ago, and e had great weather, tides didn't work the best for my schedule, surf fishing was terrible, but did get couple flounder over in the march there at the house creek in cherry grove. did get to try the vudu shrimp, and only got one on them, had better luck with white and green tail , but it was nice to finally catch some in there. but liked the action of the vudu shrimp. coming back in april and sept of 2025, so hopefully do better.

Try the Florida reels I have 2 now and love them even more than my stradic !!!
