Try this Simple golf swing drill for Perfect contact every time! Arms Straight
I see golfers with poor arm structure everyday on the lesson tee! When golfers bend their arms too much in their golf swing, they are effectively changing the radius. The changing of the radius makes consistent contact very difficult.
In this video I show you a simple, and possibly the only, drill you need to improve your arm structure for PGA Tour quality contact every time!

    Good video but you’re way off on the hips part. The entire point of the bowler drill is to learn how to apply the correct forces in the ground in order to rotate your hips open without the right side working out.

    • @tysondeskinsgolf
      @tysondeskinsgolf 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the feed back! The bowler drill has many different uses. I definitely agree that one of them is to control the pelvis thrust. As a coach who has dual force plates, and one who has talked with many elite Stack and Tilt(where the bowler drill came from) coaches, I would say those guys have taken a stance that Ground Reaction Forces don’t have an effect on how we move. That’s their stance on forces from the ground. I don’t agree with their take. Be on the lookout for a video coming soon on my thoughts on controlling the pelvis via GRF’s using data collected with my Smart2Move 3D Force Plates. Thanks again for watching and commenting! I appreciate it! 👊⛳️

    • @lilbrusselsprout8261
      @lilbrusselsprout8261 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ it’s not really up for debate. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Your trail foot pushing back and behind you and lead foot doing the opposite, given a surface with friction, is going to rotate your pelvis and allow you to leverage the ground. It’s not the *only* way to rotate your hips, but it is the most efficient and powerful way as it relates to golf (or a slapshot in hockey, side arm medicine ball a la hogan, etc.)

    • @tysondeskinsgolf

      Osiris7800, I, too, am an American. I enunciate properly when speaking. I encourage YOU to get over yourself. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Did you find “your” mistake yet, Missy? No? OK. I’ll help you. It is incorrect to write, “I know your American…” Normally, I really don’t give a rat’s behind about a person’s grammatical foibles. I look at content. Tyson did a GREAT job explaining Wedge techniques. Thank you, Tyson! As for you, Osiris7800, goddess of Grammar…not… You SHOULD have written, “I know YOU’RE American…” YOU’RE..as in…YOU ARE. You are “obviously limited in your [vocabulary] skills…" Get over yourself. You are no god. Thank you for the great lesson, Tyson!! For what it’s worth, I, for one, am thankful for Scrolling Captions. I often watch while others are in the room. I haven’t had the chance to go through your other videos, but will as soon as possible. Very good, simple, and clear explanation! I started last season around a 20 Index. I was determined to work on my short game. At 64 years old, my distance is only heading in one direction (OY!). I’ve “accepted” my age (well…mostly!) and refuse to play Hero Ball. I practice 90% of the time on 150 yds in, Bump and Run, and Putting (mostly Putting and Bumping). My Index finished at 10.3 for Oct - Nov. My playing partners (all young Long Ball hitters) laugh about my “Old Man Golf”. They ignore their Short Game and just pound away. They out-Drive me by about 50 - 70 yards off the Tee (I still hit about 220-230), but I’m always waiting for them at the Flag while they play zig-zag mini-golf around the Greens!! Maybe they’ll catch on?? I’ll point them to your videos and pray for the best!! 🤣 Proper wedge usage gave me more confidence and led me to better Course Management. The same friends kept commenting on how my Putting had improved. I told them that while it had gotten better, it wasn’t the key. It was my Wedges! They allowed me to go from 2-Putts (or the occasional 3!) down to a 1.5 avg per hole! I LOVE my Wedges!! Keep up the great instruction! Do it your way and be Happy. A bit misleading perhaps, but correct. A pro can use body rotation; if you can’t do that, gripping harder will be worse for you. Here is the actual article. The graph shows the pro’s trail hand pressure never goes above 25% of max grip strength, the lead starts at 50% max grip and increases at top of swing and late downswing. So even though pros grip harder, it’s ALL in the lead and it’s very consistent throughout the swing compared to high HCP golfers. Combined (both hands) the pro still grips at just under 50% of max grip, so don’t overdo a combined grip. ‘The grip pressure profiles of the pros we measured in this study were incredibly consistent from player to player. As you can see in the graph above, pros squeeze the handle pretty hard at address [1]-nearly twice as hard as the members of the other groups (especially with the lead hand). Good golfers are known for being able to expertly control the clubface. Their ability to do so starts with a good squeeze even before they take the club back. The hard initial squeeze also matches up with the better player’s tendency to power their backswing using body rotation. They simply hold on and turn, whereas poor golfers tend to lift the club up with their hands and wrists, which probably explains why their grip pressure at setup is so low.’

    • @tysondeskinsgolf
      @tysondeskinsgolf 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rickroll9086 thanks for that, I’m not sure what article that’s from, but I sat with a few hundred of the best coaches on the planet while Liam gave a presentation on this, and there’s zero doubt that telling players to have ‘loose grip pressure’ hurts them. What a player feels, versus what is actually happening, as I’m sure you know, are very different. Swinging with an instrumented grip that measures this is indisputable. 👍⛳️

    Great presentation of a difficult topic. Ive seen all of them from the experts you mentioned.... and your hula hoop example is very easy to interpret those three torques. I was hoping you would expand the conversation and you kind of alluded to it but it would be important if you would talk about the moment arm, because I believe until you understand where your center of pressure is in relation to the center of mass none of this will hit home or make sense to a lot of people. Also I'm sure once you start showing the force arrows and their magnitude/point application and resulting direction throughout the swing..... more things will click for people to include me. Looking forward to your next video thanks very much!!

      @@jjxson4 thanks for your comments and for watching the video! You are absolutely correct, once players understand where their Center of Mass is in relationship to their Center of Pressure, things start to click for many players. As you also mentioned players seeing the direction of their force vectors, point of application and magnitude helps them move the needle in the right direction as well. This is why it’s crucial for players to get measured in my opinion. I will get into a bit more detail on this in an upcoming video for sure. That yardage was not a full swing for me and I had no idea what to do. In 20 minutes he had me sticking the ball inside 10' from 20 yards, 40 yards, 60 yards, wherever. Since we had 40 minutes left in my lesson, he moved on to the very thing he explains in this video with my longer clubs. This was a complete game changer for me.
