I like how close Grand Californian is to California Adventure! That has to be the greatest perk: a 5-minute walk to a park entrance. I also enjoyed all the heated pools and hot tubs that are available right in the center of the resort. Very fun to easily hop in and out in between park visits!

I stayed at the Jambo House as well and one thing to note was the pool was not heated. During our stay, the weather was not warm enough to go swimming in a cold pool, so that put a damper on our pool time. There was only one hot tub local to Jambo as well, so it filled up quickly.

It is disgusting the amount of construction that hotel and park guest have to deal with. I remember back in the day multiple crews were hired and they worked around the clock 24/7. This practice no longer happens because then they can't pocket as much money for themselves.
