    Best decision is to go gas. I’m in the dumpster industry so my f600 will be a diesel but for what y’all do I think this is the best choice cause of the idle time.

    With Terex Aerial booms being rooted in proven Hi-Ranger design, you have yourself a setup that is dependable and serviceable for a long time. And you still have the ability to move it to another chassis later. I have a 2006 LT38 that is now on a different chassis and still passes testing without issue. Congrats on your new acquisition. New equipment is always exciting.

    Three types of loads?

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Resistive, Inductive, and Capacitive Heating is typically resistive -- motors are inductive and capactive are load that require a charge to change the voltage -- like motor starting capacitors and power supplies for floresences lights -- and for power factor corrections

      @ seems like luck of the draw for some people. The ones I’ve had have done well, tons of idle time. My biggest issue with the gasser is it’s gutless, but we pull with all of ours and carry thousands of lbs of tools, etc.

    I expect that you are doing the ROI and use case on this. fwiw Adding a lithium aux battery, running your up-fit to that with a controller and dc:dc charge system, etc combined with a remote start (charge control starts the engine when necessary, and operator can initiate a start for HVAC when needed) could reduce idle time on some of your trucks (probably not this one due to the boom) which could reduce fuel and maintenance costs.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      thanks for the comment -- in the beginning I used to add a remote battery for these feature -- a relay separation to charge -- end up being more issues than just idling -- the new lithium ion might be okay -- but the low temp charging would prove problematic a few times a year -- thanks for the thoughtful comments --

    not to criticise your power distro panels, you might want to consider using 'hospital grade' duplex receptacle devices, they have tighter tolerances on the blades and the connectors don't pull out easily..keep up the awesome work you do Dave

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      no worries appreciate the comment -- I can tell you I do use the industrial grade version and the 20 amp versions -- while not as good as your suggestion the ones we used have proven pretty reliable -- I don't use the spec grade they are pure junk -- also a nice feature of the ones that I utilize is the connector for the wire has a flat plate so that wire is between two "square washers" for lack of a better term -- I like to use stranded wire and as you know its impossible to get them under a screw then you have to use a clamp terminal and an alignment hole makes the stranded wire a easy connection. Thanks for the comment --

    Something that I thought about as I was watching again. (Yeah, I'm such a nerd, watching a video about feeder cable. LOL.) How do you deal with theft prevention? Copper thieves just steal the cables for scrap value. Vandals throw portable distros into the river. Other folks on the sites 'Accidentally' pick up your feeder at the end of the show? Also just regular edison extension cords and other smaller things magically evaporate. Yeah, the sites will have security guards, but really, the quality of the guards is pretty random. For distros, I just use some chains and padlocks and attach to handy large heavy object. Stenciling everything also helps. Labeling feeder cables keep honest people honest. But labels do no good when the miscreant is gonna strip it down to bare copper for scrap value. The towable generators, there are trailer hitch locks, but those are variable quality. Take the tires off when you put it into position? I was told the story about a rental house out in hollwywood that trademarked a particular shade of purple, and commissioned a cable manufacturer to make the jackets that particular color and custom only for them. Cut way back on cable theft, and easy to spot on someone else's jobsite.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh yeah -- know that if they strip the copper it will only bring like 100.00 and it will cost you nearly 400.00 to replace - if they just take the cable it will bring around 50.00 -- and when I supply event user a $100.00 12/2 extension cable, they think they can keep it because they paid the organizing vendor 200.00 for their spot -- It is amazing the type of event I can almost tell you the ones that steal and the ones that dont -- I know several different rental houses use baby blue on their cables and I seen yellow was well - events are tough on theft -- thanks for watching --

    No external view of the start up. We have three 3516's, 1.4MW and two 3512's, 1.2MW in Antarctica to power McMurdo station and they really blow out some smoke on start up. Derated due to less dense air and the low gel point "AN-8" fuel has less BTUs. Was curious if these were any better. But any 3500 series video I see, they all smoke on startup and when block loaded. But great engines! Used to work on EMD two stokes, the 567s put out 2MW, 645s put out 2.5MW and the V20 710s were 3.5MW / 5,000HP. Yes, they are train engines and sounded like trains. I have some videos on my channel of the Cats and EMDs. Also used to maintain portable 2MW trailers, like shown here. But had Cummins QSX or QX whatever in them, not a fan of those. The Cats are much better but the EMDs can't be beat. Unfortunately two strokes and emissions don't cooperate to well though.

      Good point -- these engines are definitely not as impressive as the EMDs on a cold start -- Thanks for watching. I have another video that shows the cold start -- but since no real load its is kind va underwhelming. -- save the trees they love the carbon -- they literally live on it

    I used FORScan to modify the PCM value on my 2023 and 2024 Ford F550, and successfully permanently turned off the idling function for up to 30 minutes. The vehicle can now idle until the fuel tank is exhausted.

      really -- could you post the values you changed -- so your truck will idle past the 30 mins. -- indefinitely -- that is clearly a better solution --

      @@ParkerSystems You need to modify the PCM value, depending on the model. I have only tested it on 2023 and 2024F550. If you need details, please contact me by email

    I find it weird that powerlock still hasn't taken off in the US. Where I live camlock has been obselete for years.

      Powerlock panel is way more expensive than camlock connectors. There are a few venues in my city that have them, but not many. we also have had the mechanical interlocks fail from time to time, which gets very spendy to have them repaired. The other disadvantage is if I need to run longer than one length of cable, I lose the interlock anyway. I got zapped one time by heavy power run, but the powerlock does not save me from the cable rental company had a color blind tech made up cables with red on one end and green on the other. So the casing of the power distro was energized. Lucky for me that the ground was dry and I only got lightly zapped.

      I have heard they are better -- but a lot of money -- cam locks have become such a standard -- it will probably take a min for that to catch on -- way better than the 100s of different hubble multi pin connectors -- thanks for watching

      thanks for your input -- that is bad thing about these systems -- you need to understand the idea if you are connecting them - but that is also the value. -- thanks for taking the time to comment --

    I can only imagine the cost of all of those cables and connectors.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems หลายเดือนก่อน

      they are quite costly. 50' 4/0 with cams. today is 350-400.00. thanks for watching

      I DONT KNOW why the comment put a line thru -- that 50' 4/0 with cams about 350.00 - 400.00
