Class 800 and 801s are run as LNER azumas. You cannot tell the difference by looking at them without the numbers but the class 800 can go into Bi-mode with diesel (running to places like Lincoln, Aberdeen or Harrogate which lack overhead wired) and electric whereas 801s only run on electric. 802s are always 5 cars long and are operated by GWR, TPE and Hull Trains. 803s are next up and there are run by Lumo. 805s are going to be operated by Avanti and are 5 cars long but can be joined to together to have a 10 car arrangement. 807s are avantis other class 80x they are getting that are going to be 7 cars long. Finally 810 are the new hitachi trains for EMR but these vary a lot compared to the other hitachi 80x models hence the model being 810 instead of an 80x.

the 804 doesn't exist... yet. because ditachi love milking the IETs, i don't think anyone would be surprised if they made the 804, or the 806, or even 808, perhaps 809 too? maybe even 811?

I can agree! Was nice while it lasted though. I thought it would have been similar to other companies that keep special liveries but sadly not.

I think it mostly just depends on the railtour destinations. I haven’t seen it up here in a long time as it normally wouldn’t go this route to my knowledge.

I think they are definitely a good replacement for the voyagers. The tilting pendolinos are staying and as far as aware they are only replacing the voyagers.

@@TrainspottingGB i see why they are using the IET because it can run on the wires and switch to diesel mode but due to the lack of tilting they are most likely gonna get capped at 110mph and slow down the mainline Also if they have the same seats as the 800-802 then its gonna be a downgrade to the 221s

i found out that they have shoter coaches to allow 125mph on the wcml and the same seats as the lumo 803s so ye a pretty good replacement

To my knowledge they are being built to replace the voyagers. I know that there is one that goes to Glasgow Central each evening so will be exciting to see it!

@@transport_dude They are replacing the class 220/221s. The 390s are staying. I think they have also been getting tested at Euston for the last couple of days.

@@TrainspottingGB omg phew bcause 390 is my fave train and 350 my second fave and i do like voyagers an sadly have only one video of it as i dont see it very often

@@OffTheRailsUK these are going to be different, I’d imagine these would have comfy seats and be more high quality than the Gwr ‘IET’ sets

Also we don’t hate them? We may dislike a few features but every train has its faults (some bigger than others)

No tilt meaning it will be no better than the loco hauled stock from the 1990's. Somebody at Avanti, DFT or Hitachi has Zero Brain Cells

@@ignaofficial1353i mean it will be better as it accelerates faster than pendolinos when electrically powered and faster than voyagers even when under diesel power? So far the lack of tilt only adds an additional 7 minutes of scheduled journey time but this will be fixed as avanti are working with network rail to revert some of the 110 sections back to 125 for non tilt trains
