My Scottie snaps and snarls at children and any other dogs that are not elderly and very slow and extremely calm. I only have the extreme pleasure of owning my Scottie because he was not conducive to a family environment. Scottish terriers not good family dogs and I think that people should know that. This video and all the people commenting are lying! Do not get a Scottish Terriar if you want to start a young family and have a sociable dog to meet new people. The Scottish Terriar is the last dog that you want! This video is a lie! Cute is not a reason to get a dog. Don’t get a Scottie.

I rescued my first Scottie from the humane society in spring. We would let him out in the yard. We had a fence we were sure was 92% safe We would check every couple of minutes. It happened one day. I heard a baby cardinal calling. Then the dog came running and scratching at the door. Didn't think much of it. Next day when I sitting in the yard and my dog was sitting by me I heard the baby cardinal and my dog got really nervous. Soon enough the bird landed right next to him. He tried to run inside but the bird was between him and the door so he jump into my lap. Quite a surprise. Eventually he learned to tolerate and ignore that bird. Everytime he went out and it would show up instantly. Sometimes he ran for the door. The baby cardinal was so pretty we called him handsome. And we always kept an eye on the dog so he could get to a safe place. Actually he was really patient.
I think because we always said to our scotties since they were puppies, where is the cat.. where is the haddida, where's the mouse they think anything that moves in the garden or that's not us our themselves they must hunt.. So we are kind of forced to look out for baby birds just because our scotties will definitely catch them. 🙊
@@TheHowlingScottie They were bred to hunt for animals that were stealing food on the farms. It has become an instinct. Of course animals all have instinctual properties. I've Always heard the competitions called " going to ground" or earth dog" It was a description of farmers challenging other farms. Both dogs would be able see in a tunnels to pull out the prey. The fastest time, the biggest prey and the most ferocious counted for winning. The whole thing was done over farm borders and them being properly care for. So Scotties have big chest, sort legs, extra skin at the back of the neck and a sturdy tail to pull out. By the way, your Scotties are beautiful and happy and follow their instincts. Just keep them safe.

My family has had 4 Scotties and they were just so awesome. They are loyal and protective. They tend to pick one person in their pack as the alpha and that's who they'll obey. Other than that, it's like you said, they are the king. One that I had loved a female friend of mine (marrried to someone else) and when they moved away and didn't come back for a good while, apparrently he felt she wasn't part of the pack anymore and bit her when she tried to love on him.
Is that a grape? They're extremely poisonous to dogs.
Yes, we found out shortly after that and never gave him grapes again. 😅

Oh my goodness, at the 3:25 markpoint, was that little one a BABY Scottish terrier??? If so that is THE SMALLEST ine I've EVER seen!!! It was SO CUTE, I was "AWWWWWW"-ing out loud!!! Wonderful video by the way, and you are so fortunate to have Scottish terriers in your life!!! 😍
Nice Scotties. Only thing that bugs me is that bushy tail. They are supposed to be like an upside-down carrot. To each their own. I would also be a little careful around young kids. Sometimes kids can get a little ruff and some Scotties might bite in that situation. I have been owned by six Scotties.😀

At 1:40, please don’t give dogs grapes, it is seriously toxic for them. I’m only saying this as a concerned dog owner.
We don't let them eat grapes. They just played with it. We have since making that video stopped letting them play with it.
We researched it shortly after and never gave it to Wally again!
