Gotta love Age of Sigmar
Nice to listen to the lore!
Glad you enjoyed it! Let me know what you would like to hear next!
I greatly enjoyed this😊
glad you enjoyed it
Shame we don't get to learn more about non-Longbeard Dwarves (except for Broadbeams and Firebeards Silmarillion shenanigans), though the Lord of the Rings RPG did try to add spice to them. Also, if anyone watching this loves Dwarves and heavy metal, there's an English-speaking band from Tuscany, Italy called Wind Rose who make bangers themed on fantasy dwarves. To Be A Dwarf is my favourite.
that band sounds pretty awesome, you are right though. There is so much that could have been unpacked.
Great video🙏🏼
thank you I appreciate it!
Nicee
glad you enjoyed it!
Was it Great? probably not, was it good Yes it was
I enjoyed the movie. That you for your review. It wasn't entirely true to the lore, as you stated. They seemed to try to hurridly pick up the pieces, at the end, to fix some of that. I have long desired to see the great Helm in a movie. Despite the modern girl boss themes and the animated format, I found that Helm's legacy was still respectably represented. I also enjoyed the music.
CORRECTION: Tolkien never specifies that the Dunlendings were allied with the Corsairs of Umbar. He only states that they were joined by enemies of Gondor and Rohan from the South that landed at the mouths of the rivers Isen and Lefnui. Those allies might have been, or at least included, the Corsairs.
Thank you for this commentary. I throughly enjoyed this movie. Just sad that there was only one Shield Maiden.
Thank you. Yeah, it would have been nice to see more shield maidens for sure
Since it did poorly, I will wait until it streams.
It's available for streaming now, but not yet for free.
Great video, thank you.

One small point - ruling queens existed in Tolkien's work, Numenor had a few (and even changed their law concerning it to allow Aldarion's daughter Silmarien to rule. Part of Aragorn's claim to the throne of Gondor comes from that changed rule. In the first age there was Haleth who ruled her people when her father and brother died. Hera might have used a similar reasoning if she wanted to lead and it seemed that both Helm (in the end) and Frealaf thought she would make a good ruler. She wasn't interested (which the Professor might have seen as a recommendation, being a bit of an anarchist) so that was not tested. - I guess that had she wanted she would have named Frealaf first marshal to handle the military stuff, taking care of the politics. If she stayed unmarried Frealaf or his son will get the throne anyway in the end - but that's speculation. Generally I think the film changed only a few things stated in the text and mostly added stuff to fill in the blanks. Some of it were silly but I mind additions (and reductions) much less when judging loyalty to the text. As long as the stuff that is taken from the text is done well I can handled some silliness being added and it was a fun movie.
I agree with you, most of the professors work does include ruling kings and their consorting queens but of course that is not to say they did not exist, I know this to be true. I always say that when words go from book onto the screen they are not going to be exactly how they were originally written or portrayed as peoples views are different. But I think that is a good thing personally.
I'm sorry, it is the siege of Minas Tirith. Gondor is an entire country, with a mountain range through the middle, and multiple cities.
@InevitableMe that's okay, it is known as both the siege of Gondor and the siege of Minas Tirith so both are correct
Great Vid
@@91_Mollo glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the support
Would shelob have known or been tempted by the ring to take it? Was she sentient enough?
Great question, but I honestly think not. It was stated that the One Ring held no allure to her. Her only interest was what she could consume. As she could not destroy it through eating it, it would have likely been dismissed by her in favour of what she could eat.
Have you whatched the Channel Tolkien Untangled here in TH-cam?

@@onenerdtorulethem-all Rainbow David does a marvelous work, I think it could inspire you, from the many channels dedicated to Tolkien here in YT Tolkien Untangled is may favourite.
lovely video
Thank you very much
@@onenerdtorulethem-all what do you think about the idea that no one could resist the ring enought to throw it in the fire. That the power of the ring was such, that neither Men, Elven, Maiar, or even some Valar could really resist the ring. That makes Frodo and Isildur way less a douche than the movies makes them sound.
@EssencialUtilidades I think Isildur and Frodo were overpowered by the one ring. It's darkness has such a strong hold on its wearer that it breaks them down mind, body and soul until they have nothing left to fight against it anymore. I definitely don't think they could have resisted it if they tried at that moment.
@@onenerdtorulethem-all I think Tolkien wrote in one of his many letters that maybe even a Valar like Aulë could fall for the power of the ring. What makes Bombadil ever more a mistery =D
Great Video - - but the Elvish names beginning with 'C' are pronounced as a 'K' sound - - not a 'S' sound, Professor Tolkien made that clear in the appendix with the runes.
Baffling inconsistencies in how some of this was pronounced. Almost like the voice was AI generated or done using a similar "english second language" tech.
I can only apologise for the inconsistencies I try my best with pronunciation but sometimes I get it terribly wrong. But I can assure you this is not AI. I take pride in the effort I put into my work, although the AI comments are funny to me
Really nice job on this video history of Moria. Thanks.

News flash! Orcs are imaginary things whose properties ended with the fictional works the were in. Whether they have children is an imaginary proposition.
True, however, a large number of people enjoy fictional work and they, like me enjoy looking in depth into those worlds.
Yes, they can. "For the Orcs had life and multiplied after the manner of the Children ofIlúvatar; " Silmarilion, Chapter "Of the Coming of Elves and the Captivity of Melkor
@jovanaccess exactly. This is what i referred to in the video aswell as Tolkien's ideology
Adar was the only semi-competent character in the show. I'm disappointed he's gone.
@lordfreerealestate8302 yeah, I agree with you on that

@@onenerdtorulethem-all make a video introducing your self and the channel, it woud be cool
Adar has no backstory, he is a character made up by Amazon! He is a character in the book that Tolkien never wrote!! 😂😂
Adar has the backstory that amazon has created. I am aware that he is a original character, as I stated in the video
I adore adar's character. Honestly I could listen to Sam Hazeldine yelling blackspeech all day😂. From what ive read I think a lot of people will miss him next season.
@annabizaro-doo-dah I agree. I think Sam Hazeldine really embodied Adar( no hate to Joseph Mawle he was great aswell) and he will be missed
i dont get your story line im sorry.
Sorry to hear that, but I appreciate your feedback
this is stupid.
Hi, you will find plenty of other content on my channel that you may find more enjoyable
Wow this is complete BS. However I do like the actor who played Adar this season. But I'm not sure where you're getting your backstory here but please you are not doing anybody a service by putting this crap out there. If you care about Tolkien at all, have some moral fortitude and take this crap down.
As Adar is an original character created by Amazon for the Rings of Power, which already varies greatly from the works of Tolkien, it is a stretch to say i am doing a disservice to Tolkien or his work. If you do not like this video feel free to dislike it that is your choice. But what I choose to put out on my own channel is my perogative and I alone have the right to decide what I wish to post. If you wish to stick round feel free to watch many of my other videos which follow closer to Tolkien's lore.
@@onenerdtorulethem-all I would be more curious to find out your motivation for legitimizing what Amazon is doing. Tolkien needs protection and gatekeeping and valiant watch men and women to honor the professor, scholar and war hero that Tolkien was. To see his legendarium sullied and defiled by Amazon as it has not only dishonors Tolkien but all the other millions of soldiers that died on the battlefields of World War I and all the veterans that were traumatized by that experience. That is the core and essence of the nature of Middle Earth a soldier dealing with his post-traumatic stress disorder from the horrors he witnessed and the friends he lost. Real life horrors real life friends. Big One should never lose sight of what this work is based on. It is, after all a tale of soldiers coming home from war and dealing with trying to fit back into the life they left behind. Hopefully you will consider that. But yes you can put what you want on your own channel. As I do with my own channel. And yes I can surf on and most likely will shortly. But these comments are not only intended for you but for everyone else reading them so that maybe they will consider what inspired professor Tolkien. All that being said, you do have a pleasant soothing voice. I wish you luck and good fortune.
@@onenerdtorulethem-all I also want to apologize for overreacting.
@garygor1960 I will agree that the production of Rings of Power is not the best interpretation of tolkien work however I find the character of Adar one it's only redeeming qualities because of his depth and characterisation as an original character, as opposed to other characters that they have taken directly from tolkiens legendarium and have haphazardly shoe horned their stories in to try and fit a narrative that they do so poorly. Like many works from novel to screen, they are not going to be perfect, and each depiction is open to interpretation. Some interpretations are more pleasing than others as some will be much closer to the people vision of the world of Middle Earth.
@garygor1960 it's fine, it's good to be passionate and be able to hold indepth conversations about that topic. There are no hard feelings
Fictional character, trash show
@Sirgoldblade I have found the amazon created characters probably the only part that is alright but yeah overall subpar
Brian Blessed is Tom Bombadil.
