I don't understand why this is not available is the United States like the larger model is. The larger ones are too expensive and ugly but this is perfect! I guess I'll wait a year and see if it comes out here. Otherwise I might try and import one.
He has done a great job
I only have one hand but I have land and I have ambition but I'm afraid if I have what it takes to do something like this I really like watching your channel though and I hope that you're having a good time making these videos for us
Question..U seem like you make things really easy.. I had hooked up my pack BP7,,and noticed the ground connection is not located inside the box for the ground?? soo this means I have to leave it out and connect it to the ground lug on the outside of the box THank you
This is exactly what my Balboa 2hp pump is doing. I replaced the capacitor on the the top of the motor but its still doing the same. I think I have to look for the start-up capacitor if there is one. Thx.
great video. thanks for the info!
great video. lots of good info. thanks for posting!

Is it possible to have a dual function spa? i.e. cold plunge and hot tub

Buy Air Source Heat Pumps - shop.buildahottub.com/product-category/air-source-heat-pumps/ How I saved 66% on the running costs of my tub - buildahottub.com/reduced-hot-tub-costs/
I'm guessing this is an old video? You mentioned gas and electric are around the same price. My gas is 22p / kw but gas is 5.5p / kw. So am i right in thinking a gas boiler will be 4 times cheaper to run?
I have a balboa VS300FL4 getting LF error code. Service tech came out checked everything and cleaned heater sensors but code still came back. He said maybe circuit board I noticed the when I pushed motor just hum and doesn’t come on. If I turn off power and rest then motor will come on. Any thoughts before I spend big money on circuit boards. Thanks
If you have a dual speed pump, you should be able to make it turn on high speed, then it will drop down to low speed but once it stops, it will just hum when it tries to restart if you have a bad capacitor. Pump is the problem here - not the circuit board for sure - dont spend on a new circuit board - concentrate on finding the problem with the pump. - Hope that helps - Andi

Can you send me pipe connection for nozzles and for motor
why don't we have a video instead of still pictures? How do you take it off and put it back on? You said it isn't heavy, but you don't show us that it isn't heavy or awkward to take it off and replace it.
I'm replacing a new balboa BP7 pack with new cords current pump looks like L1 -White L2 Blk My new cord orientation is flat side down is red blk wht grn will this match my pack & pump .. my pump diagram grn Comm on top , lo-speed , hi-speed Where on the diagram are the pinouts located ? Thx for you help
Hi Gary, try and trace the pin outs back to the pump diagram that will be on the side of the pump, dont rely on colors - here is a link where I show which of the Balboa pins do what - buildahottub.com/hot-tub-wiring-explained/ - hope that helps - Andi
I have seen others say to bypass pump and filter but your not saying that here . I have a cartridge and you are saying just to remove cartridge but no need to bypass the heater either . My pool filter doesn’t have a bypass . And thats ok ? Thats an expensive heater 😮
Hi There, you should follow the manufacturer's instructions, but yes, 100% remove the filter - going through the heater is fine - hope that helps - Andi
Great looking plan! Do you have any plans for a large plunge pool, about 15x8 that can double as a hot tub? I’m located in northeast USA
Not to sure about the way that’s being mixed with a stick in a dirty bucket 🤔

Need help on this build
Well done and thanks
How's it going? Any updates?
Not on this one no - like a lot of these larger projects that are part of even bigger builds - they get delayed. Last month they submitted plans for permits - that is the current state of play - thanks for the watch and comment - Andi
How long does the seal last? I get an old 2004 hot tub and have modified most of the fittings with new non leaks but now it looks like the leak is up where the filter and strainer basket go and I don't have any way to access it other than to dismantle the entire tub
It tends to be temproary in my experience, and you will end up doing it every month or so - if you can get to it, repair the leak properly with replacing the fittings etc - it is worth the effort - thanks - Andi
How creepy😂
I have a new jacuzzi, but in the control panel the alarm blinking, LCDF”_ the vendor tell me the control panel is Balboa. The air pump don’t turn on. It’s 220v. But I see the board is trepase.😢😢
Hi There, drop me an email and some pics to andi(at)buildahottub.com and I will see how I can help - thanks
I stay at condo with low flow jacuzzi which is part of a large swimming pool. If I took some pictures can you help me improve the performance? Thank you Barry
Hi Barry - possibly, shoot me some pics over of the plumbing and the kit that is being used and I will see if I can help - thanks - Andi (send to andi(at)buildahottub.com)
Good you use solid plumming. The pool hacks round here use flex pvc and it leaks like a sprinkler after 8 or 10 years.
All hot tub owners sooner or later will have leaks some of them very difficult to fix, they are a pain and a expensive cost minimun $ 120 plus for the first 1/2 hour. THE HOT TUB INDUSTRY SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS AND TRY TO IMPROVE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
Well said! Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for the comment - Andi
What heat source would I need to heat 3600 litres efficiently
Hi Don - thanks for the comment - as big as your budget can stretch to - minimum I would suggest is 12kw on that size of a tub - hope that helps - Andi
I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE 😢 please please please im in scott's crappy electrical connector situation.. the component connections on the new spa pack wont work with the old aqua quip component plugs. I have just received the new 4 pin components via spa Depot 🙏🏼(shout out to them for helping me in Olympia WA!!) but now they have arrived and i don't want to screw this up. Please help me.....😩
⭐⭐⭐🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼OMG thank you so much for making this video WOW. Thank you
You are most welcome thanks for the comment - Andi

CAN YOU LI PUT UP A LINK TO YOUR PARTS STORE
Sure it’s www.parts4tubs.com - thanks for asking - Andi
love the info. I want to know how to add seating to an existing inground spa >
Depends where your current plumbing is - might just be as easy as draining and then using CMU block to create your seats with a micro cement or painted finish - a few variables here though especially the plumbing locations - hope that helps - Andi
Hi there, thanks a lot for your very helpful videos, I have a Balboa MGS504SZ spa pack, a 2 speed pump (balboa 1023324) and a tropic seas spas topside with 5 buttons. It was working fine and then started tripping, I left it off for quite a long time. Changed the element and now when it starts up the hot tub starts to heat up and then comes up with a HFL fault. It seems to me that the pump only works on high speed and not low speed. I have checked all the relays and they are all okay, thanks in advance for your help, Luke
I'm a bit surprised you say lpg/natural gas is more or less the same cost as electric heating. Your air source heat pump may save 66% as its a 4 to 1 gain of the electricity used, ie 1kw power in, 4kw of heat out, but natural gas costs around 25% of electric - in the UK at least. The cost of an air source heat pump will be at least 5 times the cost of a caravan hot water heater, so for me, thats the best bang for buck
Does it gum up the pump, Filter or venturi?
Brilliant, you can never spend too much on your fur baby. New sub here.
Instead of seing you throughout the video it would be so much better to see the construction and your voice on the back . Just a suggestion . Otherwise great content
Is it possible to run a generator that is separate from the house to power everything that will be in the control room???
Thanks for the comment - don’t see why not - depends on how much you can generate - if you are running on electric to heat and use jets could have you at 40A per hour which at 220V is about 10KWH - hope that helps - Andi
Great video, thanks for your efforts. When we get down to prices, is when I think, I cant afford this. So, my question would be, would it be possible to use a liner to save on costs, and could it double as a therapy pool(higher temp). The wife has arthritis.
Hi there - yes you can use a liner but they are difficult to do as a diy’er - getting in into the track and then vacuumed into place takes quite a bit of skill - it is easier to paint the surface to save some cash - hope that helps! - Andi
@@Buildahottub Thanks, There's no hope for a cheapskate
Great video, but there is no way I would smoke PVC and solvent weld
This is a perfect design!!! Especially for my young family 🎉
Thank you! 😊
So, I’m a pond guy but I want to expand my business a bit into cocktail ponds. I know that I can’t use a rubber liner for a hot tub but could I use a rubber liner to build a cocktail pond?
I could have this wrong, but isn’t a grounding wire a thick copper wire you run to a steel pole beat into the ground? Or is no pole required? My dad had a pool and spa company and I remember installing some hot tubs with him around a decade ago but can’t remember all the details!
Yes, there is a ground rod connected to these copper loops (in fact there are 4 rods for this piece of code!) Appreciate the comment have a good weekend - Andi
