A friend of mine is buying a home there and I am interested to possibly buy one too. I’m retired and selling a home on Indio, CA. Housing prices are great, city look great, fun things to do. I do have 2 kids 5 and 8. Wife may work or I may do part time work. I checked the temperatures and the summers are too hot and too humid. The drive to the beaches are far and the beaches aren’t as nice as California. I’ve been to Dallas in the summer heat and humidity was unbearable. What about air pollution? Looks bad.

If you're not looking for a biracial relationship, San Antonio isn't the place for you. Also there is a lot of racism here from the Hispanic population. I swear they just believe they're all white. I've been here for 13 years and it has always been "us" and "them".

My wife and I are thinking about moving to San Antonio next year. It’s just her and I and I have been looking for a place in Alamo heights area or somewhere near military base.

Moved from San Diego to Fort Worth. Never looked back! One thing you did not mention. Not only are taxes high in Ca but they keep going up. There are all kinds of "fee's and new taxes. These fee's and taxes on businesses get passed on to the end consumer in the form of even high prices. The politicians in Scramento are raising taxes and coming up with new "fee's" almost daily!

Don’t move to anywhere west in San Antonio if you’re not okay with what should be a 10 minute drive being a 45 minute drive. Don’t move here if you are not okay with one way in and one way out of your neighborhood. Dont move here if you’re wanting to just get up and go somewhere because YOU WONT BE ABLE TO JUST DO THAT IN this area… not to mention, these houses are built very low quality. Houses are going up for sale while they’re still trying to sell new homes. Don’t move here if you’re okay with your kids being late to school because the school bus is in traffic lol . The worst part of living in SA is the summer heat. It’s unbearable for this Michigan girl. Been here 2.5 years and hopefully will be moving back to MI in May. Maybe come back for winters because the winter here is awesome.

San Antonio sucks! The hot weather causes very very high energy bills. Your grass will seldom be green. Btw, people are nicer in NYC. Also, being a Red state, it's a corrupt state where the Republicans take in everything and you get nothing. Real Estate has been at a low-time low for the past four years. The politicians are corrupt, you will not benefit unless you are upper middle class or rich. I've owned my home for the past 11 years and looking forward to selling and moving, but I'm waiting for the real estate to increase. Wishful thinking?
