Simple actionable insights, with a few laughs!
Jason Alcott is an author and content creator from Vancouver, BC. He began writing his debut book, The Sowing Principle, after recognizing the role that sowing and reaping was playing in his life and the impact this understanding could have on others. When he is not writing, he can often be found with his wife trying to wrestle their toddlers into car seats to go and explore all the adventures waiting just outside their front door.

I completely agree with what you said about not being able to fail on TH-cam! Especially if we are enjoying what we are doing! Plus the confidence boost TH-cam adds to our personal lives! like wow!
It’s a party for sure. Thanks for watching!
Great video! 👍 I like the visuals and examples of the two people
Thank you!
Idk what to comment
Did you like the hats?

Thank you Jason
You're most welcome! Thanks for the comment!
Great insight! Thank you for sharing this book and some of the highlights.
You’re most welcome. Thanks for the comment!
Yeah.... That's what you're supposed to do with the gap. You set us goal of getting to a 1000 subscribers. And then when you get there you celebrate because you've made it. Then you make another goal of 5000 subscribers. When you get there you celebrate because you've done it again you've achieved goal. Then you set another 1...50000 subscribers. You keep doing this. And when your worth is coming to question then you remember all those goals that you've already hit and how you have 40000 subscribers. But you never stop making goals and trying to reach them. Yes, You've made it to 40000 Subscribers. And hopefully soon you'll hit that 50000 subscriber mark!
50k here we come! Thanks for the comment.
Measure the progress vs the gap to the goal, love it! Thanks for a great review of this book's concepts Jason, I'm going to grab the book.
Thanks for the comment Tom! Hope you are well!
I needed to hear this today. Thank you for sharing these thoughts Jason!
You’re most welcome! It’s a great book!
Awesome video thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. As a faith-based person, I struggle with the daily affirmation part. I understand it’s not necessarily this way for every christian, but I do not like saying “I am ____.” Knowing my heart, it puts more focus on “me” and less on God. I have since reframed it to something like God has created me to be ____. It just helps remind me that through God and how he created me, I can do it with and for Him. Keep up the great work! I love how what you say always helps me reflect on my own practices.
I love that framework. The words we say matter and the preface of ‘God has created me to be…’ is powerful. Thank you for sharing !
I have to agree. Thank you for sharing this insight, it is helpful. Thank you too Jason for another practical and important challenge!
@@JasonAlcott thank you for graciously accepting it!
@@ceperformance You are welcome!
I like to pick things to say that are aligned with the word of God. I am forgiven fully. I am redeemed and restored. I am loved and lovable. I am anointed to free the captives. Etc
I loved that scene in The Bear that did something similar. It always sticks in my mind. Pretty cool!
Yes! I heard that Will Guidara was consulting on the show. So cool.
Interesting analysis !! Could you suggest better ways- if making big money in corporate world as engineer or in general is the only goal which path is the most suitable to adopt and how like earning promotions quicker, climbing ladder etc or remaining in same position ? Also how is it possible for me in initial stage of career to demand promotions or high pay after 6 months or a year by solving any of their major problems.. does any books on creativity or innovation thinking examples work drastically well in advancing rapid growth..
I would start with The Slight Edge and The Compound Effect.
@@JasonAlcott Valuable 📚!!Got it 😊 but apart from books i would love to hear ur personal insights about the whole subject as it is of prime importance for me and everyone who dreams of achieving big success...
Good question. I believe that if you are looking to achieve success in the corporate world then learning to be the ideal team player will open up the most doors of opportunity for you. The Ideal Team Player is a concept from Patrick Lencioni and he lays out that you need to be Humble, Hungry & Smart (EQ smart, people skills). Highly recommend you work on those three things.
@@JasonAlcott Thanks a Ton !!💛
Foundation of confidence is well satisfied emotional needs from loving caretakers or loved ones. Nothing to do with mental strength.
Thanks for the comment. Appreciate your perspective. I think this is a 'yes and...' situation.
I wanna read brave new world
A classic. I actually haven’t read it yet but I’ve added it to my list!

Great video! Good pointers as an introvert myself
Thank you!
Great video, Brother Jason. I often have to remember that when I feel that God is distant it isn't because He has stepped away but because I have. God doesn't change; He doesn't leave. He promises that several times in His Word. I need to continually run back to Him. Thank you for the message!
Well said and so true. Thank you for the comment!
I wonder if you would be willing to create a list/pdf of books that you would recommend people to read. It would be helpful.
Now there’s a good idea! Thanks! Let me put something together!
Great video again Jason. Very engaging :)
Thank you!
Thank you for being such a blessing Jason! Those are some very good points you bring up, especially about having self-compassion. Definitely something I need to work on. The books sound very interesting, now I just need to find the time to read them 😀 I guess I should implement a tip you gave a while back to simply read five (I think) pages a day. That would be a good start.
Thank you for your kind words my friend! Do you ever listen to audiobooks? I’ve started listening to a lot more this year and really enjoy it!
@@JasonAlcott I do actually, I enjoy that as well. In december I had a concussion and after that I listened to quite some books because I was not allowed to look at screens or even read a book. Not sure if I was allowed to listen 😲 Now I am more busy again, I don't listen to books that much anymore, but I was planning on starting again. All three books that you mentioned are on BookBeat.
@@ArnoudRoeland Sorry to hear you had a concussion but it sounds like you are on the road to recovery! Dive back into those audio books. Talk soon.
Great insight!
Thank you! 🙏🏼

You need to change your religion. Because even the trinity concept is enough to drive you made because it doesn't make any sense.
Thanks for your comment.
I’m happy to experience the slight shift in content. Another great and applicable video Jason! Thank you
Thanks Steve!

Great definition
I agree!
Excellent content Jason. Thanks for sharing these powerful insights and inspiring your audience to live them out!
Thanks Steve!
Not bad.... What I think it really can do is bring about resolution faster to the situation than if you didn't thank God Important to note God is not the author of evil but it happens ... Be thankful in the situation not for it... If it's not good...
Being thankful in the situation, not for it. Well said.
Subscribed from Pakistan. Such a good channel. Not those long boring videos but to the point stuff
Great to meet you! Thank you 🙏🏼
Excellent video. Thanks for stepping out and up in sharing your faith through this video in a way that anyone can relate to.
Thank you! Have a blessed day!
Thank you Jason! Those are good reminders. You are right, it is so easy to find all kinds of TH-cam self-help videos, but forget that the answers are in the word of God.
Great reminder for me as well putting it together! Hope you are well my friend!
Great tips 👏🏻

well I just want to die tbh, my friends are successful I can't find a job im 34 years old I doubt about myself ,I don't have more motivation , my friend just moved Australia to study and now she has a job, she's an architect , my cousin is a journalist 3 times Emmy winner making documentaries ,
I’m so sorry to hear that, but I believe in you. Take one small step forward.
Maybe don't do tiktoks from your cars
Touché Julia. Touché.
I feel this video to my core. So many times, I put off things I should do the day I have them planned. But I blame my moods since I am Bipolar. Though, when I think back to when my life had better structure, I was happier then. So now I am trying to do things on the day I have them scheduled. Small changes equal bigger and better outcomes, aka a better life. 😊
Yes! Thank you for being open and honest. Keep going!
Hi. I stumbled upon your video by chance. Thank you for sharing. I love that quote where there's hope in the future there's power in the present. That's lovely. I like it precisely b/c today I had a day where I set out to do a task, but the day took me in a different direction and ended up fruitless. Those days are in my opinion hardest to accept when trying to reach a goal; days where you've done something necessary but it was more of a process of elimination than visible results. My 3 favourite books which impacted my life are: POWER VS FORCE by Dr. David Hawkins. I don't read a lot of self-help but I've read this 5 times. The other two books are novels and while I know it feels different to read a novel, I've read both so many times and I've learned so much from the authors that I am grateful they were put on my path. The first novel is Catcher in the Rye and the other is Jane Eyre.
Great to virtually meet you Marta! And thank you for commenting! That quote about hope is probably one of my favourites. I know it might feel like you made no progress today, but just by writing the words in your comment I assure you that you did. Keep going. And thank you for sharing your recommendations! Great fiction expands the mind. 😃
@@JasonAlcott Thanks for your positive feedback. I don't think there's enough of it in the everyday. I'm writing a novel myself; that's my dream. Maybe it's not some genius thing like Jane Eyre, but it does deal with issues of today. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. You should read and review a novel once in a while. There's a channel Booksaresick which I follow and it is growing faster than any other book channel I have seen. Good luck!
Keep writing that book and thanks for the recommendations!
I needed this. Thank you! 💜
You got this!
TH-cam is simple. Just make videos people are already searching for.
Thanks for the comment.
I see a picture of a wife, but don't hear any acknowledgement of the support she undoubtedly provides to *allow* those spaces in time. That's a pretty big oversight imo
Excellent point. I definitely missed the importance of my beautiful wife. Couldn’t do it without her. Thanks for the comment.
