Welcome to Lupus Canada’s official account on TH-cam. The purpose of this account is to further Lupus Canada’s vision and mission, support learning, and enhance communication with patients, parents/guardians, volunteers, and community members.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation in one or more parts of the body. A complex disease, it can target any tissue or organ of the body including skin, muscles, joints, blood, lungs, heart, kidneys and the brain. Men, women and children can be diagnosed with lupus but between the ages of 15 and 45, nine times more women than men are diagnosed.
Lupus is under-funded and under-recognized, therefore making it life-altering and life-threatening. While lupus is a serious condition, in most cases it can be treated and controlled. Diagnosis and treatment are improving, allowing people to live increasingly active and productive lives.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work.❤ Joyeuse fêtes à vous aussi!
isnt garlic not recommended for autoimmune/lupus foods?
Great question! Garlic is a common ingredient in many diets, but its effects can vary as dietary needs are highly individual. It's always best to consult your doctor or dietitian to determine what works best for you. Personalized advice ensures your diet supports your overall health and wellness.
My grandma landis had lupus and my great aunt audrey
Thanks❤!
Great presentation, as a fellow man fighting Lupus I find the mental side of it most frustrating, I was a "big strong man" who working a regular job and ran a farm at home. Fixed most things myself, built most things myself and would work until the work was done. Now I watch and it is devastating. I am very lucky to have a supportive wife and family whom have picked up the slack and do all the work.
❤ OMG so fabulous and precious! I'm crying happy tears.
Good morning, a favor. I have very controlled lupus and I will soon travel to Quebec, Canada, as I do to register for the medical check-ups and delivery of my medications program thanks
I would definitely ask for proper diagnosis. Make ANA testing more available to patients instead of waiting for years and years. I ask myself why won’t the doctors give this test if it’s readily available.
Does anyone test for Q10 levels especially out of the vascular system?
I have also lupus 😢
Wonderful -- Happy Holidays to all & Joyeuses fetes a toutes et a tous!!! It is nice to put a face to a name from the Board members.
Thank you so much and the same to all of you!!!
I send you love from France!😊 Thank you for who you are, you are a beautiful and very brave person! Thank you for the videos you share, it is a support for me (I have a lupus too).
Thanks a lot, from France!😊
Thanks for all your hard work 🙏🏼
Thank you for all your hard work to create awareness 🙏🏼
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas!
Great Podcast Video. Its difficult to find information specifically for mens lupus online. Back in January 2023 my family doctor had a couple blood tests performed due to "Classic" lupus symptoms such as photo sensitivy, nose sores and Raynauds symptoms. My ANA was slightly positive and the my Anti dsDNA was high. I saw a Rheumatologist in august 2023 and he said that those positive results were probably a one off, he ran the bloods again and the Anti dsDNA had risen since January. I have not heard back from the rheum yet about what he thinks of the tests results. After watching this video it is apparent that fatigue is a common symptom among these fellows. Thank you for the video!
