Ok so I had it mixed up. The GI Joe special cover is a Mcfarlane homage. But the interiors are in fact by Todd himself.

I wanted to comment on how Burnham art on #4 looks so much like the original Mirage work. It captures a real 80s indy comics look.

Jerry Ordway was buddies with Erik Larsen, if I remember from the later Savage Dragon letters column they met while working on the Eclipse DNAgents book in the 80s and Erik would call him up from time to time to bounce ideas past him and Jerry had that pinup Erik published with hopes of getting traction to launch a book centered around the character. Jerry co-created Wildstar who pops up in Savage Dragon and vice versa.

As a big Captain Marvel fan since the 90’s, it’s beautiful to see Carol been written so so well, so in character in a team book. he’s doing such a great job with everybody. I’ve been enjoying reading the Avengers again and with her as the leader! The art, bro it is brutal!

I know nothing about the savage dragon but always thought the character looked cool. This was interesting.
