I have a Laurastar. Great iron, but starts to leak and then the dreaded brown water. Real shame as there is often no way to repair so you have the replace. Poor customer service doesn’t help either.

This works...thanks. But be sure and wear protective gloves! 3% hydrogen peroxide will cause your skin to "burn" and feel discomfort. To relieve the burning sensation, run cold water over your skin for fifteen minutes.

Thanks so much for your video--so helpful! It never occurred to me to check the ready light throughout my ironing, but that solved my problem. I use a Sumbeam Steam Master iron.

Every rowenta i have owned ends up leaking so not enthralled with this. I wonder 2 years later how it is performing. It’s a shame because I hate to keep throwing these irons in the landfill because they don’t work properly in the end. Maybe I will try the black and decker since I seem to be replacing so often I do use one for sewing and one for regular household ironing so I have two rowentas, both not pleased with!

I have that same Rowenta and scalding hot water will gush out from around where the electric cord goes into the iron. I paid a lot for that iron and took very good care of it. Within a year it started leaking horribly. If I was sitting and pressing the scalding water would burn my legs. When I called Rowenta they didn't seem concerned that their product was leaking water from around the power cord and scalding people and was basically told that it's a year old and not their problem.

I just shined up two very expensive brand new black scrub tops that I just got in the mail. $83 each for black trauma scrub tops and no matter what I tried, I couldn't stop the shine, I guess the iron was set too high, I should have turned it down before starting to iron. 🙃🤦‍♂🤦‍♂
