Driving a Bristol RE
A short footage of yours truly taking a Gardner 180-engined Bristol RE for a drive through the lanes of Gloucestershire. GCL 349N, an Eastern Coach Works-bodied RELL6G (Rear Engine, Long chassis, Low Floor, 6 cylinder, Gardner) was built in December 1974 and delivered new to the National Bus Company’s Eastern Counties operation in early 1975. Equipped with ‘dual purpose’ coach seating, it was used mainly on excursion and express work around Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

A Dusty Day Out

Filmed between lockdowns during the long, hot summer of 2020, we take a ride around Salisbury Plain in Helga, the 'Lightweight' Land Rover. We used an ApeMan 'action camera' mounted to the top of the Dexion radio rack, giving a good idea of what it's like to drive a 40-something year Land Rover, especially on rough terrain. The 200mph Bus Ride

Join me as I drive a bus from Bradford on Avon to Bath in 5 minutes! This was filmed in August 2020 when the roads were quiet and passengers were few and far between. The footage has been sped up by roughly 4X to create the impression of the bus doing 200mph along the A363 through Sally In The Woods

If you're out and about on Salisbury Plain during a week day, chances are you'll spot something large, green and full of soldiers. This day was no exception. Making an appearance is a Trojan AVRE (Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers) and a FV430 'Bulldog' troop carrier, both out from Tidworth for training.

If you've ever owned a Land Rover, or any other retro/classic car for that matter, you'll know that they tend to rust for a pastime. Helga is no different, especially being a product of Solihull in the 1980s. Anyway, splashing through puddles on Salisbury Plain is a difficult urge to resist...
