My actual issue with Dungeons and Discourse is the bad journalism that specifically obfuscates important details causing people to be upset over nothing instead of actually serious issues like abuse.

@@alexanderchippel Agreed - that's worse. The paranoia stems from the same point of view and therefore, it's hard to tell how much she actually believes. It starts with a fact and then she builds enough baseless fearmongering to make a clickbait title and thumbnail. It doesn't matter what the baseless assumptions are as long as they drive clicks. Hating on someone is of course an easy way to get clicks, so she'll make sure there's a bad guy to blame. WotC are easy targets. Her conclusions might be tight, they might not. It doesn't matter to her either way, from what I can tell because there's no journalism. I'm all for holding companies accountable, but not yelling at them for what you haven't checked at all. Then it's better to just pirate what you need, shrug, and move along...

@@vincentwinqvist4023 I don't think you're really getting what I'm saying. Like shitting on WotC constantly is fine. Making it seem like some really bad shits going to happen with the IP is scummy but not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Framing the abuse of a woman as nothing more than an inconvenience to the audience is sickening. Making the suggestion that totally innocent people are possibly guilty of sexual abuse or charity fraud or straight up theft is extremely irresponsible.

@@zenjr1004 1. Criticism is always acceptable. Especially when what you're criticizing is extremely unethical. 2. It's not clickbait, it's my opinion. Dungeons & Discourse doesn't offer opinions. All of the videos either make wild accusations that are totally unfounded, or a bury the lead and under report serious abuse. Dungeons & Discourse made a video about how "Critical Role is going away from TH-cam!" You have to get halfway through the video before she says "Actually, they're not going away, they just got rid of a lot of videos." And it takes till almost the very end of the video until you find out that the reason those videos were removed was because the guy in them was horribly abusive to Ashley Johnson. As a journalist it is your duty to report information accurately and clearly. Dungeons and Discourse does neither of those things. She is a bad journalist. And you should never encourage bad journalism.

@@alexanderchippel I did write my comment before watching the video. Would also confess that while this is quite immoral I’m not sure I care that much or an average viewer does. People are often milking using or defaming others. At this point this is just mildly annoying. I don’t like them because I feel like their content is a cheap rage-bate and that’s it.

The thing that frustrates me the most is that her videos are at least 40% hyperbole, and her accent only makes it worse.

Far too many times I've had peers, *_even friends_* (troublingly enough), defending outrightly-disgusting behaviour, primarily because they viewed any criticism as... well, wilfully blind at best. My 2 favourite arguments they used are: a) it's done as satire (when it clearly wasn't), and b) even though it _is_ untrue, what they say, at least it raises awareness to a very real problem. [!?]

I just uploaded a video talking about this trend. People will defend terrible content as long as it supports their ideology.

I scrolled through a little bit and I see a shit ton of AI nonsense and it immediately makes me think it's some kind of content mill. I'll have to check it out later but my immediate thoughts are it's not nearly as bad because the titles of the videos don't seem to imply any kind of nefarious activity is being committed by those who haven't really done anything

In the future,maybe stay away from the insults and stick to the facts. Dungeons and discourse is bad. They rely on massive amounts of padding to lead into a long ad read before even getting to the topic. The padding is specificallyvdesigned to give the listener a bad impression of whatever they are talking about before you even know what yheyvare talking about. It is also full of massive amounts of click bait and generally only has about 3 minutes of actual relevant information in any given video. That formula rakes in the money, and honestly, it is nothing I would want to watch. They do the same thing with Warhammer, and anything else they are talking about. But they do not deserve insults. I Now, don't let this discourage you. You will find your own way of communicating and develop into a better youtuber. I seriously hope it is a nice youtuber we can all enjoy.

And? If it looks cool, then the most realistic scenario is that it's a prop. Do people put real skeletons up for Halloween? No.

Why would Trudy keep an actual human skeleton sitting in a booth at the Drumkin Diner? What's more realistic? A man died in the didn't and for 200 years has been sitting there undisturbed, including all the years Trudy and her son operated in the same room, or that it was just a plastic Halloween decoration that was left behind on account of the bombs dropping just before Halloween?

Shady Sands is in the wrong part of California. The Brotherhood is still around in California even though they shouldn't. House is portrayed as being part of The Enclave even though nothing he says or does a New Vegas would suggest that. House is betrayed as being purely driven by profits instead of a desire for the advancement of humanity which is how he's portrayed in the game. And then there's the issue of Vault-Tech/The Enclave being responsible for the Great War, which completely goes against the entire theme of the West Coast Fallout games, including New Vegas.

It certainly explains why everyone is totally fine with skeletons just being all over their settlements. Like that one road stop the chem dealers are harassing after meeting Trashcan Carla has a skeleton sitting in a booth. There's no way they'd be living their for years and not get rid of an actually dead body. It has to be a prop.

Fishtank Season 2 was so bad that Sam fired Jet.

@@alexanderchippel tbh i didnt even watch s2 fishtank the first season was enough for me to get that vibe but after watching some clips of jimmy you're right on the nose i feel sam woulda been this kid if he'd had a slightly harder life dont think his ego would ever let him consider that fact for a minute though sadly

Yeah it was a nice experiment but I'm not going to do them anymore unless it's something really, really big and I have a lot of time to do it. Bill was nice learning how my editing software worked so I can use it for my other videos.
