Steal can be fun and useful if you have a guide. Otherwise, why would you ever use it? It's an ability that wastes your turn 90% of the time and only gives you something worthwhile less than 1% of time (since you have to be fighting one of the few enemies worth stealing from AND get lucky). I have similar issues with Blue Magic and Mix. Yet, despite that, Final Fantasy V is quite possibly my favorite game in the mainline series.

Lol i was actually looking for a ff4 steal guide, but decided to watch this for nostalgia, as this was the first ff game i ever played. Awesome to know that i didnt miss a single unique steal! 😂

About 8 years ago I did a playthrough of FF5 collecting 5 of each armor and 9 of each weapon (or as many as possible if 5/9 is not possible). It took a whlie but it was a lot of fun. As you go over in the video, the game is full of interesting items to steal. It makes exploration really fun.

Brooo😭 I managed to get stuck on the ultra takikodus fight at 11pm and I had to go to sleep. Unfortunately, I had made a lot of changes to my characters, their equipment and my items, and my last save was more than 10 mins from then. I had to go to sleep, but if I did, I'd have lost progress I'd very well have forgotten the next day. I looked for fights online and came across yours. Man, you have no idea how much you've saved me. Randomly customising weapons, I decided to fuck the deadly edge and customise it. I did that to the result as well and ended up with the aeterna. I looked it up and that's the most powerful sword in the game! I made quick work of takikodus, and came here to type this. God bless you, man!🔥🔥😭

aerith can now do disk 2 and 3 but you gotta cheese disk 1 and skip a large part of the game so technically she could equip minerva brand in some play throughs tho if your gonna skip disk 1 youre probably gonna skip the raid on midgar too so that would be missed i think

The only question I have is "Is there no useful steals in the GBA post game?" Considering the footage, I was somewhat hoping to see that too, even if the PR version doesn't have it.

Another factor for limits to consider is the 7777. I went into the emerald weapon battle with everyone limit full all with 7777. Limits override turn ordee. He only got 2 attacks in before i defeated him

even WITH KoTR lv 34 is TOO low it will kill you in 1 HIT WITHOUT at least 8000 to 8500 MAX HP as in EVEN UNDER Sadness I COULD have Emerald Shoot HIT HIM for like 8500 damage. EVEN at lv 60 I would NOT have 4x 2x CUT or EVEN Omnislash do 9999 PER hit to it Slash all at LV 60 I would still barely have IT do 2000 to all targets including its eyes.

Do you have any idea how gratifying it is to watch a younger generations do in-depth tutorials of games people my age grew up with? It's great seeing new gens getting to experience and enjoy these classics.

Missed Blitz Whip from Flaremancers. Also, Sehkmet can be Captured after being stolen from for more Thieves Gloves without running away. I think you mentioned Protect Ring from Soul Cannon but didn't show it. Pretty good list. Covering neat or unique drops would show off even more of the game. There's a lot of cool items in this game IMO. At least with Twintania, the axe is a common steal while chraging Gigaflare. Too bad Tinkerbell is a rare drop NOT while charging Gigaflare, so certainly the most annoying battle.

Just a note on this. Was having a little trouble getting the first method to work, and the issue was my initial jump was too high and the horizontal slashes could miss too easily. Just take off the high jump ability and you should be all set if you have this issue.

Thank you for making this video. You answered a question I had about the mechanics that I couldn’t find or really overlooked on the wiki. Thief glove does help rare steals. Everywhere I read said fixed 40-80% nothing boost rare steals, but by nature of increasing the chance that steal hits, it does. Thank you for clarifying.

The rpoblem is they are so hard to spawn and the area is not easy to reload.

Good video, hard to hear you a bit but I understood everything just the same. I gotta say the Titan, Gaia hammer steal, is one of the most frustrating steals to get and it makes me REALLY happy they added the autosave feature. To me that's the FF9 Fairy Flute equivalent, two very powerful items early in their games but you have to give up on searching for a career to have a chance to steal it.

It's worth noting that the Fire Powered Ship is only inaccessible during the first world during the brief period between completing the Library of the Ancients and acquiring the airship, it's right next to the airship when you land it at the Catapult, though in most scenarios you probably don't need hi potions enough for going back there to be worth it

This is so incredibly clever. I love it. So so so much more efficient than any other strategy I've seen (or come up with haha). It seems simple, but it shows a huge understanding of all the systems in the game, I'm truly impressed.

Good video - honestly, the biggest point made is that Omnislash is far above every other Limit.

I always gave steal to the character with the highest luck value, thinking that improved my odds 🤦‍♂️
