Just to set the record straight, Eva had been diagnosed with melanoma previously, but was considered to be in remission. At the time of this performance, she wasn't showing any signs of cancer and was unaware she was not cured. Within a few months of this recording , it was discovered the cancer hand returned and spread. She put up a good fight and in October of 1996 ended a benefit concert in her honor by getting up on stage, with help, and singing the last song she would ever sing in public, knowing she was dying. She chose to sing "Wonderful World". Six weeks later she passed away.
