Chasing the BNSF Local 9
Yes I am still a railfanner, however this does NOT mean that Railfanner Theo is coming back.
Engine Consist:
BNSF 1648: EMD SD40-2 built for the Santa Fe.
BNSF 1424: EMD SD60M “Triclops” built for the Burlington Northern.
Train symbol:
BNSF “Local 9”.
Starting Point:
BNSF local yard, Wichita KS.
Filmed:
Along the K-15 Highway, from Wichita to Derby.
Specialties about BNSF 1648:
• Still maintains its original Santa Fe “Bluebonnet” scheme.
• Has its original EMD Steel Bell (which coincidentally sounds like an old SOU GP38-2HH Steel Bell)
• Bell is mounted underneath the front staircase of the locomotive. (from what I could tell)
