April is Second Chance Month! During an expungement event in Glynn County last fall, we asked partners, volunteers, and attendees the question: why are second chances important? Hear what they said in this video. “To me, ‘second chances’ is about recognizing that there is a justice system that overburdens people who are poor, and people of color. That’s just a fact. And so ‘second chances’ is a...

I've been asked by some folks for my contact info, and each time I've tried to do so, my comments in that thread disappear. So- folks looking to offload their petitions for pardon and restoration of rights to a professional (me!), my profile should have the info for which you're looking. Best- Adam Pardon

I went for early termination as requested by the PO. All fines paid most community service done. First Offender, and no violations. The Judge declined. Was told by the DA that this new law of early termination is never granted. Then why call me to court. Waste of time. Wasted work day.
How long do you have now on probation
Hello everyone, Calvin Jones here, and I am happy to share my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the Georgia Justice Project. Recently, I had the honor of participating in their video shoot for "Grass Roots Justice: Empowering Change with Georgia Justice Project," and I want to take a moment to thank them for this incredible opportunity. The work that the Georgia Justice Project does is more than just legal representation. They restore hope, dignity, and possibilities for individuals like me, who have been impacted by past mistakes. They embody compassion and justice, making a lasting positive impact on our society. Thank you, Georgia Justice Project, for your exceptional service, dedication, and belief in second chances. You have been a blessing in my life, and I am forever grateful. 📻 I know I have a face just for radio, but I'm happy to tell the world about the Georgia Justice Project! 🎥
Calvin what would you tell your 20 year old self?

Will you receive a document/statement to verify that you have are no longer on probation?. Or how do you get such statement.
I received my pardon in 2020. However they didn't give me the gun rights. They have denied my appeal 3 times. I may have a compelling argument that could potentially rewrite the process for everyone. Who do I call?
What was your charge how long has it been etc
Armed Robbery and I was released nearly 11 years and haven't even caught a speeding ticket.
@@XconMedia Hi- I help folks who have been in this situation. When firearms rights are denied, you can petition again two years after the decision. In this new application, you will need to make a persuasive argument that things are materially different than they were the last time you applied. That might include including a substance abuse evaluation, an on-line firearms safety course (for hunters, for example), or perhaps new references from your prior applications who can give a different perspective to the board than they'd had before. -Adam Pardon
Question: how might transferring my probation to another state affect my eligibility for early termination?
Watched the entire video and don't know how to contact this organization. please inform us. Many thanks
I'd think the easiest would be to go to their website. It contains contact information.
Starting at 32:12 to 32:40 this applies to me so what is my next step? I have emailed about this situation.
Congratulations Aaron
Greetings Bro. Doug Ammar...Titus from Brooklyn...Blessings...Peace....
Thank you for this info! Ive actually recently turned in my application for reinstating my gun rights.getting 3 letters of character and notorized was hardest for me. My home appointment interview is next Thursday and im just nervous and dont want to screw this up because ive been trying to get this process done for over 10yrs now
I received one early this year. It is possible and I wish you the best.
Hey- how did it go??? For most of my clients, the reference letters are the most stressful part of the process. In my consultancy, I help folks determine their best references, and then I interview the references, write a draft of a reference letter based on our conversation, and then send it to them for review. I'm also a notary public, and can help on that end.
I have a felony in Hall County in July of 1987. Can I get help please. I live in Ky now
If this is still something you are looking into, my business, Adam Pardon, helps folks petition for pardon and rights restoration. Many of my clients now live in different states from the state of their conviction(s). If I can assist (I handle all aspects of the process), let me know.
I have been on probation in GA for 4 years and have had no issues or problems did all the classes and everything I was supposed to and I don't feel like the probation office here is following the law for early termination what should I do?
Is there a office in Atlanta
I am not part of Georgia Justice, nor an attorney, but am an independent pardon consultant in Atlanta. For the past four years I have helped clients petition for pardon and restoration of rights across the country. -Adam Pardon

Well seems like to me this sb 105 is not honored in the court I went to in GA 4 years later still on probation smh
Bless you Tonya
This is all well and good, however, if probation officers will not communicate with probationers they have been assigned to, probationers will be, and are being deprived of their opportunity to seek early termination. Probationers will be left trying to navigate early termination alone.
Hello! If you are not receiving a response from your probation officer, you can contact early.termination@dcs.ga.gov and they will help you through the early termination process. If you are still experiencing issues, please reach out to Probation@GJP.org for assistance.
Congratulations to Aaron!
How can someone who is not an attorney or paralegal volunteer their time to help to help probationers?
This is a good thing for all those on probation and qualifies for early termination. However, DCS has got to do a better job identifying eligible people. Part of that is communicating with probationers when they call their probation officer. If a probation officer does not return any phone calls made by a probationer how are they supposed to pursue early termination?
So DCS will automatically file for termination after 3 years?
Great info
How do I get my probation officer to request early determination of probation
Terry did you receive a response from them? It appears you did not. Have you been successful with this since you posted the question 1 year ago. I am very interested to see how it is going for you and to hear if you have gotten anywhere with this.
