When you talk about Instagram changing and people moving away from posting I relate. I am tired of being sold to. That’s why I’ve left Instagram. I am a painter and have not made an artwork for over 12 months. No motivation. Loving knitting instead.
I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying knitting. I feel like we can move away from other art forms and then we may find our way back. Perhaps you will find your way back to painting again one day. 🌻
Amy I’ve just found this channel and I’d love to know a bit more about your story. What lead you to homesteading etc? How’d you decide where to buy your farm? I’m a new knitter so love seeing your knits. Also coincidentally I discovered that my partner follows your gardening page, haha I think the algorithm has worked us out. Anyway love these videos. Thanks for all your efforts.
Hi, welcome to my creative channel! Funny how the algorithm works that way and your partner follows my gardening channel. We wanted to grow our own food and have animals, so we started learning for years about how to care for animals and continued experimenting in the garden of our rental growing food. We looked for land we could afford and that’s what lead us to this land. We weren’t allowed to build a house here, but managed to get through the planning department and build. We didn’t want to be too far away from Melbourne but also wanted a good amount of land. I hope that answers your questions. Thanks for being here! 🌻
I would definitely love to see some of your mending during vlogmas! I have a blanket and cardigan I need to mend but for some reason I feel very nervous to try it.
I will definitely be doing lots of mending. The large mending pile is getting too big! I can understand being nervous. I was when I first started. I have a few videos on this channel on mending techniques if you’d like to watch them. They might help you. 🌻
I’m very excited to start opening my advent!
Yay! Can’t wait for you to start it either!
It is so good to see you again. I was wondering how you were doing. You are such a busy lady. I didn’t realize that you are working outside the home now. Im happy to hear you and your family are doing well, and I’m looking forward to seeing your Vlogmas videos. I too am missing sharing advents, had thought about one. Maybe next year. I’ll try to write more often. See you soon. Kathleen 😊
Yes let’s swap an advent next year! I feel like I’ll be ready to do it again by then. I hope you are well and enjoying entering winter time. Take care 🌻
Lovely to see you again!
Thank you for watching!
Hi Amy, I love your leaf prints!
Thank you Nadine! ❤️
You got a good haul. Love the rose pink & new Copper skein you bought -will be beautiful when knitted up. Thanks for showing off your goodies & the show. I can't believe I've never heard about the Bendigo Wool Show & I live in Victoria - Longford / Sale. Definitely going next year. I mentioned it to my crafty knitting friend yesterday & she had never heard about it either. Bendigo needs to do more advertising but sounds like alot of people attend over the weekend. So hopefully that will be a fun weekend away together next year - putting on the to-do list! We are about to go on a 2mth holiday together overseas - America, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii & New Zealand then home via Sydney as we are cruising home for something different. Woohoo I can't wait but will miss my partner & pooch - longest holiday I've ever been on. We are taking wool with us to knit whilst on bus tour but also want to find wool shops & buy new beautiful colours to bring home. Just because we can & love knitting and so relaxing. Cheers have a good weekend.
It’s such a big wool show and the biggest sheep show in the world they say. It’s definitely worth going and I hope you enjoy visiting next year. There’s so much to see. Your cruise sounds like so much fun, have a wonderful time exploring for wool shops! You will have so much knitting and relaxing time. Enjoy!
Love your channel ❤ It is great to see you back again. Your videos are always so relaxing and inspiring and clear and professional camera work. Thank you xx If possible, I would love to see how you unravel a sweater, snippets of your hand making. I will subscribe to your other channel 😊.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad my videos come across that way. I shall video my unravelling of projects when I come to it and shall include some of the making too. Thank you for the suggestions. Amy x
Lovely to see another episode from you. It is a very nice feeling when a knitwear recipient keeps asking for updates on their project. You know it will be loved and worn to death.
Thank you, it’s good to be back to recording episodes. I feel very blessed to have children who love what I make for them. ❤️
Great seeing you! Have fun knitting.
Thanks Margo, I’ve been getting some knitting time, yay! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend.
Lovely to see you again Amy 🥰 All the best with the Advent calendar and looking forward to more from you in the future. I have been enjoying the farm footage on your other channel 😊
Thank you so much! It's so lovely to be filming episodes again and I'm hoping to be back very soon for another.
How lovely to see your episode popping up on my subscription list ! I enjoyed watching it whilst having breakfast this morning and shall soon trot off to your shop to get the apron pattern! By the sound of it, you have had to make some important changes but it’s not always a bad thing, even if/when it is a bit unsettling at the start when you need to readjust… But I caught myself voicing aloud “me too!” when you talked about your new job! I have been a support worker for 5 years after nearly 30 of teaching! I do get the same buzz from it and although sometimes very exhausting, it does fill my cup to the point of overflowing! Wishing you a peaceful weekend! 🤗
Thank you so much! So glad to hear you were pleased to see this episode pop up in your feed. I hope you enjoy making your own Aimee apron!! It’s such a rewarding job isn’t it! 5 years, well done! 👏 I’m coming up to 1 year and loving it, although yes it can be exhausting, especially this week as I’ve worked every day except today (cause it my birthday 😉). Thank you for watching! 🌻
@@muddybootsmaker Happy birthday, Amy! I hope that your day will be filled with loads of little pleasures and treasures! I have just bought your pattern and shall have a go during my next holiday break! 🎂
@nathaliebourre3578 thank you so much! ❤️
I am happy to hear you are working as a Support Workerk. I have 4 Support Workers who are invaluable and my life is so much better now than before the NDIS! My whole family appreciates them and the positive effect they have on my life. 💜 Congratulations on your pattern release!
It’s such a rewarding job and I love helping those who need assistance. So glad you have the support you need! ❤️ It makes it so much easier for you and your family. Thanks for watching! 🌻
So exciting to see you here Amy! Congratulations again on your very beautiful pattern. I'm super intrigued by what you have next too. (Please say it's an Aimee dress?!? 😍)
Thank you Brooke, it’s been so lovely having you as a tester. You are correct! 😍 I’m hoping an Aimee dress 🤞 I’ll play around and see where it gets me. I like how the process takes me on a journey that I don’t expect sometimes, so let’s see what happens! x
@@muddybootsmaker Oh yay! This is so exciting. As I was sewing I kept thinking 'this would make the cutest pinafore dress' 😍
Congratulations! Great to see you again on TH-cam and all the best with your new pattern ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
You are so gorgeous so beautiful
You are so pretty
Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2024 Amy and to your lovely family. I have been gardening and tidying up my yard as my sons redid my fence around my house( it is cattle proof again...Yay!). Spending time quilting and celebrating with friends and family. I am grateful for the lovely rain we have recently had on my farm. xx
Merry Christmas Carol! Enjoy gardening in your fenced off space, how lovely! We’ve had rain here too and the garden and paddocks are looking so happy. xx
Hi Amy, firstly Merry Christmas to you and your family. I’ve spent a lovely day with my parents, daughter, sister and nephew today. This evening we are going to relax and watch films. I have a jigsaw on the go and some crafts if I get the urge. Presents are wrapped and distributed. Count me in to test your pattern! See you after Xmas or in the New Year xxx
Merry Christmas Kate! Sounds like you are having such beautiful times with your family and making lovely memories. Enjoy! I’ll pop you down for a tester for the apron, thank you! xx
Merry Christmas from Austria to Australia. Thank you for your Vlogmas 🎄😊
Thank you! I hope you have a beautiful day ❤️🎄
The hats look wonderful! I need to make some for myself and family as we are in summer as well. Take care xx
Thank you, it’s such a great pattern and they are reversible which is great! 🌻
Love the wombat wreath. Never seen one before.
I can’t remember where I got it, but when I saw it I had to have it! Love wombats ❤️
Your mums runner is lovely. What a long table you have. Everything is beautifully decorated. Not long now xxx
It is so lovely, she’s very clever. Latham and my dad made our table. We wanted it to be big enough for many to sit around and also for us to do homeschool at one end and still be able to eat at the other end 😉. Not long now indeed! xx
Lovely fabrics 😊 the kids will have beautiful hats for summer!
They will! Thank you 🌻
love the pinks and purples on your knitting project! thank you for this lovely video. i think this time of year is too focussed on what people want, so it's good to take to reflect on how much we already have and be grateful for it. i love baking rhubarb and then putting it on porridge for breakfast. i do a big batch and then freeze it in small portions.
Thank you, it is lovely to reflect on what we have. Rhubarb on porridge sounds so yummy! I spent yesterday making so many things with rhubarb. Yum! ❤️
It is a busy time of year, take cake Amy and enjoy time with family ❤
Thank you Sylvia x
Lovely as always Amy, thank you! 🌟 I'm also really enjoying Emma's vlogmas (Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co), & Amber from A Lovely Yarn ❤
Thank you Emily, I love both those channels and have been thinking I need to watch their vlogmas x
I bought some of Charlotte's cards last year when she was saving for her new printer and i have to say that her artwork has grown even more in the last year! She is so talented! ❤
I was thinking of that time last year. Her artwork has developed so much over the past few years, those cards were her 2019-2020 artwork, so it’s changed so much each year. She draws and paints everyday so really makes a difference. She’s so glad she has her scanner now as she can do so much with it. Thank you for your support of her work! ❤️
Amy you are amazing at being able to get so much done. Please take time for yourself. I have been taking it easy myself. Started early this year with gifts and will stop now so I’m not making any at the moment. Enjoying your vlog so much. Kat in Oklahoma.
Thank you Kat, I do need some rest time. This last week was crazy and I’m now feeling that wind down. I’m going to close my shop and focus on being in the moment. It’s hard to stop at this time of year here with the garden and everything, but there will be pockets of time now. ❤️
I have one more present to knit for my daughter and would love to finish a crochet summer top soon so I can wear it as the weather is getting warmer. Where do you get the wire for sun hats? I have a sun hat but it is very floppy and would like to add something to the brim to give it shape.
I got the wire from House of Adorn (which was recommended by the designer of the hat pattern I use). Good luck with your gift making and getting your top done for summer. I’m eyeing off a crochet pattern, but I can’t crochet and do other things (like looking at a movie) at the same time, so I’ll have to steal moments here and there to work on it. So looking forward to getting back into my craft!
It is such a pleasure to spend time with you Amy 😊 I enjoy watching all you do in the kitchen. Can you tell me what do you use the garlic honey for? Colds and flu?
Thank you Sylvia, I’m so glad you enjoy watching my videos. This is my first time making garlic infused honey and yes it’s for cold and flu and to boost the immune system. 🌻
@@muddybootsmaker I will have to try the garlic infused honey 🍯
It sounds like you have been doing a lot Amy, take care of yourself ❤. Your garden is so wonderful, I also have tomatoes on the plants, only tiny but much earlier than last year 😊
Thank you, yes I’m having a more resting week next week. Feel better today now that I’ve completed my second last workshop. Enjoy watching your tomatoes grow! 🌻
Oooooh I love your present wraps. I’ll keep that in mind for Xmas. We went to see my parents (3 hour round trip) and had lunch with them and my sister. She’s just come back from a months holiday in Japan. I taught my sister how to make jute flowers and talked to my niece on the phone. She’s just like me, making things all the time. Tomorrow we’re going to forage some greenery for the wreath we hang on the front door and I’ve got some lavender bags to finish off. Have a good day tomorrow (maybe it’s actually today for you?). Xx
@katebrooks4185 hi Kate, what a lovely time you are having with your family! Sounds so lovely and just the sort of vibe I want to be stepping into next week. It’s Charlottes grading today and I’m not sure I’ll find time to film, so thinking I’ll take the day off and come back on Monday. I’m very keen to go foraging and find items to make a wreath too, sounds so lovely. Enjoy! ❤️
It’s pretty gloomy and cold here right now, watching your videos definitely inspires me, love getting your gifts in the mail every month too!
So glad to bring some inspiration to you! Thank you so much for your beautiful support x
We get our tree this Saturday - rain also expected. The weather gets even more of a lottery in December, just to keep us on our toes! Extreme heat? Flooding rains? Freezing wind? I think we have had every possibility in the years of visiting the Christmas Tree farm!
The weather is so unpredictable! Although I think I expect it to bounce back and forth now ;) I hope you have a lovely time getting your tree!
Hello there - this might be a little late but there’s a beautiful blanket called the Sweet Shop Blanket by Laura Penrose which is just beautiful when knitted using Advents - best wishes from Elizabeth in Hobart ❤
I've just looked up that pattern and it's beautiful! I might just need to cast it on ;) Thank you!
@@muddybootsmaker no worries at all!! I think it’s gorgeous too- she has a cushion version too- the Stella cushion and that’s also lovely 🥰 have lots of fun 🤩
I've just been talking about the cushion pattern on todays vlog, ha ha! I purchased the pattern and think I'll make a few cushions first. Thank you!
@@muddybootsmaker Great - I think I’ll buy them both too! We had a very busy weekend and I’ve gotten all behind with my Vlogmases !!! Hence why I was only watching your first one 😜
What a beautiful day..that risotto looked good...TFS...don't feel to bad , I too am not feeling the Christmas vibe even with the decorations
Thank you, that makes me feel like I'm not the only one! I hope we both get some Christmas vibes eventually!
Lucienne crochet has a lovely blanket or the Habitation throw by Helen Stewart 😊
Thank you so much! I will check them out.
