Southwest jumped the shark about a dozen years ago. Haven't flown them since. I don't even bother to compare prices to Southwest anymore.
Chipotle is a ripoff. Completely overpriced.
I scrolled down the comment section for good 2 min and couldn’t find one comment mentioning this, ever heard of an OS by name of HarmonyOS. It is from a company named Huawei. And no the system isn’t only build for the phones but also for pads and computers (of course it won’t have the range of software Windows or iOS do). I believe recently in an interview, a Huawei higher-up mentioning they are preparing to switch to Harmony when US gov ban them from using Windows.

Target has the curb side delivery and Shipt along with any other app I don’t know about. I do Shipt every day and deliver at least 7-17 orders a day more on the weekends. So im getting that many customers I can’t imagine how many in store customers they’re losing as a whole

Warren Buffett stated this many years ago, the business has no significant moat, so it's a race to the bottom for margins..
That is always the argument for these, so-called "disruptive" "Innovations": remove the human element to lower costs, except that works for like a year after full adoption; then, before you know it, cost to the user/consumer shoots right back right back up to what it was before the human was removed from the equation. The old, capitalistic, bait & switch.
Your example doesn’t include the benefit of a better product. Even if the price stayed the same you could say the customer is getting more value bc the product was improved
@@Maxinomics You don't know if it's an actual better product, though. Sure in a vacuum only looking at the rideshare experience but what about everything it affects? Are utilities going to have to make a rate-case appeal yearly to handle charging for these fleets YoY - increasing electricity costs for everyone? What will the effects be on traffic? The existing Uber/Lyft drivers aren't all going to get remote jobs. Is that going to force cities to accelerate transportation infrastructure they didn't plan for to handle the additional load? People are correct to be skeptical because "better" technology in this day and age is simply that which can be scaled with the least friction, not because it's the best solution. Plus this whole better product argument goes out the window if there's any malfunction or accidents (I work in electrical infrastructure where you go to jail if something you design hurts someone instead of a slap on the wrist and a fine worth 0.015 % of your net income) Not to mention software companies are glued to new business profits so user experience on the software takes the hit due to the amount of "acceptable" bugs that never get fixed.
@@Maxinomics Another problem with removing the human to save money: You cannot automate your way to prosperity forever. You think human employees are expensive today, wait until you see how expensive it is to fire everyone and automate the vast majority of jobs. If no one has any income, businesses will eventually lose their revenue, and no one will buy what the robots are selling.

The crazy thing, this dosent effect the financial argument for designing more car free cities or moving at least more close to that and prioritizing more integrated local production in permaculture type strategy.
If the railways refuse to cooperate the resulting damage to the economy would force the government to back down very quickly.

I have literally never seen an I-Pace in real life outside of the self driving Waymo ones. I wonder Waymo get a deal to buy them in bulk off of Jag because they sold so poorly
I think Waymo has made up more than 1/3 of all the cars sales

The reason I take uber is so i have a nice conversation with the driver, usually someone whose intelligent and is involved in other businesses.
