@@scottcatron3924 yup, you can use the v6 k member but it puts the engine a little too far back towards the firewall and cause issues with the intake manifold(unless you’re using a carb.)

I would love to see you do a s366 type turbo on the 4.6. I think it would be perfect I just haven't seen anyone throw one on.
@@isaacpsi that would be a good match, I wonder why now as well.
Does he have a parts list
@@saintdead3043 parts lost is in my auto to manual swap videos, mainly the cost video that starts it off.
Bro, I hate to tell you but the radiator support doesn't have anything to do with how high you jack your car up to drop the drivetrain.. It may be too late for this but you can delete the ps cooler altogether unless you're autocrossing or road racing a lot..
I’m pulling the drivetrain straight out the front, I have minimal lift space to lift the front clip as high as the intake manifold. The car can be nearly stock height on jackstands as the k member can be dropped on my dolly and the whole drivetrain rolled out very easily. It’s all preference, and what I have available space wise within a safe margin. The cooler relocation has been fine. Just added insurance. The motion raceworks piece also has the mounts already integrated into it for my treadstone intercooler, which was an added bonus and another factor in the setup.
I am building a remote mount turbo on my 4.6 2003 grand Marquis, only planning on 4-7 psi as i have stock internals at 160kmi are you saying you cant blow through the maf at all? What about relocating it to the rear of the vehicle?
@@TACOMASRT5 the maf will peg quickly, I was pegging the maf(maxing out its resolution reading) at only 2psi. If you plan to use the stock maf you need to use MAFia range extender(that’s what I used but it still wasn’t ideal because the tune had to be modified for it quite a bit) I ultimately went with the Pmas HPX-E maf and it’s super smooth now.
Just needs a 50/70 shot down low. I'm kidding, kinda. I would definitely go smaller though. Cool car btw
@@emoryzakin2576 yeah that could wake it up lol, yeah smaller will be happening. Thank you as well!
Actually in the process of buying a 2v to drift. Think ima sell mine and steer away from drag racing
It seems super fun!
That horsepower comment goes crazy
Good lord. No wonder you are wanting a turbo that spools sooner, you aren't even making boost until the very top of the 4.6 L RPM range. Sure, for highway pulls that might be fun, but like you said, its virtually unusable in any other scenario. I look forward to more videos about your car.
@@vulture8878 oh absolutely, it’s a fantastic turbo for an auto car. For a stick car a smaller turbine is best to get that boost back between shifts. This is also with a 3.27 gear as well!
Rx7?
Miata, but there was an awesome RX7 there..
Working on this now. Did those end brackets "wheel impact brakes" get totally removed(umbolted) or did you cut them off?
I completely removed them.
@@forcefedhatch thanks. Ill weigh mine thursday. I was at 3166 lbs before this with full tank of gas and spare tire still in the trunk. 2003 mach 1. I left those brackets in for now.
@@GojirasBreath oh awesome, yeah please update me on it.

@@forcefedhatch Exactly!!!
Sounds great, quick question. What rpms does it shift at with those cams?
@@kevinjohn6868 when the car was N/A I shifted around 6,800
@forcefedhatch oh wow what intake manifold were you using?
@kevinjohn6868 ford stock PI intake, had the dorman.. terrible design, if you can source a ford PI that’s where it’s at.. I had to add 8% fuel across the board when I swapped intake manifolds.. the car is now turbo with the same cams, they seem to be boost friendly as well. 7psi hitting 86-88mph in the 1/8 MPH wise with a super conservative tune and running 10.9-11.2 AFR’s
@forcefedhatch thanks for the info I have the C. M. S stage 2 NA cams, in MY 03 F150 5.4 2 valve, and I still have the original Pi. Manifold, that's been working great. I'm just waiting for my revision. Tune and I'm just on a Base startup tune and just wanted to know what rpm, should it be shifting at Of course, it's an auto. I did a CNC port on the heads upgraded valve Springs and pretty much. Everything is new on the top end
@@kevinjohn6868 oh no problem, but I will say 6,500 is a safe number for stock bottom end cars. These cans really come to life after about 3,500rpm and tach out quick!
How much boost ?
@@iciz7240 it’s on 7.5 psi currently.
@@forcefedhatch thing is sick ! Recently got a turbo 2V currently on 5psi going to up it soon what boost controller do you have ?
@@iciz7240 I just run on wastegate springs. When I want to change the boost I just buy the springs for the boost I want to run.

What will happen if I swap to a 5 speed trans without SCT tuning ?
You may run into issues with hanging idle, but mostly you will see the speedometer being off( the speed will be doubled on the gauge cluster) and the O/D light will be flashing constantly. If you can look past all of that then not much other than the car may have to try and adjust. Autos have torque limiters as well for shift points that the ECU will be hunting for.
IMO, dumps sound trashy. Tailpipes have a much cleaner, crisper sound.
@@armcchargues8623 right there with ya, although many pushrod cars(hotrods especially)sound amazing with dumps.
I bet that thing gets rowdy!
@@G2offroad it definitely gets hairy at times haha.

I know all the accessories i will need to make the auto trans work but what about the computer for the car like to tell the trans when to shift and stuff? Can i grab a computer that has an auto trans from the junkyard and plug it up?
@@yfn.shamar you can use an AUTO ecu to control your auto trans, you will just need to have the passive anti theft system(PATS) tuned out(deactivated) or it won’t start.
@@forcefedhatch and that ecu your referring to is in the passenger side kick panel right ? And i will have to get some help on the pats . Im doing a budget swap as well and trying to see what’s all necessary .i wish it was a clear video on a manual to auto. Going with my auto trans because it’s untouched and still bolted up to the good motor and need it driving for right now.
@@yfn.shamar yes that’s the correct ECU, if you have a donor car then you can get all of the alarm parts from it, the gauge cluster, the keys, and the key readers in the steering column I believe is what you will need
@@forcefedhatch so i have my cluster from my 2000 with the motor and trans and i have keys for the 03 but its just a roller right now. I just need the ecu from the 3rd donor car . What other alarm parts are you referring to.
@yfn.shamar the keys are coded to either the gauge cluster or to the steering column. I can’t think of which in off the top of my head. I know the gauge cluster has a chip in it that you can swap to another cluster to keep I believe the PATS and the mileage correct. But don’t quote me on that. You will truly be better off having the anti theft disabled if you don’t have the original auto ECU.
Lmr did a dyno comparison between the 3 intakes. The dorman and the "new" ford performance intake are identical. Nothing beats the original ford 2v intake. Good video, great looking gt.
I saw that, I’m so glad I picked this up years ago with the anticipation of swapping it out in the future.
Great box bro! Keep it up!!!
Oh for sure! Thank ya!!!
@@forcefedhatchthe dorman doesn't flow as well as the stock pi intake. I fell for the price too. Kept getting weird air flow issues after I replaced mine on my Vic. Throttle response fell off and performance was lacking. Got a fomoco pi intake and everything went back to normal. I was able to watch my fuel trims bounce all over the place with the dorman. I don't think they are designed off the power improvement ( post 02-04 ? ) engines.
@@robsorgdrager8477 I agree, I had quite a bit of inconsistency all this time. Then I swapped to the FoMoCo and the car is a new beast all together!
