I rate this episode a 4/5 stars The Sanity x ABCT: Mary Jane's Eras Tour: 45 Years of Service podcast episode is a remarkable reflection on the legacy of Mary Jane Eimer, who served as the Executive Director of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) for 45 years. Hosted by Dr. Jason Duncan, this episode invites listeners to journey through the pivotal moments and growth of the ABCT, from its early days to becoming a prominent global hub for evidence-based psychological treatments. In the episode, Mary Jane Eimer and Dr. David Barlow share their personal reflections and memories, providing a rich oral history of the organization. They highlight milestones that have shaped the ABCT's influence on the field of psychology. Particularly, it emphasizes the pioneering efforts of the ABCT in promoting cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) and its broader impact on mental health treatments worldwide. The conversation is not only a tribute to Mary Jane’s incredible service but also a deep dive into how the association has grown and evolved under her leadership. The episode is both nostalgic and informative, offering listeners a rare inside look at the organization’s journey and its vision for the future of mental health therapy

CBT quite often has the effect of gaslighting and invalidating an autistic person's experience and further reinforces this idea that the issues they face on a daily basis are mostly to do with the way they are looking at things, rather than incorporating the fact that a lot of our problems have to do with how we are viewed and treated - as we still live in a largely ableist society.

You said rapid reintegration I think. I was wondering though how rapid? My kid is struggling and I am trying to figure out the right approach without exacerbating her anxiety and low self esteem. She has a therapist, although, I am not entirely sure what they have been working on. I have her scheduled with a psychiatrist for this Monday and I am meeting with someone at the school on Wednesday about a possible 504 plan. She does well in school when she is there. She is super smart and would like to travel the world one day but she is struggling at the moment.

I'm surprised this guy still gets away with peddling behavior modification therapy and directing clients to neuroleptic drugs sold by his friends in Big Pharma. We're well past the era of getting kids to pop stimulants and psychotropics to deal with ADD/ADHD. Those two conditions are not due to abnormal dopamine, serotonin, GABA. etc. They are caused by low acetylcholine (ACh) especially in the hippocampi and ANS, which leaves the person unable to "attend" during the day and sleep deeply and dream at night. (Ever notice that ADHD sufferers are lousy sleepers?) Unfortunately for Big Pharma and its shills, you can't eat ACh and you can't get a script from your doctor. You can, however, easily consume the compounds that are needed for ACh to be made in your hippocampi and parasympathetic neurons. There's no money in that for shrinks and Eli Lilly.

Do you come back to this video every few months to make another comment? Seems like strange, obsessive behaviour. Maybe you need to take some medication for OCD? Did Russell hurt you? Why focus so much on this? If you want to change the culture, why not list these 'compounds' that help make ACh? Why so secretive? Maybe because you are in fact a seller of these 'Nootropic compounds', Alan? Attack the competition when you can't prove your own products viability? You are suss.

Thanks to everyone taking their time to read this testimony on how my son was saved from Autism. He was diagnosed four years ago, and he's just 6, I have tried several treatments and medications, nothing was working out, this got me frustrated and depressed. I kept praying and finally God answered my prayers when someone from youtube introduced me to this doctor from his home country and gave me his contact details. I called and explained my son's condition after which I made an order for his herbal remedy, he asked for my address and the next day I got a tracking number for a parcel sent to me through DHL and after four days I received my order. It was a liquid herbal medicine and a letter containing the instructions on how to use the herbs, I called him again to confirm and the next morning I started giving my son the herbs as instructed and after one week I noticed great improvement on my son and I continued until the herbs got finished and everything lasted for just one month and now my son is totally free from Autism, he can now talk clearly, behave normally and has no more seizures. If you've been searching for a genuine solution for Autism, connect with this honest Doctor on Whats App + 2 3 4 8 0 7 7 6 8 3 1 0 9 or ( solutionhealinghome@gmail. com )

I never had an age of onset. I've always been a natural introvert and suffered from selective mutism from kindergarten onwards. Combined with childhood emotional neglect, I didn't have a chance. I am well into middle age now and handle things better including my emotions, but a part of me feels bad that I never really had a childhood. No extracurricular activities, was put in "special" school. Maybe I shouldn't think about it.

Here are some quotes Barkley made in 2016 Adults with ADHD are 2-3 times more likely to be dead by age 46 from accidental injuries, many of which involve driving. About one third of adults with ADHD exhibit antisocial behavior and may even get involved with crime" and " Most adults with ADHD, 80-90%, need medication as part of the treatment package". Then he claims "my twin brother died. He had ADHD, and I know that it indirectly contributed to his death. He was driving 40 miles per hour on a country road in the Adirondacks. He never wore a seatbelt, and he had a habit of going too fast and drinking while driving. He ran off the road and was killed. I put the book aside while I was grieving him. Not long after my sister, who had physical disabilities, also died. And about three years after that, my deceased brother’s son, who also had ADHD, hanged himself". Then he says "ADHD is genetic in about two thirds of all cases; in about one third it is acquired either prenatally or after birth because of head trauma or environmental conditions that affect the brain’s frontal lobe development." His brother's ADHD must have been caused prenatally or after birth then. He claims you are likely to be dead by age 46 from accidents. His father Donald Stuart Barkley died in 1999 aged 83. His mother died aged 93 in 2008. So it didn't come from them. Unless of course Barkley's talking complete and utter bullshit and is dancing to his pharma paymaster's tune once again. Guess what the smart money is on. blog.apabooks.org/2016/10/31/a-conversation-with-russell-a-barkley-phd-about-adult-adhd/

While it’s true that the concordance rate for ADHD in monozygotic (identical) twins is 70-80%, his brother, Ronald, was his dizygotic (fraternal) twin. Studies show an elevated risk of ADHD among relatives of those diagnosed with the disorder, but risk is not the same as a guarantee. It’s fully plausible that Russell Barkley doesn’t have the disorder even if his siblings did. Chapter 14 of his book, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, 4th edition, goes into detail about the genetic and nongenetic factors that play a role in the origins of ADHD. He cites all of his sources if you’d like to investigate further

Veterans if you have had electroshock/ECT there is a product liability suit taking place that is now national. If you may be interested in possibly participating in this please contact the DK law group in CA. The CA courts have proved brain injuries resulting from this procedure. Devices and procedure have never had FDA testing and we are speaking of 450 volts to the brain and greater. Patients are demonstrating damages on MRI, SPECT, VNG, EEG, and neuro/cognitive testing. Providers in research state that actual structural brain changes result from this procedure. We as patients are told of simple temporary memory loss for most part in consent. Bilateral ECT impacts the brain stem where vital functions reside as well, and patients demonstrating small bleeds to this area. Medical malpractice firms interviewing as well as consent fallible with material risk of brain injuries missing for starters. Electrical trauma can evolve years out to include CTE like that of the NFL players, ongoing cardiac issues, ALS etc. We have been lied to and harmed. Please see ectjustice.com now owned by law firms. Major media complicit in not addressing truth of this to warn public. Providers committing battery, and since much research and products current and to be developed impacted if the truth of this comes to light all quiet for most part to address. Many are in positions that should speak to protect patients, but are in collusion actively or passively. After reviewing the above website and others, along with videos available, please go on social if inclined and speak out on this greatly increased practice which is used for many conditions now. This is fraud at best and oaths taken have been forgotten. 5 billion annually in US alone from this harm and cover ups. My gratitude. th-cam.com/video/_6jxhMEbFIA/w-d-xo.html

@@alanberkeley7282 There is a *colossal* difference between recreational doses of street speed and cocaine and therapeutic doses of pharmaceutical grade stimulants. Allow me; Street drugs are cut with adulterants to maximise profit, which can (albeit rarely) include dangerous substances this is a large portion of the associated danger of street drugs, you just don't know what you're taking (unless you have a test kit). Given that the purity is uncertain and the goal being recreation, high doses are taken in the recreational setting. Some numbers for comparison; a speed user may go through 1gram (1000mg) in one night, the typical therapeutic daily equivalent is around 15-30mg. In conjunction with this tolerance builds with daily use which lessens the strain the drug has on the body, yet the therapeutic benefits can sometimes remain. To hysterically cry addiction in response to the use of therapeutic stimulant drugs is a bit like having a single bite of a chocolate bar everyday and having someone tell you CHOCOLATE BARS CONTAIN SUGAR YOU'LL GET DIABETES AND BECOME OBESE. Except it's worse because for some these medications are a necessary means to achieving a satisfactory life.
