Jimmy Smith Talks Going All In, Progression, & MORE.
In this episode, we explore the incredible journey of Jimmy Smith, who is an extremely versatile & passionate cyclist. From growing up on the big island of Hawaii & relocating to the mainland as a teenager in Springfield, MO & spending summers in Colorado, where he had the tough choice of choosing to pursue BMX or baseball. After making the choice to go all in on BMX, Jimmy realized that he could build a career for himself on the bicycle & began to fully apply himself through competing where he quickly made a name for himself in the BMX industry after a handful of promising results as contests around the country. Jimmy's transition to mountain biking led him to win the IMBA National Enduro Series in 2017 & has allowed him to ride for top bike brands like Fuji, Specialized, & now Yeti Cycles. Not just a cyclist; Jimmy has full-on embraced content creation, which helped him gain more versatile support & sponsorships. He has helped produce unique content for some of the largest brands in cycling, while also starring in the content. As he's grown in his cycling career, his interest in other cycling disciplines has also grown to include gravel & cross country riding which showcases his newfound love for long endurance challenges.
We had a blast sitting down with Jimmy as he shared his inspiring story, lessons learned, & advice for aspiring athletes. He's always had such a rad 'if you want it, go get it' attitude & it's really cool to learn more about what makes him tick & what drives him to achieve his goals.
Tap into this episode & Jimmy's infectious positive attitude for a dope story & some solid motivation to help you get out there & follow your dreams.

I love Troy.. the reason I went brakeless, back in 2000. Ive messaged him a few times on Insta, always sends a quick response . I was luck enough to be touring in the US around 97/98. Driving through downtown Denver I saw a group of riders sessioning a wall ride by a huge church. He was definitely one of them or I like to think it was. .... Is this spot still there ? Big up Troy !!!

Long time Anton fan, used to read his blog going way back. I stepped in a gopher hole that was covered in leaves about six years ago and rolled my ankle, got an Osteo Chondral Defect of the Talus which ended running for me. My interests evolved into mountain biking and I stopped following Anton's career. For a couple years leading up to that, he started having the shin problem, and I was gutted for him. He had to get on the bike, couldn't get long training blocks in on his feet, and couldn't do the races he was dreaming of. That was where I left off on his journey. He popped into my head yesterday so I looked up some interviews. This one was really good. He and I are the same age, share a love of the written word, and both thrive going long. It was a delight to catch up on his life. I'm so happy he's figured out a balance that allows him to run consistently again. Pumped to see the relationship he's built with Hailey as well, I know what a joy it can be to have a girlfriend who's into moving her body long distances through the outdoors just as much as you are. Thank you for the interview!
