May also try and cut up a body board keeping it as small as possibe. And make a keel for this, so may help further, this may also stop any zig-zag movement.

I'm about to buy a GoPro, I'm thinking that attaching the camera to a lifeguard can and towing it, should stop the rocking. I don't think this method would be much use in competition.

Without putting it on your head I doubt you'll be able to get it to stop. I tried with mine awhile back.

Do you think changing the straps out would make a difference? Maybe changing them to rubber?
