    Why would they create a cart that costs more than the other carts that are out there?

    • @storykingstudios
      @storykingstudios 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The features are aimed to compete with the top tier Innovative carts, not the base level Pro Aim carts. The drop-in integrated corner post risers for example is a feature you can't find for less than 4k-5k from anyone else (as far as I know). We could have got an $1100 proaim cart for just hauling stuff around, but we liked the additional features on this cart that the pro aim line of carts didn't have. Depends what you want to use the cart for. We are producing from the cart, using it to carry stuff and replace stands on set so we can be mobile and nimble. Rolling around with lights, diffusion, camera, and boom pole ready to go is awesome for us.

    Very interesting, thanks for showing this cart! Are the casters pneumatic or foam-filled? Personally I wouldn't go for anything different from foam filled wheels, because they are maintenance-free. Too many pneumatic wheels around that need to be constantly refilled with air. Also, the top part seemed to be twisting a bit when you handled it... do you find it sturdy when rolling it around under load with a ton of things?

    • @storykingstudios
      @storykingstudios 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. The wheels are air, but they are standard 10in wheels so you could switch them out if you want. I find air wheels ride smoother over bumps so I'll take the extra maintenance. There is some give, but it's sturdy under load. If it was 100% stiff it would be more likely to break so the give is actually a good thing.

    Great stuff man. Just found your channel and subbed. I'm wanting to by these lenses but waiting to push the button. Would love to know how you feel after shooting with them because I have a film to shoot in a few months and these are what I wanted to use. Love the look so far

      Thanks! I actually just started a new channel for the BTS and gear stuff to separate that from our client work, so if you want more of this content head over to my @joshmooredp channel. As far as the Blazar lenses, I really like them. I've been too busy with client work to do anything dramatic so I'm just spicing up corporate videos with them at the moment. But they are really fun to shoot and immediately change the feel of the video.

    As i understand, PL mount is the standard for Cinema lenses because it's more secure ? I know there are great PL to Sony E adapters with drop in filters like the "Poco" one, but i dont want to pay $200-500 more for a stack of adapters for my sony camera. I could spend the money on other lenses with native mounts like Sirui. I would like them to sell the Lenses pre-equiped with sony mount.

    • @joshmooredp
      @joshmooredp หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, PL mount is more secure than any of the DSLR photo style mounts. It was a standard ARRI introduced in the 80s and it's what everyone uses for big heavy cinema lenses. Lightweight lenses like the Remus don't require a PL mount, but it's the standard for cinema lenses. Because of the flange distance, PL can also be adapted to basically anything so it's a great choice for lens manufacturers for many reasons. I've since picked up some Letrater PL to E adapters off Amazon and converted my Remus lenses back to PL. It's more solid for sure. Also PL doesn't wiggle or rock when you put a follow focus on the lens.

    Good review, mate. I'm thinking of the EF mount for weather sealing by using a tape around the mount. Will go with the PL for solid locking and see if I can seal it. Meike EF-E and PL-E are great to have VND/ND and other filters in the back.

    • @storykingstudios
      @storykingstudios 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! I haven’t used the Meike one, but we saw the Mofage at NAB and it looked nice - but more expensive 😂 the tape would only be for a temporary seal for a shoot right? I doubt that would last over time. We don’t shoot in rain so the normal mounts are good enough.

    • @Bo_Hazem
      @Bo_Hazem 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@storykingstudios Yeah yhe Mofage looks sexy but doesn't work well with cages as the wheel sticks out more than it should, and you need to take it off to change a filter. I never use my cameras without cages. As for the tape yes, it's just for when it's raining or dusty. Good thing about the Meike vs Moofage as well is that it has weather sealing gasket at the E-mount end, which the Moofage doesn't have, and you have a lot of cheap but good filters to use. You can use filters that are designed for Canon's EF-RF genuine adapter. Most Cine lenses as well aren't weather sealed except IRIX lenses. The good thing is about these Blazar Remus is they have a protective glass upfront because the main elements in the fron end do move. Seen a torture test by Cammakey with so much dirts and even he splashed some water according yo one of his thumbnails and they're fine. Weather sealing is crucial to me because I'm mainly a nature filmmaker/documentarian and we have a monsoon season that lasts for like 3 months with nearly daily drizzles/light rain and never had an issue with my gear so far. Cameras that are exposed to the elements like FX6, RED, etc won't ever be considered to be bought by me because they don't bring much to the table, but something like Freefly Ember is worth it with a rain cover to grab insane slomo of insects, birds, animals, etc with a rain cover. I'm a beginner filmmaker but doesn't mean that I should invest on things that don't serve me well.🤣 One of my biggest mistakes was buying the Laowa 24mm probe lens for E-mount instead of EF/PL, now I'm stuck with no way to have ND's/VND's/CPL and always worried about water leaking to the body because it's too hard to stick a tape at the mount + less value when selling it like now trying to buy the new expensive one the Periprobe version.🥺

    • @storykingstudios
      @storykingstudios หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh man, yeah we don’t film in monsoons 😂 nature documentaries are a totally different game… not sure what camera you’re using, but something like the FX3 is weather sealed and has a great image. I’ve shot my FX3 in the rain no issues. The FX6 is definitely not weather sealed 😅 There’s a handful of PL to E adapters with weather sealing.

    • @Bo_Hazem
      @Bo_Hazem หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@storykingstudios Yeah I have its older brother, a7SIII. FX3 would been bought just for the cooling fans but so far never even seen a temperature warning when shooting under the sun a total of like 45min of 4K@120fps 10bit 422 (clips not one go, real time not S&Q) for sport. 4K@120fps with audio is the biggest selling point of a7SIII, FX3, a1, a9III including a6700 and FX30. Gonna get a7Rv later this month and probably FX30 after. waiting for A1 II and a7Siv/FX3 II as well and might grab the a9III as my new main camera. Have a small production company so a7SIII and FX30(s) will be great for streaming weddings and events in 4K if the internet at the spot helps. You know, nature is very expensive and can be a money drain so need to bring money from somewhere.🤣 As for the Remus would be perfect for potentially filming my first drama/action film, and probably the only one, due to a request by a director & writer, including filming underwater😅. Love filmmaking in general so tapping on whatever is offered to me but setting realistic expectations of me as a beginner filmmaker.

      @@Bo_Hazem Very cool. Those are all great cameras. What camera you use doesn't matter much anymore, they are mostly all capable of great images, it's all about learning the craft. I used to scuba dive and do underwater video. I've had an expensive underwater housing sitting on my shelf for 10 years. I use it every few years to justify it's existence... My advice is to rent things you won't use more than 10 times a year, especially if you're still starting your career. Otherwise you'll sink way too much money in gear that will get outdated and lose value. Save your cash, rent the nicer cameras, lenses, gizmos, etc. I've bough too many things in the last 20 years of doing this that sit on my shelf and end up losing all their value and getting thrown away because nobody wants them. Gear rant over 🤣

      @storykingstudios 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shalat! Absolutely! You definitely should shoot in 4K if you plan on using this method. Proper vertical video is 1920 pixels tall so the 2160 pixel height of 4K UHD video will cover that, shooting in 1080HD will mean you have to scale up almost 200% for vertical...not ideal :-) Thanks for the comment!

      Haha! Thanks for the comment Alex! I used to do the same thing, but kept thinking there had to be a better way. Marking this dual vertical guide on my screens makes it so much easier to film for both horizontal and vertical without having to use extra brain juice thinking about the vertical crop.
