I’m Native American, but recently I found out I had a great great grandfather that was a German during the world war days 😂 for some reason the German language seems familiar even though I don’t speak it. That being said the SS looked like beasts. Must have been scary fighting against one of their battalions.

I think the battle with the Waffen SS was meant to replicate Audie Murphys battle against German infantry in World War II when he mounted a burning tank and opened fire with the 50 caliber machine gun. The only way a Waffen SS unit would be marching on a road was because the weather was so bad fighter-bombers weren't roaming above, machine gunning and bombing everything that moved on the road. They would have had a reconnaissance unit moving ahead of the main force and wouldn't have halted in front of a "knocked out" American tank. In Russia, German tankers found themselves getting hit when they passed by a Soviet tank they thought was knocked out but wasn't. Only if a tank was destroyed or otherwise so badly damaged it wasn't a threat they might have approached. By then there were still plenty of veterans left and had it been a real Waffen SS unit in similar circumstances it wouldn't acted the way the actors did. And yes, I know it's just a movie, but you have to use a little common sense.
