Hello dr can a foreigner do housemanship from Malaysia.
Hello, yes you can, but you need to first check whether your medical degree is recognised by malaysian medical council ( MMC) or not. if yes then you can apply for provisional registration under MMC. if not you need to apply for examination for provisional registration. kindly refer to this website for more information: mmc.gov.my/registration/ Hope this helps.
Dr is it true that if we do houseman nearer to our home,later on we will be posted somewhere far for Mo.May I know how true is this?
Greetings, Most of the time you will be posted to the places which in need of MO. Majority of the time it will be far. But that being said some of my friends do get near to their home.

Greetings, Housemanship in malaysia is for 2 years. 6 postings 4 months each. It’s stressful, but with proper guidance and support she will be fine and will become a great doctor.
Very helpful indeed. Yr are a good dr im sure. As a specialist now and started my HOship in 2009 i didnt have g8 support. More envious characters as i was a gold medalist in ireland and pretty much knowledgeable, good practical skills n humble...down to cutting patients finger nails.... but i was made to tag in ortho my 1st posting for like 40 days 6am to 12pm.lost about 5kgs. Miserable n almost gave up. I whistle blew to the medical society when i was blamed for wrong medication given by an MO and caused the pt to have resp depression.... these things happen alot. Its a dangerous field. 12 years n a spr in SG... i would say, im glad i left. All e best

Thanks for the video Dr! May I know what does it mean by double Mrcs, do we take from 2 different centres?
You’re welcome, it’s two different syllabus, first MRCS was for general surgery, the second is meant for ENT. I took it from two different prestigious royal colleges namely Edinburgh and Ireland.
