Thoughts on Danganronpa Another Despair Academy (Spoiler Review)
Victor never saw Glen. Of course he doesn't know the difference, he has no point of reference.

I like your picks for survivors and victims. Hiyoko would be a great addition with your approach. And Gundham having to kill Sonia would be heartbreaking. I'd only change one thing, though. Gundham doesn't kill Sonia on impulse. He knows he has to but doesn't want to. Sonia gives him a proposition. She tells him either she gets away and tells everyone he killed Nekomaru or he kills her before she can get there.
Great video
Maybe she is lucky after all if he's always her prosecutor

I think the hardest part is the evidences of the case, maybe, the player will think "what about the __?". The writer have to study EVERY DETAIL in the case so it will be perfect
Love how you gave kirumi something, queen deserved more time screen
And unlike his brother he didn't flee to a country where defense attorneys lose almost any case and get punished for that
I actually have a idea for v3 that could improve its 3rd case :2 people get murdered, 2 blackend, 1 executed
Sonia dying is what I always wanted in the game! I don’t hate her, but she’s not my fav either, and her being around is what keeps Kazuichi’s character from growing as well. If she were gone, he’d have to find a reason to live than one of the other survivors. Hell, Sonia dying in Chapter 3 by Mikan could’ve been interesting. Maybe Mikan targets Ibuki & Sonia out of jealousy, because they’re two of the more likable girls in their class. She catches the Despair Disease, and decides to snuff out two lights that’re currently keeping up morale in the group, basically giving the Chapter 4 characters the middle finger before her execution. Maybe she contemplated killing Hiyoko, but says something like, “Killing someone like you who already sows despair wherever they go…that would be an insult to my beloved.” Have Mikan say she decided against it, because she doesn’t believe Hiyoko can change and become a more likable person to the group, that it would’ve been a waste of a kill. Plus, as this video kinda explains, Hiyoko living means all the survivors had an experience with death. Hajime lost Nagito & Chiaki, Kazuichi loses Sonia & Gundham (and maybe takes over caring for Gundham’s hamsters?), Akane lost Nekomaru, Fuyuhiko lost Peko, and Hiyoko loses Mahiru & Mikan. Hiyoko living and losing her punching bag, and having to keep living, forces her to really think about her own insecurities, and why she always targeted Mikan.
So looking at the purest form of this case... Character we've met before gets falsly framed for poisoning a customer of the cafe and gets found guilty due to the murderer pretending to be phoenix. There's 3 elements that are key here. The poisoning at the cafe, the inclusion of a previously-met character, and Phoenix getting imitated. Between these 3 elements... Franziska is the first om to fall away. Nothing here aligns at all with her storyline, nor does her personality fit anything. The best argument I can give is "Franny's whip tames The Tiger" So it's between Miles and Godot for me. Miles fits very well, as I feel like he could bounce EXTREMELY well off of the fake-phoenix part of the story. The previously-met character could also help here, to have Miles immediately throw doubt on the case as they had been falsly accused before and Miles, doing his research, would use this to form the true case. It's only the poisoning at the cafe that doesn't do too much for Miles, except maybe have his socially awkward self not know how to deal with pretty waitresses and Armstrong's extravagance. Godot, meanwhile, obviously fits the poisoning perfectly. I feel like the fake-phoenix part also fits veeery well here. As seen in the actual trial, Godot is doubtful of Phoenix' actual capabilities. He doesn't believe Phoenix to be a real lawyer. So the duality between that personal vandetta and a fake-phoenix running amock bounces very well. Just like Miles tho, Godot also has a flawed point. The defendant being a second time (false) suspect. For Godot, this point barely matters and if anything he would twist it into an argument in favour of the defendant being guilty. All in all, I would say the best fitting prosecutor would be Miles, as the murder method, while essential, could easily be changed with some small rewriting. But Godot is still a very close second.
its always the default prosecuter & the default attorney having the craziest & longest beef
You explained it perfectly!
Whats the bad contradiction in kidnapped turnabout
It's been a while but I quickly looked back at the case and I believe the contradiction is in a line where Lang says, "And the two of them made good use of their meetings to plan this kidnapping." For context the two kidnappers in question refer to Oliver Deacon and Lauren Paups. The contradiction here is that 3 costumes were stolen so there are 3 kidnappers and not 2. But imo this contradiciton is bs. 1) Just because there could be 3 kidnappers does not mean Lang's statement is incorrect. The two characters in question could've still planned the kidnapping. Lang's statement never said there were ONLY two kidnappers. 2) As I said in the video, Edgeworth always gives you some type of hint after you cycle through a cross examination. In this particular cross examination, Edgeworth questions if Oliver and Lauren truly could've committed the crime knowing they were family. Because of the hint, it seems like you are supposed to present something to show that Oliver and Lauren did not know they were family. I think Edgeworth's hints always helped except in this one instance
HOLD IT! Case 6-4 has the Clussy. I rest my case your honour.
At one point i though Shuichi would become the Mastermind with the *memory* flasklight LOL, i was so scared. That would have destroyed my mental state.
Case 3 of Dual Destinies is top tier for one key reason. Blackquill having none of that Ace Attorney court nonsense and letting Athena handle things while he fucks off and goes for a walk.
Mia was living on through nick, she is able to watcy over them, which is very musch evident in the tail end of 3-5
I think both of the investigations games are very easy not just 2. You just have so much health to play with and it regenerates often so you can afford to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.
That is fair, I think I'm just bad at Turnabout Ablaze and there's that one annoying contradiction in the Kidnapped Turnabout
Spirit of justice doesn't have weaker cases because the entire game is the weakest already.
I can forgive the defending of the weed man but calling makoto cool is a cardinal sin.
Fun Fact: Auta is actually a mastermind! When Tsumugi said that "I wonder if Auta have a dark hair like night and a red eye". Yes,Auta is Hajime despair version
I want him to marry Lotta Hart and hyphenate last name. Hart-Payne is a dangerous symptom and should not be ignored.
It was only added so Danganronpa make more sales and because Kodaka is too incompetent to write alternative paths, like he intended with Distrust and Danganronpa 1.
AA2-3 is so bad that people only hates it for superficial reason, which prove it's actually a good case and people are grasping at straws to downplay AA2.
I wouldn't take AA6 seriousely considering how it retcon everything we know about Fey and who wrote this mess.
Because you realized Mikan isn't as sympathetic like people claim her to be. Mikan and Natsumi fans are quite hypocrites.
I don't consider post-trilogy games as canon and treat them as fanfictions, but it's actually Yamazaki's best game. AA5 is too cartoonish to be taken seriousely, AA6 is to Maya, what AA4 was to Phoenix and AAI2 has the worst pacing of the franchise and an overhyped main villain like Kristoph. I only enjoyed the two first case, outside of the insignificant Prosecutor pretending to be better than Edgeworth because of Manfred. I didn't like how Franziska and Gumshoe were turned into retards who forgot their character arcs. The game went downhill as soon they introduced Lang and the yatagarasu plot I didn't care about and the retcons on Miles's in the flashback case made it worst for me and was inconsistent with the character he was in 3-4 and 1-2.
I disagree Ace Attorney 4 reuses the same formula from Ace Attorney 3, with the main villain getting taken down in the first case and the last trial featuring a flashback trial related to the said villain that get taken down a second time. It shamelessly reuses trope from the previous game, while pretending to be something new. AA4-3 was the only original case outside of the culprit being a watered down Matt and we all know how it ended up. Ace Attorney 4 is your average bad sequel from 7th gen era. It ends up being overhyped by idiots who keep glossing over the reason why it's a bad game. It's no different than Pokemon after the GBA and Metal Gear Solid 4. People who keep parroting about how natural Phoenix's characterization is on AA4 by turning him into a of a plot device than an actual character obviously don't understand Phoenix's character and have no basis of what an actual character is.
maybe im just stupid but the layton puzzles made me feel braindead. i literally couldn’t do the first one, and one time i legit fell asleep doing one. the cases were pretty easy tho. maybe it’s just a skill issue and the collab being my first layton game
It could be hard for a newcomer. I feel like most people need some experience with the Layton games to get better at the puzzles. This is why a lot of Layton fans feel like the first Layton game is the hardest since they started with that one Also if you slept through a puzzle, then you might just find that type of gameplay boring. If you find it boring, then it might just be hard to do because of that
Ace Prosecutor: Winston Payne spinoff when?
Dang, Phoenix has a real knack for ending perfect win records
I love all the third cases of every Danganronpa game, but SDR2 was indeed rushed.. im still disappointed in mikans execution because it kinda doesn't makes sense to me and i dont like how she reacts to monokuma stabbing the rocket arm..
So I Think it's a theory that turnabout revalosion was originally 2 episodes but then they realised they didn't have a case for Athena so they stuck both together and made turnabout storyteller.
When people start seeing the "3rd Case Syndrome" as a rule, it becomes the 3rd Case Bias.
If there's anything Winston can hold its that he's probably the CLEANEST prosecutor we've seen in the OG trilogy. Edgeworth, at least in trial 2, tries to buy time and manufactures witness testimonies (sure he's better now but he DID do that stuff). Manfred is Manfred, he does a lot of illegal stuff. Franziska isnt bad perse, but she has a WHIP. Godot (MAJOR T&T SPOILER BLOCK). While yes Winston does like to talk down to the defense, that's really it. He isn't one to forge evidence or withhold information. Even if he only went after rookies, respect for at least keeping it clean, at least compared to his brother Gaspen who ALSO makes it easy for himself but resorts to methods way worse than his brother, like when Gaspen tried to essentially get Phoenix KILLED alongside his defendant cause he went to Khurain because it was so easy to win there due to the DCA.
Imo apollo justice and dual destinies have a lot of issues, but also have a lot of value and bring a lot of depth to the series. As much as they deserve their criticisms, they were incredibly ballsy and ambitious and pushed the series forward in their own ways. Im currently on the last case of spirit of justice, and it's shaping up to be maybe my favorite AA game. Just all around incredibly tight writing, characters, and worldbuilding (the latter being something AA games haven't focused on as much before).
HOW THE FUCK DOES NO ONE HATE GAA2 THIRD TRIAL IT WAS SO BULLSHIT
not sure which part you are referring to but probably cause people like the characters a lot
@@DerpyHiro the great departed soul. So bs, so many times I was like "ah this proves this claim wrong" and it was either A, something that made no sense to present or B, proved the same thing I was trying to prove.
I did not notice and it's a nice easter egg !
#4 SPOILERS FOR DRA
aoi in thh is more like somewhat useful and carry clas trial 1 and she and kirigiri more useful
I think Turnabout Samurai being unconnected to Phoenix's story is good actually It being unconnected gets you to see how Phoenix acts his personal life isn't at stake. And in terms of story it is a good case to show Edgeworth that a case shouldn't be about his victory. Yes you could have changed its content, but in my opinion "filler" is a good place to develop the characters without rushing them from plot relevant incident to plot relevant incident
6:45 By my understanding, Maki did try to kill Kokichi, so that Kaito wouldn’t become the blackened as a result of having shot him with a poisoned arrow. Essentially, as she saw it, Kokichi was doomed either way thanks to the poison, and if she allowed the poison to be what killed him that would make Kaito the blackened, whereas if she killed Kokichi directly before the poison did, she would be the blackened and Kaito would be safe.
I don't really get all the hype over Investigation 2's third case. Its only cool in theory, playing as Gregory Edgeworth and the time-switching, but actually playing the case feels very different. The ratio of gameplay to exposition is very low. Correct me if I'm misremembering but you're restricted to investigating only four small rooms, none of which really have anything interesting going on. Then you don't get any in-depth rebuttals until the very end of the case. It does tie into the later parts of the game, but to me it felt very shoehorned to tie it into the DL-6 incident, and I also feel like the setting of the whole case makes the DL-6 incident feel much less serious by association. The new characters arent especially strong either.
Not gonna lie, I love Kidnapped Turnabout and Lance is one of my favorite characters in the whole series. He's not evil, he's heavily misunderstood. He's a guy who never learned how to manage money, sadly presumably has no mother, and almost died to a man he had no involvement in his false conviction given he was only 11 at the time it happened. He had to fight to protect his own life and took that bastard down like a true badass! And then in his breakdown, he gets epic for a moment and shatters the handcuff chain, only to immediately cry after. I look at that and how he tried to bide his emotions most of the case and see those tears as genuine, because he truly didn't want to do it but realistically did have to to save his own life. And furthermore, there's some unjust hate on his character for being an alleged cheater, but though he has a letter of interest from Viola, there's NO proof he reciprocates any feelings! I rest my case. I love Lance because he's the first character I genuinely hated arresting because I cannot for the life of me side against him. It opened my eyes to how there might be actual people who go to jail for self-defense and seeing a villain I actually sided with made my love for the series much stronger.
The change with Tsurugi in chapter 4 was because he saw Yuki (the last person left who he trusted) prepare to commit murder, I think that combined with the fact that he was literally starving and faced with a unbeatable motif convinced him the only way to prevent people becoming criminals was for them to die.
Oh, Also he walked in on Teruya trying to convince people to murder.
I love how super danganronpa another 2 improves upon some of the flaws in the first game. (Not that I think the first game is bad).
I think mukuro should be here over toko
Do we even know how Hiyoko was killed? No weapon not anything, just "she died instantly"
