The Greatest Addition To My Setup - Alienware OLED AW3423DWF Review
มุมมอง 3.1K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first ever review! Please let me know if you have any feedback. And thanks for watching of course :) Everything I say can be applied to the AW3423DW since the only difference is G-SYNC vs Freesync. 10bit Reddit guide: www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/10w07qb/aw3423dwf_i_successfully_managed_10bit_at_165hz/
I Talk About My GPUs
มุมมอง 2606 หลายเดือนก่อน
Just a simple video of me talking about the collection of GPUs I've accrued while building computers. Thanks for watching :)
For cleaning the screen use distilled water and a screen grade microfiber cloth. Cleans it perfectly!
can you please provide parts list
Of course! Of the PC or just the MORA gear?
@@Bit-Vik the mora gear and waiting for the next video ota been 2 weeks.
@@KsvTech Parts list: ibb.co/7SyhFRL, wall mount is optional, and remember to include 2x d5 pumps. I appreciate the support, the next part should be out in the next week :)
Nice, go next part
I'm doing my best, my friend!
picking it up tomorrow!! super excited!
Awesome! You're gonna love it
Gread audio quality ! Only complain is that the video is kinda noisy. Can't wait for the test/benchmarks. Keep up the work my guy.
Thanks for the feedback :) I'm definitely interested in a camera upgrade, for now I'm using my Brio 4k to record lol. In case you're wondering, I am using my Shure mv7 to record audio. I love the way it sounds but would like a more portable solution
remember, the fan cables are short and you have to attach them in the correct direction. don't go forgetting it now
I forgor 💀
Mine has HDR 1000.
I love my Aw3423DWF. I removed the anti glare film. It is now amazing so worth it. Glossy and no scratches, text is cleaner also. New firmware update also recently. The scratches drove me crazy that's why i removed the film. No more scratches and its glass and glossy.
Glad you're liking it. How did you remove the gloss film?

When I hit 1000 subs 😆
If you don't use HDR and set it to 8 bit color, the highest refresh rate is 165Hz, right? What other rates are available in 8 bit color mode? 144Hz, 120Hz, 100Hz, 85Hz, 60Hz...? I specifically need 120Hz for smoothest MS Flight Simulator experience using TrackIR head tracking device. Is 120Hz selectable or can you make a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel?
120hz is not selectable so you'll have to create a custom resolution through the Nvidia control panel. My only options are 165, 100, and 60hz.
@@Bit-Vik You tested this in SDR 8 bit? Another guy said 120Hz is selectable. Could you try again, and if 120Hz isn't a default option, please try and make a custom resolution and report if that worked.
I just used ddu to wipe and reinstall the drivers. 120hz is still not selectable, but I was able to create a custom resolution which worked.
@@Bit-Vik Great! Thanks for the help.
Is the text really that blurry on these? Also is it fine for watching TH-cam and movies does it scale? Do you edit and maybe do programming on it? Thanks.
I do some editing but dont program on my main machine, editing looks great and Im sure this monitor will excel in productivity tasks. The text blurring isnt too serious but it can be easy to notice sometimes. Content that is uploaded with a higher aspect ratio will scale on this monitor, otherwise, with 16:9 content, there will be black bars on the left and right.
I have a 3080 will that be alright? I play fps games as well as single player games
DLSS should make it manageable but I would probably recommend upgrading tbh. Here are some benchmarks: th-cam.com/play/PLUJgpgwGYs0bPL8CWio4B8gcs99VfErau.html

Thanks so much. Welcome to the club 😁
and you really decide to buy the DWF Version over the DW? We both have a 4090, and even if that fan noise of the gsync module would go on my nerves.. i would pick the DW Version, cause it has that Gsync Module. I read somewhere the DWF could have flickering issue's due to be not officially supportet by nvidia.. maybe the last firmware update fixed it.. idk
Yup, no issues with vrr flickering on my end. I would personally recommend getting the dwf but just get whichever one is cheaper, since now both models support firmware updating. I also don't know if I'll continue to stick with Nvidia, so getting a monitor that supports vrr with both GPU vendors feels like I'm future-proofing better.
@Bit-Vik thank you for your quick reply.. I've picked the previous Monitor AW3420DW and I'm very satisfied. I will skip this OLED Generation of Monitors for my work&gaming needs
I got this as well recently for 570 USD, hope I can balance my usage with this and my lg c3.
$570 is a great price. Nice job
How/where did u get this monitor so cheap? Lowest I found was $699 on eBay.
TH-cam randomly recommended me your channel. Just got this monitor. I wish you the best of luck with your TH-cam channel! Good review!
Thank you :D
Which monitor is better between LG 34GS95QE and alienware AW3423DWF? Consider that I have a normal use, I edit videos, play games, watch movies etc.
The LG has a higher refresh rate and a more pronounced curve. If you like more noticeable curves go for the LG but otherwise go for the Alienware.
The LGs 800r curve and matte finish are really holding it back compared to the AW
I was trying to decide between this or the lg ultrawide because it can do 240hz while the alienware only does 165hz. I know the Dell looks better and brighter just worried if I will miss 240hz. I have a 4080 super so I can drive 240fps in fortnite cod etc
Which lg one? If it's the 45" model I would say avoid it for now, the ppi is way too low imo. If it's the 34" version (same size as this monitor) go for it! 240hz would be awesome tho.
I got this monitor about a month and a half ago and was debating on getting the c3 42inch but went with the Alienware instead. Picture is amazing but the lack of 2.1 and HDMI passthrough arc and earc was giving me a bit of buyers remorse in terms of pairing it with my Atmos system, also ultrawide with ps5 was not the best. flash forward and I got a 65inch c3 for my living room and tested my PC on it. I no longer have any regrets. The ability for this monitor to handle motion, color accuracy, brightness, and the curved screen adds to gaming immersion more so than I thought it would, overall its an amazing monitor glad I have the best of both worlds in my office and in my living room/Movies on the C3 are really really great, but gaming is out of control on the monitor! The ps5 on the c3 is sweet too. As for the scratch...exchange it if you can that sucks. As for the text fringing I am not sensitive to it at all, so not an issue and I do a lot of writing in word
I agree with your sentiments. As someone who sticks to PC gaming the lack of HDMI 2.1 didn't bother me too much. That being said I have a C2 in my living room and the experience there is just so good too!
Great review man, just to clarify tho, it does support 10 bit color out of the box, just not at the full refresh rate, right?
Ah thanks for pointing this out, you're right. Out of the box it *does* support 10-bit but limits the refresh rate to 100hz. The guide on Reddit shows how to enable it while retaining the full 165hz refresh rate.
@@Bit-Vik In fact, it supports 10 bits up to 157hz
i concur with @pedrowilson8344 ..im able to get 157hz at 10 bit color
great review!!
Thanks so much :)
Thank you for sharing your story. Yes the 4090 is over kill, but it is what it is. If you want the best, you get the 4090. I've been into Computers for years, and too many graphics cards I've had to even talk about. Please keep up your TH-cam journey. :)
Thank you for watching :) I'm very excited for the 5090, especially if it's a polylithic, dual-die monster that some rumors are suggesting. I have more videos planned so feel free to subscribe!
it was interesting to watch
Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback
