My character is a fps character so the auto rigging doesn't work it only has arms :((((
Just give him a basic body. Enough for the auto rigging to work. Then add to mixamo. After mixamo bring back in blender , delete the body parts and keep just the arms.

Its because the ods were in her favour, the kamala model was smaller so trump kept hitting over her😂, thats why playtesting is important in gamedev i guess

use live retarget mode not working for me ! i'm using shorter model than the manny mannequin
So if your using a different model then the mannequins you have to do the following: 1. Create an animation blueprint for the metahuman 2. Setup use pose from mesh in the anim graph and promote the source component mesh to a variable. 3. Setup a retarger that uses your custom mesh to metahuman 4. Back in the animgraph of the animation blueprint , setup the use pose from mesh component with that new retargeter. 6. In event update animation, cast to your blueprint and get the mesh you want to retarget from. 7. Set the source component variable to that mesh 9. Back in the blueprint set your metahuman to your new animation blueprint and it should work I think the reason use live retarget doesnt work is because it uses the retargeter from manny to metahuman by default.

somehow this breaks when using the built in character movement crouch, i might have to circumvent and make my own crouch but im having trouble figuring out why it does break atm.
Could either be something like the bone that your tracing from is moving to a different location with the crouch, make sure you make a seperate socket that you can trace from, or make sure the capsule component isnt affecting your trace. So id suggest turning hidden from game off and making the trace visible to debug😎
@ hm I wonder if a socket that isn't parented to the pelvis would work as the root

I can smell the game’s name is gonna be “Freedom 🦅!!!”
this works pretty well on low poly geometry but totally craps out on more complex structures like landscapes, any idea how to mitigate this? edit: NVM accidentally used - node at 14:05 and took me two days to notice. Thanks for making one of the most straight forward IK tutorials on youtube.

The only thing mine does now is teleport down a ledge if the fall isnt too big. Does anyone know what I did wrong? It did nothing to the feet.
Weird problem I have a character that when importing goes to its side? I checked the axis values and its correct when going into blender but is lopsided in unreal engine? ive had alot of issues with unreal engine recently on amd laptop

Man I drop my fbx t-pose in and it locks up my unreal every time. Says “preparing skinned assets (0) 100%” then won’t respond to any other inputs on the software. Rest of pc is completely fine other software no problem. So weird lol

I'm having an odd issue where when my character goes uphill the legs/knee is now suddenly bending backwards, any idea what setting that would be under in there? It wasn't doing that until I added this so I'm not quite sure what in here I need to look at to correct it.
@@deygus go play around with the constraints in the ik setup and test the bend there

Great tutorial, but maybe not for 'beginners'. I ended up saying to myself : ''what is a default slot? what is a state machine? what is a variable? what is a blueprint, what is a blend space and why do you place them in that manner'' and so on. There's not much of explanations for a beginner's tuto. I feel like you have to know much of Unreal to actually follow.
