I treasure my third great grandfather's journal entries of his conversion and living with Joseph Smith, but I treasure the journal of my second great grandfather as well. Although he did write about the daily weather and what he bought and sold, on the day his wife died, he wrote nothing. About a week later, his only entry for the day said, "I sure miss Cynthia." Those few words are unexpectedly poignant for me.

I keep praying about a woman who has been the greatest friend to me, being the one person who hasn't run away from me when I got expressive about my lifelong MDD (saying "no one understands how much I hate myself")... She's moved, and despite good video messaging back and forth even while she was in my ward, and once after she moved a month ago, she's ignored my couple video messages and texts since. 😔 I've had impressions we could become more than friends in time, and this lack of communication makes me doubt such whisperings of the Holy Spirit (like, was I too cautious? I didn't want to be one of those "I had a vision we're to be married!" 🙄). I would love to have her as at least just a friend! Thankfully little hints from Heavenly Father like what you said standing out to me help me not give up. 🙏 I am thankful for His comfort and guidance.

Your scholar this week made a mistake. Joseph Smith was NOT a gentile. In 2 Nephi 3, it is very clear that Joseph is a literal descendant of Joseph the son of Jacob and Rachel. That would make Joseph of the house of Israel.

BUT... Christ uses the young often to bring about wonderous things. Christ himself taught as a young boy and astonished many.🥰🙏🏼

I understand Melissa's quandary about children being hurt or killed. Bad things do happen to the innocent, but we all have trials. I always felt that death is different for Heavenly Father and isn't the awful thing it is to us. I always felt that children being trapped in wicked homes were freed from a trap when they died. I hope that makes sense!

Mormons are such good people but need to just read the Bible and ditch the other documents

Modern prophets do not override what earlier prophets had warned the people of their time. All messages are for us to learn about the importance of their messages and warning, even if we are following the current prophet. Time doesn’t take away the importance of the messages and warnings of any prophet.

Our Prophets and Apostles send out messages once a month through the world by the Church Magazine The Liahona so we can read those messages and it’s like that they are standing on a wall across the world it’s in the app and on the church website in many different languages

We are less than the dust... To me is interesting because in Hebrew the name Adam means "dust" and the name Eve means life... maybe being less than the dust of the earth is referring to us as descended from Adam who fell and that we inherited the need to be rescued from our fallen state and so a reference to the garden of Eden
