Scanlines
I came up with the lead sound on this accidentally by mashing in some random notes on the OP-Z and then playing around with looping on the tape track until something sounded neat... then created the other sounds around it. It all came together when I added in the Modal Skulpt on the semi-randomized sonar-sounding notes.

This is just the end of the song, where Stuart invites the audience to sing a few lyrics. Turn up your speakers for the short conversation between Stuart and the second audience member - it's funny :) Sorry this one is so shakey. Recorded at The Avalon in Boston, MA on 2/28/06 Paul

Yellow Watchman Goby meets Tiger Pistol Shrimp
มุมมอง 1.7K13 ปีที่แล้ว
I've had this goby in my Biocube 14 gallon tank for a few weeks. Today the local fish store finally got a pistol shrimp in stock. After acclimating, the pistol shrimp immediately started digging a hole. About 20 minutes later, the goby made his way from his old cave to his new home with the shrimp (shown in this video). Now instead of hiding all day, he stands guard.

Love how the crowd cheers for Homestar Runner
Out behind the Safeway Just before the flood Huffed some cans of spray paint And begin to vomit blood One more night in this town's Gonna break me I just know Hang on to your dreams 'til someone makes you let them go Stumbled on down Indian Hill Tail between my legs Sick taste in my mouth Folgers Crystals and hard boiled eggs If I can't run away tonight I don't know what I'll do Hang on to your dreams 'til someone beats them out of you Do what you have to do Go where you have to go When the time comes to loosen up your grip, you'll know Called my friend in New York Three thousand miles away Halfway through her metamorphosis Nothing I could say Hoard my small resentments Like rare and priceless gems Hang on to your dreams until there's nothing left of them

OMG this looks awesome, just saw your post on gizmodo, thank you for sharing. It looks like it comes from something like a phone, right?
Whoops! A few mistakes down there! It was Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline Fife and NOT New York. Apologies for my spelling mistakes too. Nothing to do with the wine - just the new phone! I even managed to spell Yat Kha incorrectly! Bed time I think....
THE someone special who recommended I listen to June Tabor and The Oysterband 's version of 'Love Will Tear us Apart' attended a concert at The Carnegie Hall in 2001 were Yhat Ka were the support band. There was an at attendance of between 20 - 50 and that was including the O.A.P's they shipped in to make the place appear more crowded. John Jones said when we have a crowd this small, we usually invite you up onto the stage. Also, how on earth does that guy produce that sound!? Amazing! Before The Oysterband recorded Love Will Tear us Apart with June Tabor, John Jones maintained that it was a folk song! After listening to their version I'm inclined to agree - even though I do love the original by Joy Division.
What's the instrument she is playing?
He is. And the instrument is called : Igil
@@ETstudio1 SHE is playing the igil.
@@justaplainspokengirl he is called Sholban Mongush, and he is a male musicant!!!!!!!
agree 100% but new inventions are good. more idea are better
Amazing
Wow you were right up front! This is great, sorry I missed this.
too complicated, a savonius turbine is simpler and likely just as effective.
There is a US patent on this Idea, I think! Blinking blind or blinking sail, I think! Its disappointing when you have a good idea and discover that someone is ahead of you. It is, nevertheless, a good idea. Name it 'Venetian blind yurbine' and rig it vertical. 'The V.V. turbine!
cutest couple of nature
Yes That is true, when My uncle in 1985 wanted one something like. that that I conceived Bejesus both vertical and horizontal, the First one had 32 10 ga, 14" x 4 ft blades It when assembling took off with only 2. Miss matched whatever later I made Bejesus and a 20 Bladder horizontal all with Marine 3/8 Plywood. Aluminum is better and I like the Flashes.
I like the air flow vents. that is a venetian blind system, and it is awesomelyy simple, accurate, and efficient, as w ell as light weight.
Why would you imagine this is more efficient? Only one side is generating any thrust, and it's from drag. Conventional turbines rely on lift to move the blades in a circle, the entirety of which is spent going round and round with no wasted upwind trip. This thing is a disaster. Think about all the wind farms full of horizontal axis machines. They're the ones that work best and are the most reliable. You're denying the evidence offered by the one metric that matters most: money.
this design have low RPM. Thats big problem. see this Fin in mine profile with bigger blade.
Looks like you put a lot of work into the model.
Even if 1/2 of the moving parts failed.....this thing would work for many days, weeks, months or even years before maintenance would be necessary to bring her back to par. Build it and find out for sure before I do and claim credit ;)
it doesnt have too many moving parts however one sode of the blade is being pushed by the wind.... what happens to the other side also being pushed by the wind.. my guess it wouldnt move unless it had neutral guide veins to direct the air on the turbine blade in only one direction not both. thats my guess atleast im not an engineer so..
Too many moving parts.
I see early failure in its future.. too many moving parts
i have that bag too, great vid and bag :)!
nice, but can someone explain me what the framework is needed for?
Sounds like he's been gargling gravel.
the more moving parts the better chance of failure and more maint.
great vid! thinking of picking one up, so thanks for the review/unpacking!
did you go for a swim
that's awesome, i want to search some paper on this way, but i can't find anything, does anyone know the keyword?? thks!
igazi romantikus hang :) ilyen mély hang nem is létezik :)
Awesome!
i hold pattents on this pls contact me
people say it wouldnt work. must be a good design. i bet it could spin the earth backwards, lol keep it simple stupid my ass.
So cute :3
wow. fantastic!! mountain goats live shows are the best!
Why not just keep it simple???
Seems to be an awful lot of mechanical parts to maintain. Each panel has 6 pivot points x 5 flaps x 20 panels. That's 600 pivots that need to be lubricated and replaced after they wear out.
VAWT's are Vertical Axial Wind Turbines are known to be less efficient than traditional three blade horizontal designs. AFAIK It's most due to the rotating mass working against the wind on its way back around. Cool Animations though! good work!
