In the yester-years, the cheapest way to get a new light airplane to Australia was to just remove all the other seats and install a large ferry tank. One brand is still made in Au, called Turtle pack , rubber fuel cells. The longest leg are from Continental US to Hawaii at around 2100 Kt miles. All civilian jets are still speed limited to the "sound barrier"
