@@reshmadharani7798 Hello, thanks for your comment. On the PTCB there is a course for CSPT (Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician). There are coursework and certifications for compounding, although my job doesn't require it. I've worked at places where they train you and be certified within their company. I hope this helps! 🙂

⁠@@PharmTech_TNyes thanks, the CSPT at PTCB requires one year of work experience in compounding as a pathway and right now I’m at Walgreens. So I have to look for a company like yours here in Illinois who can hire as well as train me. If you know some links please share. I am PTCB certified with one year work experience.

@@reshmadharani7798 Ahhh I see. I use to work at Walgreens too as a designated hitter (I think that's the term) half in Pharmacy and helping in the store cashier and stocking. It's best to find a compounding/hospital/infusion job. Most don't require compounding experience although it lists on their skill requirement they bypass that skill and are willing to train. If you see that on a job app it won't hurt to still Apply!!! I'm sorry, unfortunately I don't have links. I kept applying to jobs that were compounding base and they eventually hired me and trained me without a certificate in compounding. Did your Pharm Technician school have an IV/compounding class? If so, put that as an experience on your resume.

@@kwbaby4297 I agree depends on location and which hospital/company. Not all hospitals pay well just like any other settings. I've been through my fair share of outpatient and inpatient settings locally. It comes down to what you're looking for in terms of benefits, insurance, 401k, pension, pay, work distance, etc...

@@DearReticent Hello, this position is called Infusion Center Pharmacy Technician which specializes in compounding hazardous/chemotherapy medications aside from pre meds. Nope, we do not come in contact with patients. Yes, that's correct, we are at the back of the scene preparing meds, delivering meds, filling pyxis stations, for the majority of our time. Yes, you're right. Cell phones are not allowed in and out of clean room. I've sanitized and regloved my hands as well as the device. Placed everything in a new/clean ziploc for only sole purpose of one day recording. I've asked for permission too 👍.

Hi! I work in California. Give yourself time and patience for sterile compounding. Although it's not for everyone, it's a really great experience to have to put on your resume. Depends on the company, pay rate increase by having sterile compounding. Thanks for watching 🙂 Happy holidays 🎄💫

Taking exams are a little nerve racking. Best advice to be prepared and confident. Know your generics/brand names, classes and mechanism of action. Pharmacy law. Math and there are some scenario questions. This all depends on the test you're getting (randomized). Wishing you the best of luck on your exam, you got this! 🍀🌟💫

Hi! Thank you for watching! Congrats on being a tech! 🎉 🙂 Pharmacy setting: where to start or what to choose definitely depends on your preference. I love inpatient more than retail. I knew what setting I liked when I was in Pharm Tech school and used that as a goal to get there and didn't give up: manifestation 💫 I disliked retail because I didn't want to deal with insurances or with direct patient contact and my communication skills aren't up to par. Going straight into inpatient is definitely doable. Make connections, work hard, have exceptional work ethics and Be positive! Pharmacy is a small world they say. Hi! Yes and no. When I'm the chemo compounder shift usually we sit down. Otherwise, other shifts we typically stand: deliver meds, dispensing, etc...

If you know what you want and passionate about what to do career wise to advance...go for it! 👌 For being PTCB certified and a hospital tech: Pay is going to vary from state to state, city, years of experience as a tech, and company/institution. Don't forget to tell your hospital HR that you're certified. Some hospitals give you extra money for it. Each company should list their Min, Mid, and Max for hourly pay. Sell yourself at interviews, tell them your worth and always, ALWAYS negotiate! TYSM for your support and watching! Good luck! 💫

I know exactly what you mean 😅. This pharmacy is a new build. Everything was brand new 😍. I've worked at pharmacies where it needs major renovations. A pharmacy makeover is probably the last thing on their to-do list.
