Great video. Well said. I have a replica baby as well. She is the Tink, and she is made by the same company as your August. I also got her from Amazon for about $40. I love her just as much as if she were a real reborn. I think sometimes dolls, just like anything else in life, can be used as status symbols. That is such a shame when something that was meant to bring joy is used to bully others.

I have a Zapf creation weighted baby doll, he is nowhere near as real looking as Reborn, but I love him anyways. I buy him clothes and toys, he is my one and only precious baby doll. Maybe if the name Reborn wasn't used to describe a baby doll that looks more real than other dolls, there would not be a divide between people who love baby dolls.

I wouldn’t want to give her up either. She’s a lovely silicone. I think at times we feel guilty doing things for ourselves because we are constantly thinking about the needs/wants of our family. I can never spend money, especially a large amount, on myself without feeling immediately guilty because of how that money could have been spent on others. BUT, as my husband reminds me, I’m a part of the family and I deserve to have nice things the same way I feel him and my kids deserve to have nice things. So I try to remind myself that my happiness is important too; and as long as my family isn’t actively suffering, it’s ok to spoil myself a little sometimes too. 🙂

She’s gorgeous! No wonder you want to keep her! You deserve to be happy in your hobby as much as anyone else does, and you deserve to keep her.
