My brother and I used to have 3 of these. They were all the same. We got them from a local church where they were doing this event where they have a bunch of different random items that they were giving out to people for free. (Btw, we didn’t actually go to church, this was just something my mom heard about so she took us there to pick out some free stuff). We thought they were cool at the time, even though the clips only played the first minute of the song. I once took one of them with me on a school field trip, just to listen to it, but I wasn’t allowed to let anyone else listen to it because there was this weird requirement where you had to bring in a note that was written by your parent or guardian to actually allow your classmates to listen to whatever music player you brought with you to listen to on the bus, and my mom didn’t write a note for that. I had to let several classmates know that because a few of them asked me if they could listen to it. My brother and I don’t have these things anymore. Nowadays, I realize just how dumb these things are and how much better an iPod touch or an MP3 player is then this, because you can have multiple songs at once stored on one device, you can get the WHOLE song instead of just the first minute of the song, and you don’t need to carry multiple chips with you for each song. Btw, I have both an iPod touch and an MP3 player. My brother got me the iPod touch even though I didn’t ask for one and I already have the MP3 player which I bought with my own money several years prior. He bought me the iPod touch just because he wanted to and also because I’m his favorite sister.

A cd had over an hour of near-lossless sound. At 700 MB you could store a good 4-5 hours of 320 kbps mp3 auto as well (I use my mp3 cd player in my car to store DJ mixes and episodes of A State of Trance). This wasn't a "step up" from CDs. In fact one could argue mp3s were a huge step back until we entered the 50+ GB space.
