    problem with gold: buying price is usually higher than the selling price. Good luck making a profit. ETFs, stock, and the other products you mention do not provide passive income unless they offer dividends. And the default has the dividends buy new stock.

    • @onyekaokonkwo
      @onyekaokonkwo 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Stocks also come with capital appreciation. People take profits prediodically if not holding for the long term. And yes, there's also the dividend option. Thanks for adding to this. And as for gold, you can buy and hold a gold ETF as opposed to physical bars.

      If you already have a job, I'd recommend looking within your current role for things you're not so good at and committing to learning more about them, either through other more experienced colleagues or online. Another thing you can do is to look at job Ads for similar or future roles you'd be interested in, take a look at the responsibilities in that role and do a skills assessment. If there's anything you don't know well, I suggest taking the time to start learning them now.

    What is the difference between contingency fund and Emergency fund?

    • @onyekaokonkwo
      @onyekaokonkwo หลายเดือนก่อน

      An emergency fund is a safety net most specifically used when you lose access to your primary income source and need to tide over until you find a new one. A contingency fund is to make room for unplanned expenses like your car suddenly breaks down, or your home needs an urgent repair because a rain storm shattered your window, etc. Most people use them interchangeably, but they are better kept apart. Either ways, keep 3-6 months of your expenses saved for whenever an unplanned need arises.

      Can you help with this calculation, 1 million naira investment and the interest if left for like a year.

    • @onyekaokonkwo
      @onyekaokonkwo หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ImageTechnology-gt2tk Like I said in the video, the interest rates is not fixed for an entire year. It changes daily as the market changes. But assume that it averages at 7% per year, then your calculation will be 1m × 7% x 365 days If you chose to reinvest the interest rather than spending it, then the total value at the end of the year should be more.

    So if i understood this daily percentage clearly, lets say on average the daily percentage is 6%. if i invest 1million i get 60k daily or monthly or yearly?

    • @onyekaokonkwo
      @onyekaokonkwo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interest rates are on a per annum basis. So 6m x 1/365 x 6% will be the interest for that day.
