Episode 61 - Justice Deferred

First, they explore the case of Mayvette Monzon, a popular bartender whose tragic death has left her family searching for answers. Next, they delve into the disappearance of Devon Goodrick, a man who vanished after reconnecting with old friends, and is believed to have been murdered. Finally, they examine the haunting case of six women-Rose Peters, Lisa Gavin, Glenna Sowan, Tracey Chartrand, Frances “Annie” Grant, and Karen Lee Taylor-who are thought to be victims of a serial killer, their deaths still unsolved and their families desperate for justice.
As the new year approaches, Christie and Denika reflect on the power of manifestation and collective action. They discuss the need for reform in the Canadian justice system, hoping for a future where these cases are given the attention they deserve, and justice is finally served. You ladies seem to think that the boyfriend and the mom are going to hire people to do that to this girl? Why? That's a lot of people knowing. I don't believe it. But you dismiss the drug connection?
I think it's common sense that if lindsay wasn't in the living room with the clients by then. Huh,, thats what i would do. Run upstairs.
The husband was a teacher at my highschool, we all grieved for him as he was staying quiet during her missing persons, to find out he had done it.
We went to school with her, and we were on the search teams looking for her. Like you said. It seems like yesterday this happened,
I went to elementary school with her and me and Heather we're good friends. I still really haven't gotten over the fact that she's gone 😪
Rip trina ❤
Good info, Thanks. Yes, the vocabulary needs a bit of tune as it can attract the bad vibe men; it is believed that such jerks are being manipulated by evil spirits that hijacked their Mind during the traumatic events. I posted some drone footage of Melanie's memorial and of the canyon in case you never seen the area...it is special from above
remove stupid music and excitement at beginning.
@@witcher8852 have you ever listened to any of our other episodes ?
I was looking forward to your show, but right out of your mouth was the F word, followed by other vile words. I guess it’s popular today, but so unnecessary and ugly. As woman talking to the public, please show some class. Nobody needs to say anything to me, I’m off here and won’t see your reply. Not that you care. 😢😢😢
He is in Bowness
Hi ladies, I've somehow stumble across this video. I am Melanie's sister, 4 years younger than her. I'd Iike to make a couple corrections and add some other important information. Mel was born in New Westminster. We lived in Coquitlam, Mission, Sechelt, Chilliwack then to Surrey in 1987-88. We lived in Chilliwack with our Dad but moved to live with our Mom, in Surrey. The Bank next to the salon was Scotiabank. They had footage of Auger there and also at an ATM at Guildford Mall, where he withdrew from her bank account. They also have footage of him at a Tim Hortons in Edmonton where he had tried to lure 2 teenage girls. This of course was after he'd done away with Mel. Auger, was also named as a suspect in a strong of missing Toronto sex workers. A woman came forward after seeing Mel's story and recognized him. She was lucky enough to escape him. There had been a special done on him and this topic on CBC. I haven't been able to find it. In September 1995, my family and some volunteers actually went to Ottawa. We held a Rally at Parliament Hill. There were a few MPs and MLAs backing us and other families in the wake of losing their child or family member to repeat offenders and those barely punished under the Young Offenders Act like the case of my Frank Hurt school mate, Jesse Cadman. CapItal Punishment would be one topic brought up in the House Of Commons on September 19-20, 1995.There were many petitions brought into the debates as well. The proceedings can easily be found by searching House of Commons September 1995 Melanie Carpenter. Some changes were brought. I believe that a stalking law was changed but in all honesty, I can't remember. This case is considered Cold. This is very frustrating to my family and I. Sadly, my Dad passed away in 2013. Our half brother, in 2021. Thank you, for remembering my sister here. Although tragic, awareness is key. I hope that your viewers become more self aware of their surroundings, from watching. Anything can happen to anyone, anywhere. If you're on Facebook, I created a group called Remembering Melanie Carpenter. Anyone is welcome to join. I have a huge binder of the newspaper articles. I have shared many of them there as well as photos and videos of her. I try to keep her memory and story alive. My Dad said that her death will not be in vain. I never forgot that. I watch a lot of True Crime. I will add your podcast to my watchlist. Cindy Carpenter
I think there should be a podcast on how not to solve a crime
I could talk hours on this subject ,have me on ,I’m an information auditor
I could talk hours on this subject
When crimes can’t be solved on islands or remote places but
Vulnerable and misjudged ,not buying into the program
They can’t help themselves
Ya ya
Ya ya ,who’s the witness ?
Then head to Tim Hortons
7 11 for sure
7 11
Resisters will be targeted,”the gathering “
But unknown to the police they and their families are the target ,who would have thought
I guess it’s like showing vaginas in court
And they do t define it as sexual assault
Did the neighbours notice Jason
Professional people
Who was it ?
She didn’t talk like that ,get real
Late lunch
I want to know the weeks before ,what’s going on in the office
Anyway one looks at it’s a farce
Calgary police have Lindsay as involved in some drug deal ,imagine this
I don't understand why you have to use such poor vocabulary 😢Its disrespectful and it takes away so much from the story...💔Its a shame.. Truly too bad .
Aw, we are sorry to have made you feel that way! Maybe if you started at episode 1, you could get a sense of who we are and how we talk. Not every podcast is for everyone, and we apologize for you stumbling across us.
Just theories Things don’t add up with her boyfriend & his mother. Trust me no girlfriend is going to tell their boyfriend’s mother that they’re afraid of their ex. Who encouraged Lindsay to show the house? Her boyfriend & her boss. Who promised to keep her safe? Her boyfriend. He could have been present & could have financed the deal. Instead he hung outside with a friend that he was going to dinner with after late lunch. Jason’s mother picked out the listing, went/planned last supper at Sauce Jason’s mother went by the apartment when Lindsay was getting ready for the showing to make sure Lindsay was going alone. Who else had access to Lindsay’s computer ? Her boyfriend & his mother! The accents could have been Portuguese because the builder is friends with Shirley? That’s too much of a coincidence! Lindsay may of seen multiple things: mortgage fraud, which is very lucrative. Why does Jason have still till this day his friend’s mortgage license hanging in his office? And I think Lindsay knew the real informant Jason’s friend who lived in their building & dealt drugs. He was the real rat!
You guys sound like a joke this isn't funny... It was my sister
We are definitely sorry we made you feel that way. If you listen to our other episodes, you will understand the dynamic between us. We respect all victims and never joke about them or the circumstances surrounding their death. We do however not really care about the perpetrators. There are many documentaries about this case, and we feel we remained very respectful while discussing the victims. Again, we are sorry we made you feel this way and maybe our podcast isn’t for everyone.
😞 'PromoSM'
was it sexually motivated as he was a peodo
We were in grade three when this happened 😮
Same mindset as so many missing individuals or murdered
I want to audit this case
What was some of the responses of suspects on Lindsay’s fears
Amazing man
Classic script
Everyone knows
They tell family gruesome details even when they are not true ….. ,get off on it as I experienced
Who has seen the autopsy report
Like who has he pissed off …..the police ,oh my
Yup
