This was a big video for me as well as a proud moment. The team at Piscifun reached out to me and offered me a partnership with them. They sent me one of their baitcasters, the Piscifun Alijos 400. In today's video, I unbox it and put it straight to work over some local artificial reefs.
I was impressed with it's smooth drag and robust feel. The all aluminum body was confidence inspiring as well as aesthetically pleasing. If you'd like to purchase one, go to Piscifun.com and be sure to use my code, SMK15, to receive an additional 15% off your purchases.

I Used A Drone To Locate Redfish & Trout - SPOILER ALERT: Worked Like A Charm
is that 8000 / 10000 / 14000 size is same body and just different spool size?
what rod is that
2007 and 2022 model by far are the two most beautiful to me.
Just got mine today!! Will be used for musky/Pike, definely feels high quality.
Those particular parking brake drums (along with 95% of all modern drum style parking brakes) have the ability to self adjust. Shouldn’t have to touch the adjuster unless the drum is stuck to the shoes or you are actually servicing the parking brake assembly
Would this Stella 8000 handle a giant GT?
@teammusky7469 It would. Depends on the scenario. If the GT had structure close by, it would be challenging. If you were in open water with the right rod, yes, this Stella would manage it.
Any chance of more videos with the alijoz 400? Love that reel!!
@@angelrodriguezsantana773 I'll make some
End of the video at 10:48 he is missing a lug nut on the passenger front wheel.
Im sold on getting that Onyx color V2 for my next BG MQ. That pairing is killer in terms of aesthetics 💪🏽
@BallinRiceBowl Gorgeous combo. And still holding it's finish to this day. I have the 6000 in this video and a 14k.
I know I’m late but did u have to remove the ac line for the driver side to get it in?
Nice set up and the reel seems to be solid! What rod are you using??
@@somerville94 Thanks. That's a Daiwa Proteus conventional. Acid wrapped guides. Medium Heavy. Love that rod.
@@ScottMikles thank you ! Keep up the good work 🤙🏼
Как называется модель вашей яхты?
My man is rippedddd
You don't set it up with a sliding sinker on the mono? I've been told that if the shark pucks it up and feels the weight it will drop the bait... thanks
@@raider6atv They could care less. Redfish will do things like that. Sharks will pick it up with a massive hook hanging out of it, obvious wire, and an 8 oz anchor holding it down. They're savages lol I've caught real small ones up to over 7 footers on that setup. It's golden. Welcome.
Hello Scott Mikles , can you tell me the Daiwa 21 Certate SW 8000 is good quality . i want to buy one but some one said the gear material is very bad , so i m scare .Thank you for your time.
Be safe out there that’s really deep water I can’t go that deep I get so scared I stay by the beach I measure the depth with my paddle
Never heard of the c14. I’ve heard of a ci4 though.
I'm all in for saving money but your lightning is horrible
Hey man, this was an awesome video. It’s amazing seeing these reels being put to work like that with those big fish. How has the reel held up since then? I’ve been thinking about getting either this or the Saltiga in the 5k size for large snook. I find myself wanting the Certate more because the design is so flawless.
What rod were you using
You need to put your crimp sleeves into the crimping pliers oriented vertically. Then you will put the rounded corner into the appropriate size slot in the crimping pliers. Look up blacktipH how to crimp properly. Just looking out
Love the Daiwa Certate! I got the 8k.
Is it made in Japan?
The 2016 is way smoother than 2021 MQ. Yes I have both.
Reds are some of my favs! Not only are they fun to catch but they are also great to eat! Loved the video. New sub
Great intro! Fun to watch.
Great video. That's definitely how to catch em.
good info !
No striper
Stella.excatly..amazing reel..power and extrem..
That rod bend! 😮😮😮 Just wow!!
Great suggestion. I think the Carnage II would be perfect
Great video, what is your rod lenght?
What rod specifications pair with this reel?
That’s monster bass set up lol😊
learning so much of this video, when im hooked on on the lexa or spinning reel i keep the handle down and work the right hand on the rod (on a left hand reel), i see you get the handle up. I'll try that
Apakah daiwa lexa 300 Bisa untuk mancing teknik casting..???
How do you know where the artificial reef is without a fishfinder? I know you can get the coordinates on the website, but how do you get to them?
I do have a fishfinder/GPS. I have a Lowrance Hook 7" unit set up on my kayak. So that makes it easy.
@@ScottMikles I need to grab one. We’re headed down to Destin in May. Thanks for the reply and intel 👌🏼
@zacharyscott9146 You're welcome. It'll be well worth it to get one. There are tons of artificial reefs that are kayak distance down the coast here. From Santa Rosa Beach all the way to Navarre. In Navarre, there's a cluster of 26 of them all spaced out about 500 ft apart.
Sweet. Do you download maps that include the reefs or do you type in coordinates from the website and save them to your GPS?
@@zacharyscott9146 You can find them online in different places depending on which area you're looking for them in. Then I'll make sure they're the correct coordinate format and create the waypoint on my Lowrance.
Not spending 1100 on a drone lol but i plan to get a drone to help me fly fish
Does the main shaft have play? Does the stella feel like a toy after using saltiga? As my friend on youtube friend told me that there was play in the shaft as well as in the spool.
It doesn't have any play. And I do despise any play in my reels. When asked to compare the Saltiga and Stella I always say the Saltiga does feel more sturdy or heavy duty. Both have been great with no issues so far. Knock on wood.
Is that queens harbor by chance?
Just got this little baby today on sale at my local hunting store. Pairing it up with my St.Croix Trout series Ultra Light. Opening day is Saturday! I'm counting the minutes lol.
Lol I can feel the excitement. Few things better than taking a brand new rod and reel to slay some fish. Congrats on the combo, good luck!
@ScottMikles thanks, man. It's even worse because I bought the rod last year, and they're awesomely sensitive... but I accidentally snapped the tip on a 4 lb bass (not a bad a way to go, though) a week before opener. Warranty replaced it.. so I technically had the rod since last year and have yet to actually trout with it lol.
@@ScottMikles btw, thanks for the video! Even though it's older. I came here specifically to confirm the drag capacity because I run 4lb trout s.o.s. when trouting.
@Eclipse1988 You're welcome, glad it helped you out. The Stradic 1000 is a sick reel. You'll be happy you got it.
@ScottMikles heard they're 200 bucks, but the new model is only a different color or some bullshit, so my shop was blowing out these things for 149 lol. I knew what I was looking at and couldn't say no. Today was splurge day before opener lol. Cheers!!
Would you use the 10000 for surf fishing or is this just overkill for surf fishing?
A reel with this much line capacity and drag is bordering on overkill for that unless you want to target sharks, then it's a great option. A smaller model like a 6000 will keep it more sporty for anything besides sharks.
@@ScottMikles The reason I was thinking of the 10K size is due to the mono capacity. I probably can't sling a surf rod a 100 yards but still the smaller reels so even if I could that would leave about 170 yards. I guess that would be enough. What does the D-H stand for on the 6K? I noticed the 10K doesn't have a D
@311hitwall Deep spool, High Gear. You will have much less capacity with mono, so bigger size may be the move.
I was also looking at the Saltist and it must be a mistake on the Daiwa site. The 14k for the Saltist shows that it weighs less than the 10k??
Surf fishing?
Yeah, that's what fishing from the beach is called. Where the waves meet the beach is the "surf".
@@ScottMikles Should have elaborated. Trying to find a spinning reel for surf fishing. Debating on what to spend for a reel but Saltist MQ is my starting point.
2500? Yea bro to small
Very versatile reel. 👍
My dream reel ❤. I will get it one day
The number of shops that let calipers hang by the brake line is insane. What a joke.
Bro.. it's a Lamborghini .. ❤ it
Target acquired.. hellfire inbound
Lol exactly how it feels
What’s a budget rod to use on this reel? W Marine has smoking deals on these right now. Thinking of grabbing a 5000 and 8000
A MH Daiwa Proteus boat rod is money on my 6000
@@ScottMikles Thanks!! I just realized you’re by me 😂 I’m in Fort Walton ! Awesome channel man!
