I like to find old equipment and stuff that's been left to die in a barn or field somewhere and get it going gain! Whether its anything from a lawn mower to a tractor and anything in between, its all fun! You can email me at michaelsfab@gmail.com or if you wanna send me something, you can send it to old iron finder P.O. Box 383 aubrey, tx 76227. Thanks, have a great day/evening, and I hope you enjoy the channel
This makes me VERY Happy!!! Vintage Walden wheel loader back in business!!
Finally got the pump back in the little walden wheel loader and Im very happy that it works. Now I can move onto the other things it needs, which are all small things compared to that pump. Thanks for watching and again, sorry footage was screwed up. I've got both cameras figured out now. Best thing for me is to dedicate an sd card for each camera and dont switch them!!!

Picked up a job replacing 2 old worn out waer pumps. This was done in collaboration with another youtuber whose channel is "just another build channel" without his hepl, I couldnt have got this job done. Had to get down and dirty to remove these heavy son of a guns. I built a quick and dirty gantry crane with hoist to remove them and will use again later to install the new pumps. I'm super glad...

I bought a very unique tool for working on old equipment!!
I bought a used one, same model and everything but it came with the cables disconected, right where the capacitator is and i dont know how to Connect them, cables have Numbers, by any chance do you have a diagram
@@JesusGarcia-qq6gs no. Sorry. But you should be able to Google it. Maybe look up diagram by model and serial number
Difficult to find them in that decent of original condition. The fact that it turns easily, is the biggest part of the battle. Odd that it has the belt guide on the axle, but no belt pulley. We love those little Allis tractors, have 2 of them myself, plus 4 of the row crop versions! In their time, they were as good as and better than most of the competition.
@frankwurth5375 yes they sure were! The new stuff is nothing like that old stuff
You definitely have some cool old equipment out there. It’s nice to see that little walk behind start up and run.
@@gerechoppers thanks!! I can't get enough of this old stuff!!
👍👍
Thanks! Kinda surprised it worked. Hahah
That looks like a cool find. Great job.
@@gerechoppers Thank you!! I can't wait to hear it run!
Do u have a person interested in buying or are u gonna sale it
It's going to my father in law.
@oldironfinder womp i could test it out for u for a day lol
Pretty cool and definitely useful in remote areas.
@Bigislandguy Thanks! I'll be building another one soon. I've got my hands on some larger hp engines. I want to make it powerful, but still light enough to load in a truck by myself.
Yea she’ll start
Quiet too
2 weeks more likley
@@roosterwilson9371 that's just to get in front door! Haha
Might be able to find a rheostat off an old welder at the junkyard.
You're right. I never even tried that. It always welded so well like it was, I just left it that way. I hardly ever change the settings on my lincoln. I usually weld in one of two settings for all applications
Have you tried to TIG with it? I wonder what it would take to AC weld with an alternator.
No, haven't tried to tig yet.
I’m sure I’m going to enjoy her. 😂 I haven’t had a chance to drive it much or tinker on her yet(currently working out of town again), but I can’t wait to get back home and start enjoying it. Thanks
@@gerechoppers you will!!
Can we see this in action?
th-cam.com/video/AEciYhmSNmg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q07u755jOnn1k6R3
Sure can. Heres the link to my other video
I also have an older video where I'm using this exact same alternator with a bigger engine(13hp) in a homemade housing like an sa 200 kinda. I made a living with that alternator welder for a couple years before the diodes went out. I replaced them and it sat on a shelf for years until I decided to build this one with a smaller engine
well even if you didnt see you sure noticed .... be careful man. dont want to see you on the Darvin awards list
@johnsvensson9294 no joke!!! Yea, it let me know real quick!
At first I thought wasps got you.
@camshaftprelube i always worry about those damn things too. I'm highly allergic. But in this case, I think i would've rather been stung. Haha
I actually went to a school in '86 on those air cooled Deutz engines in Atlanta. Then the company I worked for either lost or gave up the dealership, and I never ended up working on a single one! I do recall crank starting one in class.
Thats cool! I would have loved to take that class! I have had and still have a few old deutz engines. And one very large v6 detroit 2 stroke diesel. I love these old diesel engines!!
This is a great idea, but how to control the current (amps)?
@@tedbastwock3810 you can control it to a degree with the rheostat
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OTC makes cone pliers, worth the money.
@rosscollins2910 yea. If I was doing these all the time, I would invest in a pair. But i hopefully won't be buying and fixing up anymore old dump trucks. Haha
Do you think it would move Aw-32 hydraulic oil?
@LiftTech22 not sure if this one would, but I've got a video of another pump from these folks that is designed for pumping oils and i used it for hyd oil no problem
YOUR DAM RIGHT!!
@michaelgreen4838 I think it's bs when these dealerships talk down to you like you're a damn idiot. Trying to tell me stuff that you and I both know isn't true. It's like, I'll pay, just fix the damn thing!!!
... I present you with an Official At-A-Boy Award 🏆 for a job well done ! ... 😁👍 ...
@@larryg.9187 well thank you very much!!! I really do appreciate it
I always used a 16 lb sledge hit it then take a small blade flat screw driver stick in the slot and take them right off.
@lesliegibbons6917 most, if not all came right loose with a few smacks. Some i had to kinda "unscrew" but they came right off nonetheless.
@oldironfinder Back in the 70s when you had to drive the studs out to get the brake drum off I was working at a place with another guy and we hated each other with a passion. He was holding the steel drift pin and me with the 16 lb sledge. For some dumb reaso he had his thumb on the top I said are you ready he says just hit the fing thing. I did his thumb never to be seen again. Boss runs out there said there were two on the ground him rolling around screaming and bleeding and me laughing. He quit.
@@lesliegibbons6917 i felt that conversation. Haha
I have the same year MF 35 gas engine, I can’t get the hood to close all the way, it’s hitting on the new radiator, what did you do to get it all the way closed? It’s hard to see in the video what you did to finally get it shut all the way.
Mine was actually hitting that bottom center piece because it was bent inward. I took that piece off and it closed all the way. It was real close though even with that piece off
@@oldironfinder Thanks I will fool with it again tomorrow, the new radiator I installed is almost an inch thicker than the old one. I’m not having much luck with any parts companies finding a thinner radiator. Thanks again!
@gregoryanderson6550 i hear that. This was the second one I ordered. (Ebay) sometimes it's a crapshoot whether the parts will actually fit or not. Glad I could help!
Pretty sure they are called collets
@@EZ4U2Say11 maybe so, maybe no.
suggestion....set your camera on a tripod , you going back and forth a hundred times to your truck is giving me motion sickness..exits video sorry
I usually do set it on a tripod. Or stick it to whatever I'm working on. I was wearing it on a chest mount for the beginning of this v8deo to see how it worked. Apparently it didn't. Haha
No worries though. I do listen to people when they watch my videos and try to accommodate when and if I can. Thanks for watching!
After 5 minutes of this video I am dizzy hire yourself a cameraman or at least buy a tripod, goodbye
i have one of these and in use every day
I've always wanted one of these. I've also got access to one of the reverse trike style. It's not near as complete as this one
I just use the channel lock plies or vise grips or something to get those wedges out or cone washers whatever you want to call them.
@@jimknight2041 i did use vise grips later after I knocked them loose by smacking the axle
I take a tiny flat screwdriver and tap it into the split in the wedge and spin the cone as I pull and they come right out. Try it you might like it.
I drove a 30 ton wrecker for years. I always hated those dam cone wedges. I had times I'd just pull the drive shaft
@deant876 i agree. Sometimes they come right out and other times they are a real pita. This truck actually has only 13000 original miles.
Also Try the TOOL Plier, cone washer will allow less beating on that face which is ultimately beating on the bearing., this is why you don’t drain the hub if it has a plug(s) and rotate it to keep bearing wet if have to hit the flange. Even the special pliers and flat tip tool are not enough without the hammer…
@@markbrandon7756 i always drain last.
Good Sound °°°°
@@keithburt7874 yes sir!
If to a welder
@roypetersen1400 this is like pewter or pot metal. No welding this crap
I have to figure out my horn next
Start with the easiest stuff first. Check fuses, check to make sure horn is getting power when you hit button, etc. All else fails, run a new horn, button, and wire
Genius i seen the bleeder screw on mine but it is my first diahatsu hijet. So I didn't touch it. Now I know what I need to do. Thank you so much for this
Not a problem. This is why I make these videos. To help someone else who might run across the same problem. Thanks for watching!!
If the shudder comes back you could try adding Hot Shots Secret Shift Restore to your trans fluid. I was having rough shifts under load on my Ram 2500 and it fixed the problem. I thought it was snake oil but I’ve had great luck with all of Hot Shot’s products.
😂🎤
lemon law, aka 72 hr right to rescind, is for any contract. but i guess its been more than 3 days now. "as is" means nothing, its bullshit.
@@user-b1i8u i bought it used. Does lemon law still apply?
Damn. Brand new, too. What a shame. It's a work truck. Can't even make money anymore.
@Ryan-u5f i hear that. Makes me damn sick. It's back in another shop right now today. It def the trans and or torque convertor. My luck.....
Thanks for the warning 👍👍👍
Wow, makes me worried about my 94 f350
They have the same type bracket, but are super easy to find. Now how hard they are to install. I don't know. Apparently it's a known issue on mine because they actually make aftermarket braces for the firewall.....nice
Happy for u hossy
Thanks, but it was short lived. I hustled and saved to put down over half the money for the truck (used) and it's already in the shop. Haven't even made the first payment. Or got the permanent tags. No fault codes, no check engine light, just started running like crap with no power. So it's at the dealership. Just my luck as always
Was 3' long enough?

@@Grimace_Integ420 gotta love those old tractors. Especially the diesels. They just keep on running.
Syphon the fuel, until it picks up and draws it into the carburetor
@@rickstephens1130 it's diesel. All I had to do was gravity feed fuel to the injection pump and away she went.
Cool truck dude
Yes sir. Thanks! Took alot of hard work and hustle to get this truck
The US Air Force had gasoline air compressors powered by opposed twin Owen. Hated that engine, very difficult to get started in subzero temperatures. The single cylinder compressors would always start no matter how cold. Nothing worse on a cold windy night than needing to drill one hole for safety wire and you cannot get the compressor started. The Owen compressors were such POS I started carrying an eggbeater drill for when I need to drill only a hole or two.
@curthenry9398 ill bet that was right. They are definetely finicky
I have an onan 6.5 that looks close to that that has less than 50 hours on the meter. Think mine is a bit newer. 1988 model. Great gensets that last forever and well built.
