@@marcanderson1396 so I’m going to teach you something really quick here! I’m guessing your new to this by your response, probably heard it from your local fly shop or something but actually not touching the fish at all and popping the hook out of their mouth is the better way to handle them. All nets (even rubber) pull slime off their body’s, our hands were wet if we handled the fish. The best possible way according to all studies is just removing the hook without them being handled what so ever.

@@marcanderson1396 I don’t mean this in any sort of a mean way but honestly your info is wrong! Putting fish in a net is not healthy what so ever, it all pulls their slime coat off!

@@ChristianGradowskiFishing People seem to forget that it's a blood sport. We are out here stabbing fish in the mouth. It's not good for them at all. If you can't handle that, try a different hobby.

Not new to any of it my friend. You do you. It’s the rest of the world that is wrong. Every guide on that river is wrong. Every guide on other great rivers in this state and others is wrong. Just you guys have it right. In no time at all your way of handling fish will take off. You literally said “our hands were wet if we handled the fish” so you know they should be. And yet at 2:10 in the video your partner strips a fish up out of the river and grabs the fish to stop it moving without wetting his hand. You are checking the camera to ensure it is on at 5:16 and then put that hand straight to the net and pull the fish out. Your comment about popping the hook out without ever touching is certainly true. And it is not what you showed in the video I just commented on. I’m guessing you are new to how this video posting thing goes so let me educate you - if you make a video your actions are there on display. Can’t walk it back after with comments.

@@shepshep8654 ouch dude! Honestly I’d say the hook was me paying dues to the fish gods. We ended up catching 11 salmon! So the hook in the foot was me putting some meat in the game 😂😂

in 20 years of fishing, this was a first... kinda funny it was the biggest hook I fish out of all the styles I fish. made me laugh it finally happen it was my fault lol

@@tyrellosterud7788 100% they are missing out. Bass are so underrated in the fly word, it’s all about trout out west but honestly for you it’s probably better because no one is crowding the bass rivers 😂😂 My leaders are always 40 or 35 for 2 feet, then 30 for 2 feet, 20 for 2 feet then my “tippet which is most of the time is 2 foot, giving me always a standard 6 foot leader, then my tippet will be anything just condition dependent meaning sometimes I run 17lb or 15lb for dirty water or big bugs, 14lb or 12lb for stained water with big or small bugs, and then 10lb for gin clear conditions I get mid summer.
