Hello!
My name is Manuel and I am a young german engineer working on desktop plastic recycling machines and other helpful devices.
Most machines are small automatic devices and serve the purpose of a more efficient, dezentralized plastic recycling.
Right now I work on an automatic desktop injection molding machine for plastic recycling.
I hope you enjoy the content and become as hyped as I am for plastic recycling.

Nice! Good job.
I have no printer, so - congrats! Hope for it to serve you well and long!
Well, are you going to give us the link to the files or are you just here for the bragging!?
Link?

Hi great project!!, There is an esp32 variant??
Hello téléphone watsab
when i buy this do you have to code manually by yourself or it already coded
Hi :) Yes you would have to flash it yourself. The controller in the parts kit is still packaged the way we get them from the suppliers. The intend with the Parts Kit is just to make the order process easier for those who want to rebuild it. You still need some skills with the arduino and should be able to flash code to it. More on that will come in the third video which will be ready soon. Thank you for the point, I should communicate that better in the article description!
Im doing a project for my class final exam, and i chose a cat food dispenser. This one is by far the cleanest and simplest i will try to do something like this except i need to check if it violates any guidelines for me making something like this. Keep up the good work the new video is awaited.
Seems like there is a bit of backturn needed at the end of a dispensing step:)
Should have showed how to make it
Como puedo conseguirlo?
Necesito esto exactamente
Tengo unas codornices y me gustaría se rellenaran los comederos automáticamente
what software is used for 3d design?
Fusion 360 :)
@@manutechlab Thankyou

Where can I buy it
Love it! 😍 Congrats on the well documented development! I´ll wait a little bit more to see if you will make it available/compatible with Home Assistant. Also, would be a must to have a water fountain with the same design to match the pair of bowls...🙃
Minimalistic? That lamp is anything but. I have a minimalist lamp, it's a wire thingy that holds a bulb, that's it, that's minimalist. Your lamp is awesome though, love the colour and warm light it gives is my favourite colour, like a candle.
hell yea!
If you use more advanced stepper drivers with spi. You can have this funcionality built in right into the driver. Same principle as automatic homing where the driver senses current spikes. You are able to set some value and if it detects the spike it will send signal to desired pin or SPI. Or you can just read the data yourself.
I used the cheap sensors to detect if my robot lawnmower has got stuck or collided . Needed to average the A/D input from the motor driver to remove motor current spikes.
Hi Andrew, Nice project! I average the input values too, otherwise there would be too much noise in the signal:)
Ordered both the electronics and download kit, can't wait!
Thats the true reusable rocket

Hello, do you worry about the bacteria on the printed part?
Hi, what device are you recording with and what brand is it? the quality is great. 😀
Hi :) it’s mainly a Sony a6400 with sigma 30mm lense, hope this helps
Thank you for this!!
Excelente trabajo, le deseo el mejor de los éxitos
A very interesting project, are you planning to do it with camera pet recognition?
would be fun :D not yet in planning, first thing is definitely to switch to an ESP and making a small UI for ESP Home. But maybe in another step. A recognition for a potentially clogged screw would be also very helpful i think
Soldering the red to black? Ok this will work but I would say it's better to repin the connecter.
Would indeed be the more professional solution!:)
I would definitely swap out the microcontroller for something with wifi and then use home assistant to set and control the feeding schedule :)
ESP32 with Wifi would be so easy to implement and use MQTT,
Excellent job with this design! I tried to solve this problem for my brother's dog food but ran out of iteration time with college classes. My auger kept getting clogged with larger food pellets but maybe I just needed a smaller diameter auger and reverse driving like you showed. I did connect it with Apple Homekit with an ESP32 and some janky hacking though. Like mentioned in some previous comments, Home Assistant would make this supreme.
I think a PD Stepper would be awesome in this, could be USB PD powdered, work with ESPHome, silent and have stall detection. Let me know if you want to try one out!
40€+ for making your own... For that range of price there are plenty of alternatives on Amazon that also offer remote control + are food safe. Otherwise, cool device.
It's more for the hobbyists I assume.
Yes definitely:) I don’t really try to compare it to commercially available ones it’s just a nice project and cool if sth like this can be build by yourself. I should do a better job at communicating that 👍🏻
Have you thought about replacing the Arduino with a Raspberry Pico W or an ESP32 to connect with Home Assistant?
Hi Luca:), yes. a lot of people suggested that and I think its a good idea! we are actually working on that, it ist just a small change for the pcb and a change in the mapping of the potis since the esp has 12bit GPIOs. Would be nice to also have the remote control option
@@manutechlab MQTT is a must!
Hi there :) here is a link to the Parts Kit & Board in case you want to have a look manutechlab.etsy.com I really hope you enjoyed this short video and got a bit of a deeper insight on how the electronics in this device is set up:) Cheers, Manuel
как же ты хорош
Would love to see this design with a lcd screen UI or a webapp to make it “smarter”
Hai lm sri lanka Machine price plz
Could you tell me what the locking mechanism at the top is called?
I think it’s some adaptation of a friction-fit bayonet mount. It is not really a bayonet mount since it doesn’t interlock with springs or pins that hold it in place, but the insert and twist movement is the same:) I hope that helps
@@manutechlab Thanks for the explanation and for the great project! You convinced me to buy a 3D printer :). I’m new to Fusion 360 - is there any tutorial for this locking mechanism? Since it’s an adapted mechanism, I couldn’t find a tutorial that directly covers it.
Nice :) that comment made me smile, which one you got? I really like the tutorials of Lars Christensen. That’s how I got started. He made a lot of really good ones and I designed the mechanism with the knowledge I got from his tutorials.
@@manutechlab I got the Bambu Lab A1! Thanks for pointing me to Lars Christensen’s tutorials-I’ll definitely check them out. Your project was the final push I needed :) Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome project, what is the approximate cost to make this?
Hi Esteban, it depends a bit on your location so I can only speak for me in Germany on the cost. There it is roughly at 60-80 euros for the non printable parts but often parts like the switches or buttons only come in sets which is a bit annoying.. that’s why I work on a parts kit for those non printable parts to make it easier to rebuild:) I hope this helps! Best wishes, Manuel
I'm both expected and unexpected at the same time 😂
I like it but i prefer manual. Thanks 4 the idea. Great video.
I love the idea and the project, it would make a great Christmas gift. Do you have an estimate of the total price ( BOM and circuit ) ?
Hi Mathieu, It would certainly make a nice Christmas gift :) it depends a bit on your location so I can only speak for me in Germany on the cost. There it is roughly at 60-80 euros for the non printable parts but often parts like the switches or buttons only come in sets which is a bit annoying.. that’s why I work on a parts kit for those non printable parts to make it easier to rebuild:) I think the first 15 kits will be ready the beginning of December just so you know. Best wishes, Manuel
@@manutechlab Thank you for the info! I think I'll follow the BOM to have a few spare parts on hand and that not to expensive. But it’s good to know that there will be kits :)
Cool but stand up against dry fake food. Pets deserve better than fake burnt balls of saw dust.
Cool idea. But feeding your pet by hand is an important bonding and teaching tool. You shouldn’t out source it if you can’t help your self. It’s gonna be a better experience for both of you.
What is the size of the largest part, can if be done on resin printer without rescaling it?
great project, thanks for sharing
