HiFi Scenen

Hi-Fi Scenen is a stage that presents music on a hi-fi system instead of a sound system you're used to in big venues.Hi-Fi Scenen is a salute to the album, the music that musicians, producers, sound engineers and others use a whole lot time on finalizing, to make it sound perfect.

"I have a real soft spot for those old school romantic jazz standards and ballads. And I have a lot of sweet memories of those, too. The first time being in love and sharing those songs with somebody." Hozier's upcoming album "Wasteland, Baby!" is available to pre-order here: hozier.lnk.to/WastelandBabyID

“The sound I'm creating is very much something between music and sound design. It doesn't have like... melodies and perceivable rhythms. It's much more organic like a sound collage.”

“We don't try too hard to make the live sound exactly like the record. We do overdub and layer things to make the recording sound as good as it can. We're not purists in that sense...”

"My Prophet 5 synthesizer is my baby. I’ve had it for years, and we used it on a few Supergrass records as well. We used it quite a bit on the album “Life On Other Planets”. There’s actually a song called “Prophet 15”, and it was a sound we got on the synthesizer that kicked off the whole track. I use it a bit differently now - more for bass synth sounds”, Gaz Coombes tells us about his favouri...

”There were two working titles for this album - one of them was ‘Sex and Death’ and the other one was ‘Melancholic Euphoria’. And I guess that kind of sums up the sort of thing we were aiming for. Most of the songs are about sex and death - usually simultaneously”, says Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand about their new album “Always Ascending”. We met up with Alex and his bandmate Bob Hardy to c...

"I still love the album format. I need something real. I need something that I’ve had to work for. You have to buy the album, you have to take it out of its packaging, put it on the record player. His father was a blues musician, his mother an artist. He has the finest blend of musical and artistic genetics and it shows.
I just did a deep dive into this band after all of these years. Jonas has quite the grasp of how music creation works. It's filthy and imperfect. They truly had lightning in a bottle. One thing no one talks about when it comes to Malin, she was a contralto. Very rare. It was the secret sauce for success. Now her charisma and natural presence, that was the icing. Such a wonderful human being. Credit to all the members for making a cultural impact on the music industry. Respect
My favorite band❤
Ms Dagny is a fabulous singer songwriter! 🌹
This guy's mind is fascinating ! A real institution
I think the real story here is .. all three were jealous about Linn's attention and publicity. Especially her sister wanted more without having that skill and charisma. That knife story was bullsh*t and those were are all made up. Linn got an excuse to get the fk out of everyone's drama. She was loving the attention and that's how she did so well both on stage and in the studio. She was always happy and charming. Simply...Ace of Base was successful just because of Linn and Jonas. Jenny and Ulf were side boys with not much to offer.
Song at 1:25 is the Venus ambient track from Wolfenstein 2. It wasn't included on the official soundtrack, but you can find versions of it on TH-cam.
I've stopped being surprised when songs that have an extra magic I can't articulate turn out to have been made by musicians influenced by jazz. The Getz/Gilberto album was my introduction to Joao Gilberto and it blew my mind. Appreciate Emilie Nicolas and the band so much! ❤❤❤
One of the biggest musical personalities to ever play the trap set. One of a kind.
Bravo Andrew. Complimenti. Rimani così come sei ❤❤❤
Real instruments like Kraftwerk used.
I love all the Ace of Base hits. Jonas also had a hit with "I Saw You Dancing" under the Yaki-Da alias in '94. That tune also made an everlasting impression. He's a very intelligent and talented guy. ❤
I love Ace of Base , for me , the number one in the world.
We need more interviews with Brian Blade.
Brian sounds Great without the drums!!!
she is deep <3
Fantastic interview😎👍👍👍🎉...., so great and intelligent talk about music production 👏👏👏🥂🍾 !!!!!! ....., 💯BRAVO.🌟🌟🌟..!!!!!!!!! Salut from France..😎🇨🇵....
He's an amazing musician! So underrated . Man we need more music from Brian Blade!!! Genius
So Ace of Base was....Ok
From my experience talking to musicians about HiFi, about 1/3 of them are really into it, but the rest couldn't give a damn. Mr. Blade clearly belongs to the second half.
2:40 Dirt 2:55 Wrongs make it right 3:45 Fav productions 5:10 Future of sound 5:55 Cutting out the humanity and over compression
>tfw your favorite band loves your other favorite band
however aob band is amazing when they all 4 together , there completed each other , like another greatband , one personal is stand out but the rest of the band is playing another role , .. - linn is amazing , but without jenny's voice and her dancing style- the results were not balance,.. ..,for the example : we hear song at fully completed in 'the sign ' and another songs like never gonna im sorry - when two voice having the same portion each other ..in 'waiting for magic, etc' , when jennys voices far more portion than linn's , all of songs whice have two voices became harmony . that songs was truly ace of base, .. jonas the creator, joker completed the ideas
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌
Jonas is such a musical genius. While Ulf made some genius contributions as well, we really owe the entire classic sounds of AOB and the memories we have associated with them based on his style and method with music. If I could have the chance to be guaranteed to somehow meet and have one hour over coffee with Jonas in Sweden, I would sign up for a flight to go there tomorrow.
All of her jeans must’ve been in the laundry basket!
He is unic person...So modest, but still intellektuall... Lovely man.
They should take all their best live performance songs, and put em on an album!
Wow.. I'm impressed with the Audix Console behind Will Gregory. Do you have contact with him? I'm looking for the service manual for that console. Greetings from Brazil.
Your sound is amazing live and the way you all groove to the music only amplifies it ALL! Sounds exactly like the studio. Thats rare, thats professional.
Just discovered Wolf Alice, I do think they sound so mutch better live, it's just one of those things, but you can't take anything away from them they got a great sound and formidable cool live on TH-cam I have listened too over and over, love this band.
Fedt fedt fedt!
linnn where are you
In interviews musicians should always appear to have only just woken up. They should rub their eyes and stumble a bit for their words. If discussing why live performances are more enjoyable to hear than recordings, they should use words like “ferociousness.” Whoever asked the questions for HiFi Scenen and then let them talk clearly knows his business. Good job.
Love that he mentions organic sounds, I was telling my friend about my deep love for his music and how I appreciate finding little bits throughout it from clapping to boot stomping and how it just adds so much more depth to the songs.
As a musician there was a flavor in linn's voice that I had never and ever heard in any singer until now! Something that I can't describe it very well but I think listeners know what I mean! I respect her decision but what she did to this band and also to the fans is the biggest disappointment in music history! Her voice was the most unique one I ever heard! I just wish someday she just say hello to her fans!
Malin was a contralto (rare) Jenny was a mezzo-soprano (common) but together they complete each other.
She's into Deftones that makes her 100X hotter than she already is 🤩😍
Deftones shot out 😯
Agree with Jonas' assessment about what I call 'organicness', his thought that more real instruments would improve things.
Benny-Anderssons-Orkester
What an amazing interview! I would listen to Jonas for hours.. I do respect and admire this personality. Jonas and Linn have a lot in common, even the way of talking, expressing the feelings.. We are waiting for the soul of AOB to appear!!
Love her. Love that she loves bossa nova..So glad she lets her curls breathe now ❤️
Da Capo album sounds overcompressed
Yeah but at this point they were appointed with different producers and didn’t have the same ability to prevent over compression. Da Capo/Flowers for me has aged very well. They sound dusty.
lovely and geeky interview
WHERE DID THE OTHER PART OF THIS INTERVIEW GO ? *CRIES* IT WAS MY FAVORITE INTERVIEW OF HIM TALKING ABOUT HIS ALBUM
Yo a mis 44 años aún me empilo con Ace of Base tomando unas cervecitas.
